Earth; USA; Northern California: Unknown POV

A person stood in front of a conspiracy board. One of the big parts of it was a newspaper clipping that read "Famous US Diplomat Dies; Son Disappeared!" There were also records of unknown energy discharge. Most of them were near a school in the local area but there were two powerful discharges near D.C., one almost 16 years ago with a few small ones shortly after, and another a few months ago.

A machine beeped and pulled up a display that showed the same energy building at the school.

"Why did you bring us all the way out here?" someone asked.

"Because I think I found where Orpheus disappeared to. It has something to do with the energy build-up near that school," the person in front of the board said, pointing to a photo of the school, Canterlot High School.

"If you say so. But he's been gone for almost six months now, I wouldn't get your hopes up," a third voice said.

"We have to at least try. Even if we don't find him that energy is very powerful. It would be quite helpful," the second person stated.

Unknown to the three, another person also knew about the energy build-up. The difference is that this person knew what it was and had a plan. A plan of vengeance.
