Authors note: I'm back! I just love playful kiss so much! This was going to be a complete different fanfic because it was in my drafts, I wrote it a few years ago and I went back to finish it! This was inspired by the song "Here comes goodbye" by Rascal flatts so I reomnd listening to it while reading. I don't really like sad fics so I might continue it, let me know if I should in the reviews!

Oh Ha Ni squinted her eyes in the opposite direction of the cafeteria in annoyance. Min ah looked at her friend in worry as she saw who her glare was directed to, she knew too well what was happening.

Seung Jo felt the burning stare of the girl, he raised his head as oh Ha Ni turned and huffed in annoyance. For oh Ha Ni and Seung Jo not sitting together was a rare occurrence, they were attached at the hip even though the male would deny it.

Seung Jo and Ha Ni had an off and on relationship, and well right now it was off. It started with Seung Jo hanging out with this other girl in his class, one thing lead to another and he decided to stop their relationship because he thought she was being childish, to which caused a huge fight and Ha Ni storming off. It bothered her how much girls swarmed around him, everyone in their high school knew that they were together, so why couldn't people just back off?

The answer was that Seung Jo was too perfect for girls not to fall for him. Ha Ni was surprised when he confessed to her after the whole confession letter ordeal her first year, but nonetheless she was ecstatic!

Joo-ri looked apologetically at Ha Ni and tried to calm her friend down. "Don't worry Ha Ni, he's going to come back like always, this happens twice a month," she laughed trying to lighten the mood.

Ha Ni pouted childishly as she sighed, "He doesn't realize how much I care... He would be upset if he was in my position!"

Ha Ni excused herself to head to their classroom earlier, claiming that she wanted to study. The two friends sighed as they watched their best friend walk away sluggishly back to class F.

It hurt. Knowing that Seung Jo would only have Ha Ni at his beck and call hurt. Worst of all is that she responded every time. How could she not? She loved him with all her being, always have. Even if he was cold as ice, he was also considerate in his own ways. The side of Baek Seung Jo that only Oh Ha Ni knew.

She kept walking, the classroom passed her by as memories fly by her mind. Moving in to the Baek house, being embraced by his mother as if she were her own, praised by his father, fighting with his brother over childish things, burning food that she made with love, being rescued from a pervert on the way home. From the best to the worst moments they shared, she remembered it all too well.

She kept walking, ha ni didn't dare slow down. The streets start to blur, had her feet ached this much before? Not as much as heart that's for sure.

She loves Seung Jo so much, how could this always happen. Why is she so stubborn and never admit that's she's wrong. ... but is she really? If Seung Jo cared he'd never let those other girls hang on him. If he loved her he would stop her from leaving in the first place. If he loved her...

Ha Ni felt her heart suddenly drop. She can't ignore these insecurities, not anymore. If she couldn't trust him.. and he couldn't trust her..then...is that it? It's over?

If they keep this cycle going would she resent him? Would he end up hating her, she would rather die. Ha Ni feels a drop on her cheek, and reflectively looks up expecting to see drizzle only to be met with a dark sky. She never realized what time it is. It must be nearing ten.

As she starts her descent on the gravel towards the direction of where her heart has decided to reside. It seemed as the world was just as heartbroken, there was no sound coming from the night. With each step it was as if she was accepting fate. Here comes goodbye, Ha Ni thought melancholy.

Here comes the last time they would warmly greet each other. Here comes the start of every sleepless night that Ha Ni will have to endure sleeping in the next room to her love. The first of every tear that she'll cry. Here comes the reality of the pain in her chest.

She swears she could hear him confessing his love to her like it was yesterday. They were on a date eating ice cream when she dropped hers and started crying. She remembers how he grumbled as he passed her his ice cream while muttering how could he be in love with an idiot. In her excitement she also dropped his cone while going in for a hug. She received a scolding right after for dropping of the cones, but he couldn't hide his smile when she said it back. How she wished things would never change, with her arms around him.

How did things come to this? She wished there was some other solution, not matter how many times she racked her brain there was none. Oh Ha Ni loves Baek Seung Jo so much that she'd let him go. Oh Ha Ni will always love Baek Seung Jo; so very deeply- that it's decided what she must do.

She finally reached the Baek residence. With her heart in her pocket, she knocks on the door. She fiddles with her fingers at she waits for the door to open. Eun Jo opens the door in a swift motion and sighs in annoyance. "Oh Ha Ni don't you have keys? Stupid girl did you forget how to use them?!" Despite his annoyance, Ha Ni smiles warmly at the boy. Would he hate her when it's all done? She saw him as her own little brother. "Sorry Eun Jo, it won't happen again I promise," Ha Ni replied with a bittersweet smile. She messed his hair up a little while she passed by going into the house.

Home, she thought , beautiful home thank you for hosting me all these years. She scanned the room carefully and quietly as if it was the last time, and it was. The beautiful atmosphere and warm people is what made this house a home. But she wasn't a part of that no matter how much she wished she was.

"Hey you! Do you realize what time it is?! Mother has been worried sick you know," Seung Jo exclaims as he descends the stairs. Ha Ni managed to stifle her giggle. In Seung jo language that translated to he was worried and demanded an explanation.

"I'm sorry for worrying mother...," she managed to whisper as she looked down at her hands. She could hear his footsteps approaching her as her heart raced towards him. There's a few beats of silence before she hears him sigh and envelop her in a hug. His warmth radiated straight into her heart, it was like she longed for this warmth all her life. His scent surrounded them, intoxicating her. Would she forget this feeling of calm and protection? Being In his arms, loving him, being his. She closed her eyes, letting herself bask in it a moment longer before she gently pushed him away.

Seung Jo's eyebrows furrow in confusion as he tries to go in for another hug only to be sidestepped by Ha Ni. She feels the comforting wall behind her back, trying to be strong for her to lean on. "Don't," she whispered gently as she looked away. "Are you still mad," Seung jo deadpans. Ha Ni gently shakes her head softly. He tries reaching out to her once again, holding her hand gently. "Oh Ha Ni stop being stubborn! Tell me what's wrong," Seung jo exclaims. Ha Ni squeezed her eyes closed willing her courage to pull through, she lets out a breath and looks up at Seung Jo with determination. "Baek Seung Jo this is wrong, us. We're not good together," she finally lets out.

Seung jo looks at her as if she'd groom a third head "what are you talking about you crazy woman," he questions. "Let's break up," Ha Ni calmly states. "We're not together Ha Ni, we already broke up idiot," he states with an air of mockery. He suddenly puts his left hand beside her head leaning in. She feels her heart thundering in her chest as she tries to get moisture in her dry mouth. "I mean it," she goes on. "Isn't that what you said last time? How long is it gonna last this time around ? Two weeks," he snickers. "This time it's different," she says as she stares at the floor . "Oh yeah? How will it be different this time around my tiny snail Oh Ha Ni?" Ha Ni looks up in indifference at him, "because I don't love you anymore."

The silence surrounding the two was suffocating, yet neither wanted to give in to the other. "You don't mean that," he states calmly. The only answer he receives is a stare from cold eyes. Her heart seems to break even more at the silence that follows. Suddenly a pair of lips are on her own, she could taste the frustration and hurt that he was trying to convey with his kiss. How easy it could be to just give in to his love, to his warmth, to his everything. How she longed to bask in it, but she couldn't. This is the best for them, for him.

She tries to push him back, but he just tightens his grip around her. When he eventually pulls away, her hand immediately connects with his face. She can barely feel the sting in her hand as she stares down her lover with as much disdain she can muster. "I'm leaving. I just thought you should hear it from me," she says to a stunned Seung jo. She turns towards the stairs to her room before she hears Seung jo state "you can't leave." Ha Ni pauses before she answers, "that's not up to you now is it."

Ha Ni rushes up the stares to her room, locking it in a hurry. She puts her hand over her heart as if trying to mend the heartbreak she was feeling. It's really over, she laments feeling her eyes fill with tears. She refused to shed them until she was out of this house, she had to be strong for both of them. Ha Ni packed most of the clothing she could find in her suitcase, she picked up the picture frame of her and Seung jo during graduation and hugged it to her chest. She puts it away in her bedside table along with the confession letter and closed it slowly. Putting away her feelings at the same time, leaving them behind. As she called a cab, her eyes roamed around the room. Finally feeling the courage to leave, she opens the door and descends the stairs towards her given path. With her hand on the doorknob, she feels a hand on hers affectively stopping he from opening the door. "Don't go," Seung Jo whispers so lowly she barely heard him. She closes her eyes bidding the tears away as she whispers back, "goodbye Baek Seung Jo." And with that the door is closed firmly. Once Ha Ni was in the cab she let her tears flow freely.

Goodbye my love.
