Prompt: Forty and Candace review the past

"Beck" Candace scolded her young daughter, who bounced excitedly on her queen bed.

"Sorry, Mommy," Beck said, laying down on the bed and showcasing her innocent pout. Candace sighed, as she caves in to her daughter's signature pout which she developed from her husband, Forty.

Candace lifted Beck into her arms and Beck curled her arms around her mother's neck. Candace savored the moment; as she did with every moment she had post-serial killer drama.

A knock on the door disturbed the peaceful atmosphere. Candace briefly tensed, and relaxed. She tried to forget, lock the memories away and focus on Beck and the rest of her family.

"Mommy, the door," Beck said, pointing at the direction of the door, oblivious to her mother's thoughts. Candace set down Beck, beside her various toys in the playroom and turned the corner away from the playroom and opened the Marble door.

Ellie stood on the porch her black her shining, dressed in a college Lions basketball jersey and her bag under her arm. Candace beamed at the sight of her adoptive daughter and immediately hugged her tightly.

Ellie was left an orphan after the death of her late sister, Delilah. Social services came to take Ellie to a local home and Forty stepped up and offered to adopt her. The rest was history, Candace and Ellie bonded over social media and they became an unlikely family brought together by tragedy. Beck called Ellie her sister despite no blood connections and Ellie did the same.

"Miss me much," Ellie said, breaking away with a faux smug expression. Candace laughed moving back into the house and Ellie followed, shutting the door quietly.

"How is college?" Candace questioned, giving Ellie a once over noticing a basketball jersey for the Lions. Ellie blushed and fix the collar of her new jersey.

"It's the best and the boys- "Ellie said trailing off, earning an eyebrow from Candace.

Candace gestured to the jersey. "A gift" Ellie admitted, her face scarlet.

"His name is Kit, he is a freshman and on the basketball team," Ellie said, showing Candace a picture of them at his first game.

"Cute, nice job"

"I wish Delilah was here to see it through" Ellie's voice cracked, and fresh tears spilled. Before Candace can react.

"El" The three-year-old squealed, unsteadily running and jumped to hug her sister. Ellie's frown faded and she grinned, spinning Beck around.

"I missed you"

"You too"

"Why won't Mommy let me come to her party?" Beck asks.

Ellie crouched down to Beck's level "See sometimes grown-ups have to grown-up things that are boring and no fun."

"Ok," Beck said, smiling back at Ellie and Candace gave her a grateful look.

"Come on let's have the best sleepover ever" Ellie cheers, leading Beck to the Cinema room holding Beck's favorite movie 'Frozen'.

At Forty's premiere, Candace walked the red-carpet arms linked with Forty. After solving the mystery of the murder of Guinevere Beck and getting Joe or Will arrest along with Love, Forty was world-famous and adapted the full story into a movie series.

"Forty, Forty. Any comment" Reporter's camera flashed momentarily blinding Candace and Forty.

"Yes, I believe this adaption is truthful to the true story. I work hard to make this and hope the review is good. I am also thankful to the cast and crew" Candace nudged Forty in the ribs to remind him not to be smug.

Forty glanced at Candace and added "I also want to dedicate these movies to the memory of Beck, Peach, Delilah, Henderson, and others who were murdered"

The reporters "aww" at the sweet gesture, Forty and Candace turned to leave only to be stopped by a young reporter, her hair combed back and dressed in an elegant dark brown pants suit.

"Candace, do you think you could ever forgive him?" The young reporter challenged, and all the cameras now focused on Candace's face.

The flashes of waking up in the truck handcuff, crawling out of her grave and nearly being stabbed with a bottle by Love all came to mind. Forty squeezed her arm and comfort her enough to answer honestly. "No"

"Why not? Don't you believe in forgiveness"

Candace sensing the reporter gunning for a juicy story and avoid that trap. "It's hard and I just can't"

Forty steered Candace away from the prying reporters and into the lounge before the movie showing. Various Celebes were chatting, drinking and eating in the extravagant lounge.

"Are you ok?" Forty whispered into her ear, hugging her closer. Candace shook her head and hid in Forty's chest, oblivious to curious stares they received.

Forty stroked her hair and bend down kisses her hair soothingly. "I love you so much"

Candace grinned losing herself in Forty's chocolate brown eyes "I love you too". Candace brought her lips to Forty's in a sweet passionate kiss.

Forty groans turned on from the luscious kiss. Taking a step back from Candace aware of being in a public place. Candace smirked, grabbing his hand and rubbing circles into his palm.

Forty adored Candace and his girls but the wound his sister, Love, left still stung to think about. Even though she made him believe he killed their Au pair and attempted to kill Candace he loved his sister and she loves him too.

Forty ran with the pregnancy test in his hand, he was in shock they hadn't been dating that long. He didn't know what he was feeling but he likes Candace, maybe, even loves her.

Candace had left a voice mail informing him to meet her at a lockup. Detecting the urgency in her voice his heart start beating faster. If her theories about Will were true, Candace was in trouble and his heart stopped.

The lockup wasn't hard to find as they were all numbered. Outside were two figures and looking closer he recognized Love and Candace.

"Love, Candace" Forty called out, and they both turn around. Candace stepped back, distancing herself from Love's aggressive stance. Love twist around to see Forty with the cracked bottleneck in view.

"What's going on?" Forty said, stowing the pregnancy test in his back pocket.

Candace pleaded in her gaze trying to communicate what was happening. Love shifted in front of Candace blocking her view of Forty.

"Forty help me, she just like Joe" Candace pleads, running around Love only to be cut short by Love capturing Candace by the neck and threatening her with the bottle.

Forty panicked "Love, stopped please"

"I can't she is going to ruin everything," Love said, tightening her grip of the bottle drawing blood.

"Love, please don't do this. Think about what you are doing"

"I am protecting you. She used you to get into Will's life and she is going to ruin Will's life and mine. I can't let that happen" Love adjusted the bottle ready for the killing strike.

"Love, I love her please don't do this" Forty admits for the first time and catches Candace's eye directly saying it to her.

"You don't, she has manipulated you just like our Au pair" Love adds venomously.

"Do this for me. Please don't kill her and my unborn child" Forty asks, hoping to get through to her. Candace gives half a grin and trying to struggle harder against Love's grasp.

"I don't believe you," Love said, uncertain.

Forty removes the pregnancy test from his back pocket and shows it to Love. Love seeing the positive test, released Candace who ran into Forty arms.

That was the last time Forty saw Love free and know she is behind bars for attempted murder. She wasn't charged for the murder of the Au pair due to her lawyer and influence.
