Hello! This is my first time writing a story, so please bear with me. I'm not quite sure where this will go, but I have hopes of making it a good plot.

Thoughts are italicized.

I know I might have a few inconsistencies in my writing, so it would be helpful to get some reviews on what I can do to improve my writing.

3rd person POV:

Chihaya Kaneyuki wasn't sure what was going on. Someone was screaming next to her, shouting in either joy or disbelief.

"What? OH MY GAWD! You got in! Wait, Kane-chan! Are you still breathing?!"

Snapping out of it, the youngest Chihaya looked at her friend with wide eyes. "Am I the only one seeing this? I got accepted into U.A. high school! I'm going to be in Class 1-A at U.A. in the spring!"

Her friend rolled her eyes. "With a quirk like yours? They'd be morons if you weren't accepted. You're the powerful Chihaya Kaneyuki, and I'm your best friend—the prettiest too, Akiyama Yuriko. Even though I don't aspire to be a hero, I still know how prestigious U.A. is and how you won't settle for any less than the best in order to achieve your dreams. Even if it means that we'll be parting for high school, I'll always be cheering you on!" Hugging her friend tightly, Yuriko congratulated her raven-haired friend.

Kaneyuki still felt as if she was floating in a dream. Rereading the letter in her hands, she looked for any signs of potential forgery. When no signs could be found, she thought back to what had happened just a week prior to the letter.

*********Flashback, one week before*********

Kaneyuki zipped up her black-blue workout jacket and pulled her waist-length raven hair up into a messy bun. The exam that decides her future would be happening today. Her phone buzzed. Yuriko had just texted her saying, "Make Kakegawa Junior High proud! We're all waiting for this day that our school finally produces a U.A. student!" Smiling at her friend's confidence, she responded back with a "Let's hope that I won't disappoint." Taking one last look in the mirror, a pair of mulberry colored eyes stared back with determination. Will I be good enough? Am I strong enough after all the quirk endurance training? That's when a shout disrupted her train of thought.

"Kaneyuki! Get down here! You still have to eat your breakfast, or you might end up passing out during your exam," exclaimed her mother.

"Ok, coming." Her quirk was strong, but it was also taxing. Without all the training and effort she had put in trying to control her quirk, she would last only seconds before passing out.

After finishing her breakfast, she set off to the U.A. entrance exam location.

(An hour later..)

The speech Present Mic gave in the Auditorium was interesting. She felt sorry for the little green head, being called out in front of so many people had to be mortifying, but since she was sitting only a row behind the said boy, glasses had a point. His excessive mumbling did provide a bit of distraction. Walking to her assigned Testing Center E, Kaneyuki passed a crimson-eyed, blond-haired teen who stopped a meter in front of her. His eyes seemed to glare daggers at her, but she didn't see why.

I don't think I've ever met him before. Why does it look like he holds a grudge towards me? A moment later, the boy scoffed and continued on to Testing Center A. Hmm... perhaps I was mistaken?

Shaking off the confusion at the encounter, she focused her mind back on the upcoming practical test. Since there were so many people taking the test and only 10 minutes long, she'd have to be quick and efficient at taking down the robots to prevent someone from stealing the kill. A high vantage point would be needed to spot all the robots too. Kaneyuki decided that she should target the 3-pointers first to rack up points that ensure her passing the test, then keep an eye out for other robots. The zero-pointer probably wouldn't emerge until the last few minutes to give everyone a fair chance.

After she finished stretching, Present Mic's voice rang over the arena, yelling "Start!" Kaneyuki raced past the confused test-takers next to her and sped off into the replicated city, and the rest of the people snapped out of their surprise and rushed after her.

When she reached a certain distance away from the others, Kaneyuki activated her quirk.

Her mulberry eyes took on a scarlet glow as she was lifted off the ground by an invisible force. She was quite thankful for having her hair on a bun, or else it would be whipping around and slapping herself in the face. Once she was high enough in the air, she looked around for the robots. Spotting one just a few buildings away, her gloved hand whipped out and made a crushing motion. The corresponding robot collapsed on itself and fell apart as if an invisible being had stomped on it. Well, that's 3 points down. She placed herself on the tallest building near her and began scouting for robots. Whenever she saw one, all she needed to do was direct her hands, reenact the hand motion, and move on to the next, quickly racking up points.

Initially, the other trainees were confused. When they finally found a robot, it would quickly crumple up by itself without needing to do anything. After a few seconds of looking around, one boy finally saw Kaneyuki standing upon the buildings, eyes glowing and hands splayed out to the distant robots.

"Hey, a girl is on the tallest building! It's her who's stealing the robots! We have to move where she can't see or else she'll take all of them," he shouted. Hearing this, the others soon spread out to find areas where robots could have been hiding from view.

With two minutes left, Kaneyuki began feeling a slight pain in her head. Her quirk, Force-Manipulation, required a lot of mental strength and using it for an extended period of time meant that her brain would constantly be struggling to control and direct the objects resulting in severe headaches or migraines. Had she not been continuously training both her body or brain, she would have collapsed long before due to exhaustion.

After wiping out a 2-pointer and a 3-pointer, Kaneyuki felt a rumbling beneath her. The building she was standing upon shook and a billow of dust and debris greeted her. That must be the zero-pointer. It's too big for me to control using just by motioning with my hands, so I'll have to change it up. The green, metal monstrosity towered over the buildings. People below were now screaming for their lives. Looking down at the chaos on the streets, she noticed a muscular teen with a rock-like head who didn't run and sat shell shocked on the road. Rooted to the ground, his face was filled with fear, and tears were beginning to form. Sighing, Kaneyuki stepped off the building into freefall, before using her quirk to stop her descent inches from the ground. Deactivating her quirk, eyes turning back to the normal mulberry color, she ran over to the shaking, peach-colored teen, calling out "Are you okay there? Can you stand?"

He looked back towards her and brought his hands up to his face, rapidly signing.

Kaneyuki wasn't sure how to respond. After all, she had no experience with sign language, but from the look on his face, anyone could tell he was panicking. Using her quirk, Kaneyuki sent him gently floating, stopping three streets away. That should be enough distance. I wouldn't want anyone getting caught by the debris that might shower down. She looked back at the zero-pointer, eyes flashing back to scarlet.

She walked towards the robot, slowly picking up the pace into a sprint before using her quirk to push off of the ground. Like a red beam of light, she used more force and shot towards the face of the zero-pointer at an astonishing speed. Bringing her legs close to her body, she twisted in the air and kicked her feet into its metal face, increasing her own density a second before contact to prevent damaging her body as well as making sure the robot was crushed by the impact. Spluttering, the robot fell backward, parts groaning and wires snapping, crashing into the ground.

The other test takers watched from afar. They were bewildered at how strong the girl must have been to take out the robot almost effortlessly. The metal sheet that used to be the face of the robot was now dented beyond belief by the skinny teen.

Kaneyuki gently landed on the ground. A migraine was starting to kick in, the throbbing near her temples causing her to stumble. She didn't even hear Present Mic's announcement that the test had ended. Her hands were slightly numb and tingling, but the breathable automatic cooling system installed in her fingerless gloves helped to ease the sensation. She stumbled over to the boy she helped earlier. "You doing better?"

She wasn't sure what he signed as her vision blurred, but the smile on his face served as a pretty good reassurance before she promptly collapsed on her hands and knees, the pain in her head intensifying. The poor kid started panicking again, scrambling on to his feet looking for someone who could help. Thankfully, Recovery Girl wasn't far away, and when she saw the panicking face of the boy, she immediately came over and gave some headache gummies after realizing it wasn't a physical injury.

Breathing out a sigh, Kaneyuki sat down on the ground, chewing on the headache gummies. The test was finally over.

*********End of Flashback*********

Looking at the letter in her hands, Kaneyuki smiled. Meanwhile, Yuriko was furiously texting everyone she knew, spreading the news that Chihaya Kaneyuki was accepted into U.A. and that a party had to be held in order to celebrate. Sitting next to her, Kaneyuki felt a shiver up her spine.

Somewhere else, a certain spike-haired blond clenched the letter of acceptance in his hands. Bakugo Katsuki was not used to seeing the number 2 next to his name. Someone had beaten him in the entrance exam. The name Chihaya Kaneyuki flashed directly above his. Although she had 71 villain points, which was 6 points below his score of 77, she had an extra 12 rescue points, bringing her up to a total of 83 points and securing the title of first place.

Bakugo glared at the name. He thought back immediately to the girl who brushed past him with the purple-ish eyes. It had to be her. He knew that she was strong, and he saw the flash of power in her eyes when they first met, but never would he predict that she would beat him, of all people.

He would remember that name. Chihaya Kaneyuki, the one who he had to beat.

Yay! Done with the first chapter! Thanks for reading. Here are some Character specifics:

Surname, Given name: Chihaya Kaneyuki 千早金雪(the kanji for her name translate to "thousand" "early" and "gold snow")

Appearance: Waist-length wavy black hair (usually up in a messy bun), Mulberry-colored eyes, lithe body on the skinnier side, pale skin

Height: 160 cm (5 '2.5 ft)

Quirk: Force-Manipulation. She can exert force on objects without touching them (think about it more like telekinesis) and can also exert the force on herself. It is different from Uraraka Ochaco's quirk that only nullifies the effect of gravity and activates upon touch. Kaneyuki's eyes also glow a scarlet color when her quirk is activated. If used for too long and too wide of a scale-like during the entrance exam (10-15 min at high input), her quirk will give her headaches, sometimes migraines, and tingling/numbness in her hands.

Accessories: Fingerless leather gloves that have a cooling system built in to help ease the tingling/numbness in her hand

Personality: Generally reserved, calm, quick to adapt
