Author's Note: Hello my long awaited reviewers and fellow Bakugan writers. I've been gone quite some time and I have no excuse for it. I apologize greatly though. My mind is open though, and I have many ideas that have yet to be done in the Bakugan franchise. This is just one of them. I never liked the third season of Bakugan, nor did I like the last season. I was very disappointed in how it ended, so I figured what would be the best way to make a comeback other than making a "new season" of Bakugan, one that I hope you will enjoy and that I do not offend anyone with what I have planned.
Warnings: There will be language now, since the majority of the Brawlers are in their 20's, so language would be present. Another thing is that there are Yaoi scenes or a romance between two males. In this case, it will be between Dan X Shun and Gill X Airzel for the most part. There will be other hints of it throughout the story.
This story is split up into Arcs, and is at a total of nearly nine Arcs, or whenever I think I will end it. I'm sad to say this will be the only story I will upload while I revise the others into better stories. Let me know what I should do? Should I just rewrite them under the same story or put up a new one of the same name with REVISED at the end of the title? Which will be easier for you?
Now that I got that out of the way, I do hope you enjoy this story. I will be as descriptive as possible and I eagerly await your reviews.
Bakugan Universal Crown
It has been about two years since Dan left for New Vestroia. And no one has heard from him since. It worried Shun, his best friend, the most out of the Brawlers for unknown reasons. Why was he so worried about Dan? Was he in trouble? Was he hurt?
Shun went to bed every night thinking about Dan, and wondering where he was. Shun shook his head and sighed deeply. He was worrying too much. He thought nothing of it when he saw Dan leaving, so why was it bothering him now?
Was it because of all the calls he was receiving from Dan? The mysterious calls he got that never went through entirely. All he heard was static on the other end. Was Dan able to hear him from his end? Or was it just as much static?
Shun sat up in his bed and looked at the picture on his nightstand. It was of him and Dan when they were younger. The picture brought a smile to the Ventus Brawler's face, although it disappeared a second later. He tried calling Dan back several times. He even climbed some trees to get a signal that was able to reach Dan. But as his attempts proved futile he still got them from Dan. And they were nothing but static.
Did he hold it against Dan because he left? Was he angry at Dan for leaving them? For leaving him…
He suddenly shivered. Shun rubbed his arms in an attempt to get warm. His phone rang, playing a metal song that reminded Shun of Dan. It was Dan's ringtone. Shun grabbed it and clicked the button that would open the line. And like always it was static. The call made Shun jump, but what made him jump more was the crystal clear voice that was heard on the other line.
"Now that all of you have answered, let's get this show on the road, shall we?"
There was a bright light that blinded him, and it tickled his body a great deal. When the light disappeared Shun stood in an empty void along with many that he recognized quickly.
All of the Brawlers stood in the cold void, along with some… old friends? Was that the term he should use?
"AH! What the heck happened!?" Runo screeched. There was a slight echo that amplified it.
Shun covered his ears a second too late to avoid the piercing yell. He opened his eyes to spot Mira, Baron, Ace, Keith, and Gus in one group across from the original Brawlers. But what made Shun open his eyes wider in surprise was that a certain… person was standing next to them. Keith was in his new Darkus Attribute outfit, but his alter ego Spectra stood next to him in his original Pyrus outfit. Shun had to shake his head. Was he sleeping?
When he opened them again he looked away from the group to notice Volt, Lync, Mylene, and lastly Shadow. Of all people… Shadow Prove. Shun nearly rolled his eyes. He could already hear the Darkus Brawler's annoying voice. He kept looking around. There was Runo, Julie, Alice, Jake, Gunz, Mira, Ace, Baron, Keith, Spectra, Masquerade… Shun sighed again and just kept looking around. There was Rafe, Paige, Ren, Gus, Mylene, Shadow, Volt, Lync, Gill and Airzel… Okay, this time Shun stared at the Gundalians. H-how? Why? What are they doing here? What's Shadow doing here?
Shun continued to look around. Stoica was there too, with Anubias, Sellon (great…), Lena, Mason, Zenet, Jesse, Sid (he's alive too apparently), Ben, Jack, Robin, Chris, and Soon.
Okay, the Brawlers and others are all here… now where was the one who made the call?
Shun kept his eyes open to notice anything out of the ordinary, but wasn't finding anyone who he did not know.
"I hope all of you weren't surprised by that sudden light." A voice called out, sounding amused.
Shun turned his head and looked up to see a screen of a man with black hair that was similar to his. It was just as black and was just as long. The man wore a mask covering his eyes, which was dark green in color. The mysterious man smiled, which looked more like a smirk to Shun's eyes.
Shun glared at the man. When the others noticed the screen they also glared at him.
"What's with the sudden hostility Battle Brawlers? Mad because I woke you up?" He laughed.
Runo was beyond angry at this man and was about to call him out on it until Shun put a hand out to stop her. Shun turned toward the man and spoke to him. "How do you know who we are? And why are we here?"
The man chuckled. "Well, luckily those are questions I can answer. You can say you've been chosen to participate in a universal Bakugan Tournament as a group. That means all those you see with you are your teammates now! I do hope you all get along. There isn't a war happening, last time I looked, for any of you to fight each other. You might be surprised to see some… old friends down there. The past is past, why not forgive and forget? Those of you who thought some of those you see are dead, well, they kind of were for some of them. Volt, Lync, Mylene, and Shadow were transferred to another dimension, so they weren't dead to begin with. Gill and Airzel were saved by the Sacred Orb before they were "killed" by Barodius, so they weren't dead to begin with either. Stoica on the other hand was, point blank, killed by Barodius, but because his death was an "accident concerning a Bakugan" we were able to bring him back… after pulling a few strings." The last part was not missed by Shun and half of the group. "The same involving Sid, Sellon, and Anubias. They were also considered Bakugan related deaths. The two alter egos you see, Spectra and Masquerade, are what you can call Shades of the Past. Masquerade's disappearance was apparently counted as a death relating to Bakugan, so that's why he's here as an individual. Spectra on the other hand was a bit trickier, but we managed."
The mysterious man lifted his hand and snapped his fingers. In front of the group appeared their Bakugan and gauntlets that showed the color of their preferred Attribute. Shun grabbed the gauntlet and instantly placed it on his arm. It was light and not at all bulky. It fit him perfectly. He then let his Bakugan all float around him.
"And how do I know about you? Well," the man chuckled a bit but it was lost. His voice adapted an edge to it. "You did betray my lord, and your previous leader."
Shun's eyes widened. "What do you mean?"
"Oh, don't play dumb Shun." The man smiled at him. "You know who I'm talking about. Although my lord won't do anything he thought it would be a great idea to invite the Battle Brawlers to a universal Bakugan Tournament to celebrate another victory! That would include us, or those that aren't busy taking out other enemies of our lord." He continued to smile, but his hand was resting underneath his chin. He wore black gloves and a dark green cloak around his shoulder. A lone Ventus Bakugan was seen on his left shoulder. "But, when you get to New Vestroia I guess you'll be asking around either way. You will see other groups from other planets our lord has conquered in a way to… open up the pathways of becoming one under a ruler."
Shun gritted his teeth. He couldn't be talking about Dan! Conquer? Ruler? Victory? Enemies? Who was this guy? It can't be Dan! All hope of denying it was shattered by the mysterious man, who smirked at him.
"It'll be fun to hear it come out of your mouth Shun. Who do you think I'm talking about? I see the doubt in your eyes. I also see you struggling to deny it. Come on Shun, it shouldn't be difficult, he is, of course, your best friend!" With that the man waved his hand and the screen disappeared, leaving the group in the dark void.
"S-Shun," Shun looked back to see Marucho. "H-he's not talking about D-Dan, is he?"
Shun looked to see that everyone's eyes were on him. They were just as confused as he felt. What happened to Dan? Why is he a Lord? Shun looked down to Marucho, the younger Aquos Brawler looked at him worriedly.
"Yeah," Shun said quietly. "He's talking about our Dan."
