IF, Neptune and Compa were heading to a small house on the edge of Planeptune. It was near the border between Planeptune and Lastation.

IF looked to Compa. "Any idea why Nep wanted us to come this way?"

Compa shook her head. "No idea."

Neptune, on the other hand, had a solumn look on her face as she walked behind her two friends. It was actually to visit someone special. Well, special to IF in a way - But Neptune wouldn't let IF know that just yet.

After a good while of walking, IF started to get the feeling she knew where they were going...

IF blinked as she spotted a rather tired-looking girl walking out of her house... She had red hair...

IF's eyes widened upon realising that Red was the one Neptune wanted to see. But... Why?

Neptune walked past IF and Compa when the Nurse and Guild Agent stopped. Red slowed to a stop as Neptune arrived in front of her.

"'Ey, Red! How's it going?"

Red smiled slowly at Neptune. "...Hi Purple Heart..." She said slowly, IF couldn't be sure, but it sounded like Red was... Exhausted. Very, very exhausted.

Neptune offered a sad smile at her. "... What did the Doc say?" She asked her.

Red looked to Neptune and her eyes said everything, "You know what he said."

"I had a feeling you'd say that..." Neptune took in a deep breath and turned around to IF and Compa, Compa had a general idea of what was happening so she just nodded. IF tilted her head.

Neptune put a hand on her hip and sighed. "Iffy... This isn't going to be easy to hear."

IF narrowed her eyes. "What the hell? What do you mean Nep? And Red? What's this about? Honestly?" IF was getting a bit irritated but nothing could have prepared her for the next words out of Neptune's mouth.

"Simply put IF, Red is..."

IF looked to Red who was looking at Neptune's back of her head.

Red looked to IF next and sighed. "I'm... Well..."

IF looked between them. "C'mon! Out with it! Tell me what's up."

Neptune glanced to Red. "Do you want me to tell her?"

Red nodded her head and stepped closer to IF. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner... But, there's a family thing that my Doctor only just told me... And... Well... Nep?"

Neptune looked to IF seriously, perhaps more seriously than she had ever done before, which made IF slightly nervous.

"Red is dying, IF."

Neptune's words floated over to IF as the Guild Agent blinked.

IF widened her eyes. "Wait..."

The next few moments were very quick for anyone to react to. Red slowly, at first, started to fall to her knees. Neptune grasped onto her and held her gently to her feet.

IF stepped back a few steps, this was all happening too quickly! Damn it!

Compa placed a hand on IF's shoulder. "Iffy... If what I'm reading into this is true... Then... Red doesn't have long."

Red smiled weakly as Neptune held her to her feet. "Nep... Please... Let me say goodbye."

Neptune nodded and helped Red over to IF, who, on instinct, held Red close to her.

"You're so stupid... Why didn't you tell me sooner?" IF whispered. "You could've got some treatment or something, healing grass or something! ANYTHING!" IF was trying her best to hold her tears back... But it was getting harder with every moment.

Red reached forwards with her right hand and cupped IF's chin with it. She smiled... Again. With that intoxicating innocent smile. "I'm so happy... IF."

IF gulped and nodded, feeling Red's right hand start to get cold. It was getting colder and colder until... The hand dropped.

Neptune lowered her head as did Compa.

"I had to bring you here, IF, buddy. I felt it was too sad for me to give you the news... In fact I- Oh, to heck with it."

There was a flash of light and then Purple Heart was standing there, with her wings. Hovering just above the group.

IF looked up at Purple Heart. "... Why?" She mumbled. "Why didn't you tell me sooner Nep?"

Purple Heart cleared her throat. "There was nothing that could stop her condition. She was going to die, one way or the other. At least this way, you get to say goodbye."

IF lowered her head and touched her forehead with Red's. It was still slightly warm, but rapidly getting cooler.

IF wrapped her arms around Red. The one innocent girl who had always loved IF and everything she did...

Ever since falling out off that tree onto her... She, Red, had always lived her life by the edge... And finally... Life had caught up with her.

Purple Heart got closer. "Iffy, I have to take Red to Celestia. I would offer you the chance to come with but-"

IF nodded with a sad sigh. "I know, Nep. I know." She grasped onto Red and offered a tear to her fallen companion.

Compa was doing her best to stand strong for IF, Neptune and Red but... She had tears in her eyes.

And so, Red was taken to Celestia by Purple Heart. Never to return in a physical form to IF again.

Some say, Red was in eternal peace.

Others, that Neptune held a funeral service for Red...

But I like to think.

No matter where Red would be...

She'd always be looking down on IF.

The Wind Walker of Gamindustri would never forget her either.

Goodbye Red.
