Disclaimer: I don't own Bnha

Prologue:

"Yeah, so I have this baby here-" Hatsume jumps up and down as she talks about her new creation which she's hiding behind her back. Her workshop was a disaster. it's very clear she invested all her time and effort on her gadget which is normal. And the bags under her eyes are a solid proof.

"Hatsume-san?" Midoriya cuts her rant off before it began. Really, when she talks about her 'babies' it's a storm of word. She's just as bad as me. "It's safe, right?" His eyes begged her to affirm that. He doesn't need another messed up day in his school life, it's really good as it is.

She pouted cutely. "At least let me explain what it does."

"Go on," Izuku said hesitantly.

"So, like I was saying this new baby here is a Personality Changer. I call it PC-127."

"Let me guess, it's because you've failed 127 time." Midoriya casually stated. Hatsume was proud of her development with Midoriya. He wasn't now a blushing mess when talking to her and he can freely express himself when talking to her. That's amazing. He still flushes whenever she touches him, but it's a big change.

"No silly, it's just that I liked the name. Well, like you probably deduced, my baby here changes personalities." She took out some kind of helmet that she was previously holding. It was a little concerning. The calamity that is Hatsume is genius, the problem was her 'babies'. Some of them were really… unique. The Hatsume calamity is now feared by many students and all know of her and her experiments. This particular one certainly smells bad. If you think that a simple helmet cannot bring the world to an end then you're totally wrong.

"So, what do you say?"

"Hmm?" He hasn't heard a word she said. Though, she was most certainly fantasizing about her new baby and the 'future'. (At the pace they're going, he doubts there will be any.)

"Will you do take the honor of being the first to experiment the magnificence of my baby?" She said with an overly dramatic voice, and weird gestures. If she wasn't asking for his death, he would've laughed at her.

"Hatsume-san, I don't think it's a good idea to… you know" He stammered. He is steadily taking ride of his bad habit of stuttering (his mumbling is still a long way to go), but he cannot control it when he is nervous or anxious.

"Don't be so tense, just relax," She patted his bag.

"I still refuse," He answered firmly.

Mei covered her face with her shoulder and turned abruptly away from Izuku. "But, sniff sniff, you promised me that you would help me, sniff sniff, with my babies. Was that a lie? You're hurting me. How can you break a maiden's heart like that?"

Midoriya panicked. Hatsume was acting, that's true. But, it's also true that he promised to help her.

"I am sorry," He finally yielded in (he would never win against one Hatsume Mei when it comes to her babies). "I am in."

"Bravo," She applauded, happily turning around him. Why does he feel like he signed a pact with a devil? "Good Choice," Oh yeah, She was the devil, he realized that day. Her eyes shone with mischief and madness. Her face was dark and sinister and her voice ominous and dangerously cheerful. She placed the helmet on his head. Seemingly out of nowhere, she took out a remote. "What will I choose? Oh yeah, this one looks pretty interesting." His throat felt dry and he gulped. "Oh, Midoriya, my boy, just relax. The worst that could happen would be frying your brain cells."

Before he could utter a word, the device began to glow menacingly. He moved away from his gadget-loving friend. "Hatsume-sa…" And it exploded.

Dust filled the Workshop. The young girl coughed at waved her hands around. "Midoriya?" She glanced around worriedly searching for her friend. Her eyes weren't harmed thanks to her goggles but the dust and smoke were difficult to see through. "My god! Midoriya? Where are you?" Tears began to gather in her eyes.

"Izuku?!"

"I'm here, I'm here." The form of Midoriya appeared.

"My god!" She jumped on him. "Are you okay?" He blushed thousand shades of red and stumbled on his words. She let go of him, because if she didn't he would've certainly fainted.

"I-I am good," He fidgeted with his fingers and answered shyly. His cheeks were tainted light pink and he look at the ground nervously. "I run away with my quirk, you know super-speed and all." His voice was going decrescendo. She was having a hard time hearing him. "I am sorry for what happened to your gadget."

Her face looked much somber. "N-No! I should be the one apologizing. I put your life at risk for nothing."

"Don't worry about it. I'm still gonna help you. And, next time, when it's finished, I will be the first to try it, right?" He tried to cheer on her, because Hatsume and gloomy don't mix.

"N-no, it's all good. I'm- I'm not going to build another one." Her voice trembled and she looked away from him.

"Hatsume-san-"

"No!" She shouted as she lowered her head. "Don't worry about it. You should go rest for a bit. I'm going to… clean the Workshop."

"I can help."

"No, it's alright. I'm alright. You can go." Head still lowered, she pushed him out of the room and locked the door. She slide down the door way and hugged her feet close to her chest. Midoriya knocked on the door, calling her name.

When she wasn't opening the door, "Hatsume, I- you don't need to feel guilty, just smile like you usually do, ok? Everything is going to be alright," After his words, he left her alone. If it was time she needed, he would give her that. He cannot intrude, especially if she doesn't want him to see her. He cannot force her.

Mei trembled and sobbed miserably. Today, she was going to lose a friend again. She was so stupid. "I'm sorry. I'm really sorry."

"Deku-kun?" Uraraka was one of the first to notice how gloomy Midoriya was.

"Oh Midoriya-kun," Iida intervened with his weird robotic hands movements. "The class is watching la film, would you like to join us?"

At the dorm, his classmates looked at him warmly a far cry from how he used to be treated. "Yeah," Kaminari Denki beamed at him. "I think you will this one."

Midoriya smiled tiredly "I am sorry. I'm a bit tired, I will go to sleep."

Kaminari faltered a little but nodded in understanding.

Midoriya slowly ascended the stairs. He felt extremely exhausted, that's really weird. An explosion wouldn't tire him this much. (He would know, explosions were thrown at him ever since he was a toddler.)

Uraraka glanced uneasily at the retreating form of her friend. "Something troubles you?" Momo, the vice rep, asked.

"Um, yeah. Deku-kun seemed sorta weird and gloomy. Should I check on him?"

"I believe it would be preferable to leave him to rest. He's such a hard-working person. I think that all he needs is a good nap and tomorrow he would be flying around." Ojiro, also known as Mr. Tailman (for me at least), comforted the girl.

"Thanks," Ochako was genuinely touched.

"Even the brightest of lights can sometimes be tainted by the darkness." Tokoyami supplied.

"Thanks, I guess?"

"Good morning class," Aizawa-sensei greeted grumply as he entered the classroom. "What are you doing? Sit the heck down."

The class exchanged glances anxiously. Bakugou, sighed angrily. "Teach, the nerd isn't here." He lazily replied. A few of his classmates nodded their heads. It was really concerning for Midoriya of all people to be late. He's almost as diligent as Iida when it comes to things like this. (And that's saying something.)

Aizawa sighed dejectedly, already sensing an upcoming migraine. "And, where is problem child?" As on cue, the door was slammed open.

"What the fuck, nerd? Why did you do that?" The green-haired boy didn't answer, walking head down to his seat. "Hoy! I'm talking to you." He screamed, ready to attack.

"Fuck off," Midoriya scowled at him, toxic-green eyes narrowed. "Bakahatsu!"

At first, I thought of turning this into a light-hearted story and screw the heads of our dear students and teacher. (It's entertaining!) But then, I changed that a little midway. I will try to address some of their issues.
