I know I have, like, a bazillion other stories going on right now, but I really wanted to get this up before I wrote this entire thing in my head.

Zane's POV

We were at the monastery. Years of training and fights together brought us close together. I trusted them, and they trusted me. We told each other our pasts so there were no secrets between us. Maybe I could tell them the secret about my family...

The truth is, I'm a Hybrid. The heir to the Yin and Yang dynasty and a female dragon Hybrid, to be exact. Well, one of them at least. I have a twin brother named Teo. For years now, our home has been at war. Our parents sent us off to different realms to protect us. When I arrived, I assumed the form of a male nindroid named Zane, but I could transform into my Hybrid form whenever I wanted to and I still had my wings no matter what form I took. I managed to hide them, thankfully. My brother is...somewhere else. Somewhere else I don't know. I wasn't alone, though. I had brought a dead friend with me, Eliza. She died just after the war started, but she was a ghost connected to a necklace.

A necklace I had kept hidden from my friends...

Maybe I should talk to Eliza again. I haven't talked to her since I left with Sensei Wu to become a Ninja.

"Go to bed," Sensei called from the other room as if reading my thoughts.

"Yes, Sensei," the others grumbled. I was the only one who was excited. This gave me a chance to see Eliza. We got ready for bed, and went to our respective rooms. I wanted until everyone was asleep before reaching behind the bed. When I pulled my hand back, I was holding a thin, silver chain with a charm. The charm was a Japanese cherry blossom tree in the center of a circle, the entire charm being a dull lilac color. I assumed my hybrid form. I had long, braided pale blond hair that reached the floor. If you looked at me from afar, you could've mistaken me for a boy. I had dragon horns, and wings, both various shades of blue and white. My right eye was a bright teal color with a narrow cat-like pupil, the left a warm amber color.

I rubbed the charm before throwing it to the ground. Instantly, the form of a girl appeared. She was very beautiful, with waist-length auburn hair and big, sky colored eyes, she was an instant friend to anyone who met her. Her horns were more curved, making her seem friendly. Her horns and wings were the color of cherry blossom petals. She looked just how she was before she died, minus the fact that she was somewhat transparent. She was wearing a simple white dress and shoes to match.

"Ah, it's been a long time old friend," she said a bit dramatically. "4 or so centuries?"

"Shut up, Eli," I said, grinning in spite of myself.

"No, seriously. How long has it been?"

"Eh, about a year or two."

"Oh my!" she dramatically swooned. "Not that long!"

"Stop being so dramatic," I swatted her hand as I sit down on my bed.

"Okay, okay!" she sat up again.

"Have you talked to Teo at all?" I asked. Teo was my opposite. He had jet black hair that looked like Lloyd's, though more windswept. His left eyes was a bright teal, and his right eye was a warm amber. His wings and horns were black and various shades of red and orange. The only thing we shared in common was how pale we were. So pale that the doctors thought we were dead at first.

That was how it was. I was the Yang, he was the Yin, though we were both good.

"Not recently," she replied. "Haven't heard from him in, what, 2 years?" I blew a strand of hair from my face.

"Typical Teo," I said.

"Yeah," she grinned. "Heard that there was a full moon coming soon. You can talk to him."

"Really?" I looked up hopefully.

"Yeah," she said. "Next week."

"You can come too," I said. "He needs someone to yell at him for neglecting you."

"You can do that."

"I'll be too happy to see him to yell at him."

"I guess." She kicked her feet over the edge. "Have you told them yet?"

"Nope," I said.

"Well, I sense that the old man here know about the Hybrids."

"Wu?" I was shocked.

"Don't worry," she laughed. "He doesn't know you're a Hybrid."

"Thank goodness," I breathed. Eliza squinted out the window.

"I should go," she said as she walked towards the necklace. "It's almost morning."

"Talk to you later?"

"Yeah." And with that, she disappeared into the necklace. I hid it behind my bed before going out to make some tea. I made some of my favorite, lemon, and sat outside, watching the sun rise.

Hey, brother

There's an endless road to rediscover

Hey, sister

Know the water's sweet but blood is thicker

Oh, if the sky comes falling down for you

There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do

Hey, brother

Do you still believe in one another?

Hey, sister

Do you still believe in love, I wonder?

Oh, if the sky comes falling down for you

There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do

What if I'm far from home?

Oh, brother I will hear you call

What if I lose it all?

Oh, sister I will help you out

Oh, if the sky comes falling down for you

There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do

Hey, brother

There's an endless road to rediscover

Hey, sister

Do you still believe in love, I wonder?

Oh, if the sky comes falling down for you

Oh, sister I will help you out

Oh, if the sky comes falling down for you

There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do

"There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do," I whispered (Go listen to this excellent song. It's called 'Hey Brother'.). I finished my tea and went inside to wash it. A few minutes later, I heard the gong that Sensei uses to wake us up. I shook my head when I heard the others groan and protest. I began making breakfast, pancakes with raspberry syrup (I don't know if this is a thing). Soon, Lloyd poked his head inside the kitchen.

"Do I smell pancakes?" he asked.

"Yes, you do," I replied. "Now, get out of my kitchen." Lloyd saluted mock-fully.

"Yes, sir!" he said as he ducked out of the kitchen. I rolled my eyes.

"Breakfast will be ready soon," I said. Soon, the others were stuffing their faces with food. It seemed that today would be a good day. Then Sensei walked in.

"I have some bad news."

DUN DUN DUNN!
