An Undying Love

A/N: Well, folks here is my next Morcia tale. I have to say I loved writing this, but it definitely turned out much longer than I anticipated. Lol! I hope you all enjoy my latest labor of love. Feel free to drop me a note and let me know what you think. I always appreciate the feedback. It makes me a better writer. I will be posting this story twice a week.

A/N2: I know this is a really hard time for everybody right now with this COVID-19 pandemic and its reach all over the world. My hopes and prayers are with each and every one of you and your families. I don't know if it's touched you personally at all, but I have lost a few friends to this horrible disease. I myself have been self-isolating myself for over a month, now. I'm high risk because of my medical history including the fact I am a 9/11 survivor. Help me to pray for all the Healthcare and essential personnel that are right on the front lines giving all of themselves and right in harm's way. God bless all of you and them. Much love…

Chapter 1

As Derek sat by Penelope's bedside, his mind flashed back to the day that his nightmare began. He'd just gotten home from work and his phone rang. On the other end was a nurse from Stafford Hospital ER, stating they were calling about Penelope Garcia because he was on her emergency contact list. They'd informed him that she'd been involved in a major traffic accident and that she was in critical condition and unconscious. No sooner did he hang up, he flew out the door and notified Hotch to call the rest of the team and meet him at the hospital.

These last ten days had been the worst days of his life. He hadn't left her side once since she was admitted into the hospital. The only times he left her were for no more than a quick bathroom break and once a day for a hasty shower. He even took to shaving right there in her room. He didn't want her to wake up and find herself all alone. He needed to be there with her and for her. He loved her beyond what words could say. He was desperately waiting for her to regain consciousness, so he could pledge his undying love for his Baby Girl.

The rest of the team and his mother were there with him on and off to check up on both of them. Much to their chagrin and displeasure, he wouldn't give up his vigil. They begged and pleaded with him to go home and get some rest but he continually refused. Finally, they gave up and supported him as much as they could. They were constantly bringing him meals and a change of clothing every day.

They would sit with them for a few hours at a time until they had to go back to work or go home to their loved ones. It just broke all of their hearts to see both Derek and Penelope in so much distress and not know what to do for them. All they could do was hope and pray that Penelope would come out of her coma soon. They'd never seen Derek so distraught and scared before. They all knew that he'd been in love with his Goddess for years now, but was always afraid to admit it to himself and to her. They hoped this would finally help him realize and admit his true feelings.

As Derek kept his vigil, he'd forgotten about everything and everyone else which included his present girlfriend Savannah. As the days and nights dragged on Savannah was getting more and more angry. She tried to approach Derek several times, but he just ignored her and pushed her out of the room each time. In his mind, he couldn't deal with her until the angel in front of him woke up.

He sat holding Penelope's hand as his tears rolled down his face. He decided to pour out his heart out again to her. He hoped she could hear him. "Baby Girl, I need you to wake up and come back to me. I can't handle any of this without you. I know you need your rest, but I need to see those beautiful eyes of yours. I miss your voice, I miss your laugh, and I miss you. I love our banter and flirting. I miss hearing you call me Hot Stuff. There is so much I need to tell you. I hope that you can hear me, because I am going crazy here, Princess. I want you to know that as soon as you wake up, I am finally ready to admit to you how much I really do love you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, marry you and I want a baseball team of children with you! I hope—"

His words were suddenly cut off when he heard a loud gasp behind him. He rapidly swung his head around and saw an angry and seething Savannah behind him. She'd heard everything and instantly blew like a volcano. "You pig, how dare you? How could you do this to me, to us? I should've known! I always had a feeling deep down that you loved that fat whore!"

Before she could get out another word, Derek bellowed, "Don't you dare say anything about Penelope like that. How dare you? What the hell are you doing here anyway? I told you to leave us alone. You know what? I'm glad you heard that. Truth is, I have always been in love with Baby Girl. I just never wanted to admit it. I didn't think I was good enough for her. I really never meant to hurt you, but I tried to love you and it just never happened." He turned to look at Penelope and the tears began again. He was grateful that she wasn't awake to hear everything that was happening.

Savannah stood there, her hands on her hips while she tapped her foot. She was waiting for him to turn back around again. Finally, she'd had enough. Savannah suddenly screeched out his name. "Derek!" As soon as he whipped around, she slapped him hard across the face. It completely caught him off guard. She raised her hand to do it again, but his hand flew up and caught hers before she could. "Not again, I may have deserved that, but no more. I will—"

She screamed again, "I really loved you, Derek. I can't believe you used me all this time while you pined away for that…that…ugly fat cow. I knew she would be trouble I shouldn't have listened to you or trusted you. Every time you said you were only friends, I wanted to believe you. You are both traitors and I hate you both. I hope you both rot in hell. Karma's a bitch and I hope she never wakes up. Give me two weeks and I will be out of that stupid house of yours. You haven't heard the last from me though!"

Derek was fuming over the words she just spat at him. He knew he had some of it coming, but there was no way that he would allow anyone to talk about Penelope that way. She didn't deserve any of Savannah's wrath. This was all on him.

Derek took a deep breath and spoke, "Listen, Savannah, I understand you are hurt and angry and you have every right to be. But, none of this is Penelope's fault and she never did anything wrong to you. This is all my fault, I'm sorry I did this to you, it was never my intention to hurt you or anyone. Please, leave Pen out of this. She was always nice and respectful to you. I should've been honest with everyone years ago and none of this would've happened. I am truly sorry for hurting you, but I can't hide my true feelings anymore. And, two weeks is fine. I wish you nothing but the best. You deserve someone who will love you, but that someone is not me. I am completely and truly in love with that beautiful woman lying in that bed over there." His eyes once again shifted over to the love of his life.

Savannah threw her arms up in the air as she turned to leave. "I hate you both Derek Morgan, and I hope you both will be miserable for the rest of your lives. I have no sympathy for either one of you. Trust me, you haven't heard the last of this…" Her words trailed off as she stomped out of the room.

Derek just stood there and watched her retreating form and shook his head. He really didn't want to hurt Savannah, but he was relieved that that was over and now he could concentrate on the woman he truly loved. As he started to turn around there was a sudden commotion behind him. When he looked back, he saw his friends and family come bustling through the door.
