Harry Potter and the Soul Bond Surprise

Harry was walking numbly away from the Headmaster's office, shock and betrayal running rampant across his mind, his numbness quickly turning into anger as he thought about that blasted Dumbledore and his bloody prophecy. His anger became a shield protecting him from his sorrow and pain and so he focused on his anger to get him to a place where he could be alone and completely drown in his sorrow

So, I'm part of some god-forsaken prophecy! That's why my life completely revolves around that god-forsaken bastard Voldemort!

Now, I understand not wanting to tell an eleven-year-old that he is in a death match with a dis-incorporated Dark Lord ,but how can he explain not telling me last year when Voldemort literally CAME BACK FROM THE DEAD!

Also, isn't he the most widely respected man in the world? So, how come we both got slandered by the public when he could most likely shut down all the rumors with a single speech?

Why would he wait and investigate instead of joining the fight?

Why would he let Snape goad Sirius like that? Or not let him out in his ANIMAGUS form for a walk down or up the street. It's not like the Ministry was looking for him there!

ALSO! How could the CHIEF WARLOCK of the Winzengomet and the SUPREME MUGWUMP of the International Confederation of Wizards not arrange a court case for a man who would agree to be administered and questioned under VERITASERUM- the COMPLETE TRUTH potion.

The more I think about the last almost 5 years in the magical world the more everything does not make sense.

And now... Sirius is gone...

And with that all of Harry's anger, frustration and mild confusion with Dumbledore's actions was replaced with a deep sorrow and longing for the man he truly considered his father. While the Weasley's were great and all, Harry felt that they were very restraining and congestive, especially Mrs. Weasley (though he would tell no one), He also felt that they restricted his understanding and exploration of the magical world.

But Sirius wasn't like that and he let him have fun and explore and he only restricted Harry if it would end with Harry getting seriously injured.

As he thought sorrowfully about the loss he felt deep in his heart, he didn't notice he was about to round a corner. He only slightly woke up from his daze when he heard the tell-tale sounds of Fllch's grumbling and knowing that Filch would not him go and just wanting to be alone as soon as possible to slowly understand the loss he felt.

So, he just turned around and took the long way back to the common room. He trudged along mad and confused at Dumbledore's actions, but most of all he felt just broken and dejected and depressed.

He finally arrived at the common room where he had to wake up the Fat Lady.

"Why are you waking me up at this ungodly hour?!" She exclaimed after seeing him

"Could you please just let me in, I haven't had the best day" he replied softly

Seeing how he looked like a kicked puppy the Fat Lady visibly softened and tentatively asked
"Do you wish to talk about it?"

"Not really, no"

You might feel better..."

"Maybe you're right", he answered hoping it would let him enter and finally be alone.

"I might be able to help", she said softly

"You know Sirius Black? Well he was innocent and my godfather... and he died today. I left the school to save him as I thought he was in trouble. But it was a trap and all that happened was that he had to come to save me... ", Harry paused at that as he thought about what he was about to say next.

"... and he got shot at by Bellatrix Lestrange and he fell backward into the Veil..."

At this the Fat Lady gasped "Not the Veil!"

"Yes, and then finally Dumbledore arrives stops Voldemort and forces him to withdraw. The Minister arrives and sees Voldemort alive and kicking and finally believes me. Then we come back, and Dumbledore tells me about this prophecy that means that only I can kill Voldemort. But mostly brushes aside the death of a man who was basically my ONLY FATHER FIGURE EVER!"

By now a crowd had formed around and inside the Fat Lady's portrait. Only this broke him from his towering rage and in a very meek voice he asked," Could you all not tell anyone about what I just told you, I don't want anyone to know. I need to process it first."

Reluctantly the entire audience agreed and finally the Fat Lady let him through the portrait hole and into the Gryffindor common room.

The common room was empty and devoid of noise except for the crackling of fire in the fireplace. Harry slowly walked over to the couch directly in front of the fireplace. He slowly sat down and then immediately rolled into a ball.

The first foreign sound since Harry entered the common room cut through the area like a knife bringing the entire area to resonate with the soft sounds of a young boy sobbing over his loss. Harry devastated and finally alone, removes the mask he wore since arriving at the school. He sobbed till he couldn't anymore. He finally at the brink off dawn entered his bedroom and crawled under the sheets to the waiting arms of his nightmares.

Harry awoke from his fitful slumber before the rest of his dorm-mates and so he softly got up and headed to the bathroom. After a quick shower and changing, Harry walked out of the common room and through the portrait hole. He was heading towards the Hospital Wing to check on his friends.

As he walked to the Hospital Wing he continued to think about Dumbledore.

Why did Snape have to teach me Occlumency? I'm sure there could have been someone else that could teach me. Also why was my training so lax and not even real teaching, its seems unlikely that a ful-frontal assault on my mind was the only way to learn. And why were there no books on the topic and how to learn Occlumency and Legilemency.

Why was Dumbledore making all these decisions for everyone and why did no one think to inform the guy who saw him return and had his blood spilt for his return.

As Harry mused about these thoughts, he arrived at the Hospital Wing. By then he had reinforced his conclusion that something was amiss with Dumbledore and his planning and intentions.

Entering the Hospital Wing swiftly, Harry found his way over to where his friends lay to find all except for Ron to be awake and well. Ron still had some damage from the brain and was peacefully sleeping their effects off with the help of a dreamless sleep potion. Harry found out that Madam Pomprey would release all of them except Ron tomorrow night before dinner.

Harry stayed at the wing for 3 hours after which he left and then roamed the grounds. It was peaceful and let him contemplate all he had been thinking about. As he thought he concluded that something was wrong and that some game was being played by Dumbledore and he was a pawn in it.

Harry arrived at the Great Hall very late and when he finished eating there were very few people left. Leaving quickly Harry roamed the halls trying to be alone and understand what his life had come to. He was confused due to what conclusions he had come to. Every way he looked at it, Dumbledore had to have some ulterior motive to act like this.

He kept trying to work the question more but he felt a type of barrier stopping him in some way, it made him feel like he should be able to think about it more but was being blocked from being able to. This concerned him but he just let it be and returned to grieving about his friend, godfather and a type of father. His pain had not dulled only increased however he had understood that everyone must go, and that Sirius would prank him to hell if he continued to sulk like this so he decided that he wouldn't mope, and no matter how much it would hurt he would celebrate and remember him and not moan over losing him and ,if he was thinking on the right track, avenge his death and bring both his actual and his indirect killer to justice.

If he was understanding the facts right, then there was a puppet master... or a chess player moving everyone around him as if they were his puppets or pawns.

After a while he looked at his watch and noticed it was 11-well past curfew, so he brought out and put on his Invisibility cloak and took out the Marauder's Map. Both items which he had taken with him at the beginning of the day in case of this exact type of situation.

He couldn't even look at the Map without thinking of Sirius, but Harry felt okay as all his thoughts were of his happy memories and his prank stories. Remembering the promise he made himself he stopped the tears that accompied the sadness and focused on the happy memories, the memories of his godfather... however few there were in the short time they were together.

Using the happy thoughts he pushed on and looked across the map, trying to find a safe way to his common room. As his eyes glided across the map, he suddenly saw it and he felt a deep wrongness within him and suddenly he was barreling across the castle without knowing exactly why except that he felt there was something wrong about to occur and he had to stop it.
