Hello Ladies! This has been circling for a while now and I thought I'd get it out there. I'm completely out of practice on writing so please try and not comment too harshly on the mistakes please. This is for pure entertainment and nothing else.

As always the mistakes are mine. Enjoy!

THE PRINCE

Prologue

Busting through the front door, I'm met with two things; silence and the barrel of a gun shoved into my face.

My entire life I've had to deal with guns and pussy-ass wannabes who thought they could take me down. Standing right in front of me is the last person I'd hoped to ever see again. The one who taught me everything I know in the world I grew up in when my Pop couldn't be bothered.

"It's time to come home now, Prince." Ray harshly states.

I take in my surroundings knowing that I don't have the option in taking him down. He'd expect it after all. Five men stand in the room behind him waiting for instructions. These men are who was assigned to me years ago to make sure I survived and followed my every move. The same men I was able to evade but have found me now.

The house is quiet. Too quiet, and that worries me. She was supposed to be home right now but I'm hoping for a miracle that she went over to her friend's place or out to the grocery store. Anywhere but here. Why the fuck did I decide to meet up with a new guy at my business instead of coming straight home to my woman.

The moment the silent alarm at the house alerted me, I hit the pavement running to my car to race home. That alarm was put into place in case the unthinkable happens. I also have cameras situated around the house and for some reason I couldn't access them on the way over. It was the longest twenty minutes of my life and now I'm panicking inside but refuse to cower or show any signs of distress. I was brought up to not show any emotions. Even when your life is ending you are to show no signs of weakness.

"Emotions will get you killed, son." My Pop always instilled.

"Ask, Prince." Ray taunts and I hate that he knows that I'm hanging on by a thread. I hate that he still calls me that, still to this day. It gets under my skin and I want to rip his throat out.

In an instant I block the gun aimed at me, knocking it out of his hands taking him by surprise. Barreling him up against the wall, I put my forearm up against his throat applying just the right amount of pressure.

"Where's my wife?" I grit out. My teeth grind and my jaw ticks.

Ray's lip twitches slightly knowing that I've just given him the satisfaction of showing my weakness, but I don't give a fuck. She's my world and I'll kill a hundred bastards with my bare hands if harm is ever brought on her.

"She's on a plane headed back to Seattle." Ray informs me. "Mr. Grey wanted to make sure your arrival was immediate. Thought this was the best way to get you there."

My body stills and a million flashes run through my mind. Will Pop hurt her to get me back home? Does she have her EpiPen and inhaler on hand? I've always made sure the people around her and all my men carry them on hand just in case something happens. Did she go quietly or is she scared? Fuck!

"She put up one hell of a fight." Luke interrupts my internal thoughts and points over to Jose who's sporting a swollen eye and busted lip.

"I'll gut you like a fucking fish if you laid a hand on her." I twist and pull the metal from my waistband pointing it at Jose while still holding Ray on the wall. My voice is deadly and there is no mistake that I wouldn't drop his ass dead with a bullet between his eyes. I don't care if we were friends growing up or not. I'd get two shots off before they could restrain me, but I think better of it. They have the one possession that matters the most to me and I need to keep a clear head and focus on her.

I go to take a step towards him, but Ray stops me, grabbing my shoulder.

"Easy, Christian. No one touched her but me. She put up a struggle, but I sedated her quickly before she could hurt herself." His words don't bring me any comfort. "She was able to get the upper hand on Jose though." He chuckles as does Luke and Jason.

"Laugh it out you fuckers." Jose sneers as he touches his lip.

My head is about to explode. This was what I'd worked so hard to get away from and now my two worlds have collided. The one I was born into and walked away from and the other I chose and never looked back.

"Mr. Grey said it was time to come home. Our plane is ready to board now and all your," Ray looks around the room before settling back on me. "things will be packed up and shipped to the house on the Sound."

"I want proof she's safe." I growl.

Luke comes over with his phone and plays a video. It shows my beautiful wife take Jose down. A sense of pride fills my chest thinking those awkward and hard sessions at the gym paid off, but then rage takes over when I watch as Ray sinks a needle into her. Moments later she goes limp and Ray cradles her, laying her on the living room couch. What really surprises me is the person who comes into the video. A person who's been in our house over the last year and is who we consider a friend. They gather my wife's sedated body and leave the house ending the video. How could I have not seen them coming? How could I let my guard down even for a moment and let them snake their way into our lives undetected?

Resigned to my fate, I mentally make myself prepared to head back to Seattle. The place I left to be with the one that truly became my world and love more than my own life.

"If one hair is out of place or there is even a scratch on her skin I'll torture you in the worst way before I kill you."

I kick Ray's gun out of my way and head back out the door to the waiting SUV that I now notice parked across from the house. It takes a few minutes for everyone to pile in but once the crew is loaded we head out in silence. It doesn't take us long to get to the private jet on the runway and all I can think about is my wife.

We exit the SUV, but Ray holds me back while the others board the jet.

"She'll be fine Christian, trust me." He grabs my upper arm halting me.

I shrug him off. "You don't know shit!" My jaw ticks and I really want to lay him out right now. He doesn't know how hard it was to get her out of her shy shell and make her feel secure and safe. How my very breath depends on her. He has no idea the lion's den that he has sent her into.

"I know more than you think." His eyes are hard, and they remind me of the man who trained me since I was a little boy. "Mr. Grey has known your whereabouts since the moment you left the state of Washington." Well, shit. "Changing your last name and living a different life didn't hide you from him. He let you leave and have your fun. Now it's time to come home and get ready to take your position in the family. Though, he has no idea that you're married." Ray nods at my wedding band. "I'm sure Mrs. Grey will be ecstatic to be adding a daughter to the family."

Knocking shoulders as I brush past him, I can't help but think about what Ray just said. Had my father known about where I was this entire time? Had he kept tabs on me, and I didn't know it? Did I want to my spot in the family?

My wife has no idea what my family is or does for a living. She'll have a heart attack once she learns what I've done in the past. I'm clueless on how I'm going to tell her. Will she accept me for who I really am? Accept my family?

No, I won't let her have a choice. She's mine and has been from the moment I laid claim to her. She has no other choice but to accept it. I changed for her but deep down I always knew this day was coming, I was just hoping to have a little longer before she found out about me and my family.

I'm the son of and future Don of the Mafia.
