Chapter 2 – Time out for Number Fun!

Summary: I don't really remember what happened last night - basically, I was partying with some friends and then walking to go home... Next thing I know I'm waking up in Traverse Town and inhabiting the body of Sora (KH1) - At least the Keyblade is with me... also, did I mention I was a girl in my past life?

Stepping inside the Accessory Shop, my gaze immediately turned its attention towards Cid – the man who ran it and also a Gummi Ship engineer. He didn't notice me just yet since he was staring at the crystal in the glass case – wonder what's so special about that thing by the way?

Also, one thing I never understood is why Sora calls him 'gramps' in the game since he isn't exactly that old yet… in his early 40s sure but he kind of looks like he is in his 20/30s.

At this very moment, Cid turned to look at who had entered his shop while wiping away his blond facial stubble hair. "Hey there, how can I…" He stopped speaking upon his blue eyes facing and look at who had entered the Accessory Shop. "Aww, man… it's just a kid." He finished and slumped in a disappointed tone.

I just frowned and pouted. "Hey… I'm not kid! I'm only 14 – which means I'm a man!" I protested only for Cid to chuckle and twirled his toothpick around his mouth. "Relax, kid… I'm only joking. Jeez, the youth of today… so, what brings you to my shop?" He inquired.

"Well, I'm new in Traverse Town and I'm wondering if you've seen any of my friends around? Name's Sora, by the way." I introduced myself – why 'Sora' instead of my real name? No longer a girl and I'm still preparing to have a lot of fun in my new body and during this little adventure.

Cid whistled – from the sounds of it, he was impressed at the fact that I was aware of what town this was. "Already familiar with the name, huh? Not bad… where'd you learn it from?" The owner of the shop inquired.

"On my island… we have some books and stories about the outside worlds and the fact that Traverse Town serves as a refugee for all who have lost their worlds to the Heartless and the darkness." I explained as Cid's eyes widened in surprised before he grinned once more.

"Whelp, ain't ya a smart cookie, kid! Not bad at all! Basically, that's the truth of this here town – serves as a hub for all people who have lost their worlds to the Heartless. Say, I betcha know what they are as well, right?" He asked me as I nodded.

"Creatures of pure darkness – coming of the darkness in people's hearts. There's darkness in every heart no matter how pure it may be." I explained – turns out my knowledge of playing the games can come quite in handy.

Cid gave a nod – but there was a sad expression on his face. "Sad, but honest fact… in any case, what your friends look like, Sora?" He inquired.

"One of them is a girl called Kairi – short auburn hair, blue eyes and she has a raindrop necklace. The other is a boy called Riku – a little bit of a sarcastic show-off. Silver hair with bangs and blue-green eyes with muscular build." I explained though I didn't mention that they weren't here since I knew exactly where Riku is currently at – in the process of becoming a slave for that bitch Maleficent and Xehanort's Heartless – Ansem.

"I see, I see… hate to break to ya kid but I haven't had any visitors with those names in my shop. Maybe they're around town somewhere – perhaps check the Second and Third District? Worth a shot if you wanna find your friends." Cid suggested.

'Or maybe they aren't here cause Kairi is missing and Riku is at Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden. Not gonna tell him any of this though…' I thought in my mind as I gave a nod at this suggestion and just answered. "Whelp, I guess I better start looking for my friends then."

"Good luck, Sora. Hope ya find them – you ever need a helping hand, come back to the shop. Best of luck to ya!" He wished me as nodded once more and left the store.

Alright, alright… since Riku and Kairi aren't in Traverse Town I supposed I better pretend I'm looking for them as to play in character for now… might as well explore and keep an eye out for any moody Final Fantasy VIII characters that are no doubt preparing to attack me. I know you are hiding somewhere Leon and awaiting to assault me… not gonna give you the satisfaction to knock me out this time though.

I'm in control now! Inserting an evil laugh inside my mind and then moving onwards – with checking out the Second District! Another thing I never really understood about Traverse Town as a whole is why aren't there more Disney or Final Fantasy characters… could the game really not fit a large population of NPCs due to the designing and memory?

Maybe if they had more time to work out the bugs and redesign it – could have come out as a much bigger and more improved version with lots of NPCs from shows, games, manga, etc. – Then again, its just a theory, not sure if its true or not. Would have been cool though to include other NPCs to make this game a little more alive…

Speaking of the game, one thing I'm really planning on doing is making sure that I put a wrench into old man Xehanort's plans for the real Organization XIII – along with causing mischief and such.

Seconds later, I had passed through the doorway leading to the Second District and by my calculations I should be seeing the man whose heart is stolen by the Soldier Heartless any second now… ah, there he is!

The unknown man stumbles in front of me and onto the ground – his face is a shocked one. The glowing heart comes out from his chest and soon disappears into a dark vortex – in its place, a Soldier Heartless appears while the man just fades away. Poor bastard, wish I could have done something to save him yet its too late now…

Not giving a chance for the soldier Heartless to fade, I took out 'Kingdom Key' and immediately sliced it in half. It disintegrated into smoke but I didn't celebrate since more of the creatures showed up to attack me – this made me grin.

"This is going to be so much fun." I admitted to myself as I began my attack on the Heartless.

Slash! One/two go down after a couple of hits. Swish! Cut two in half as they disintegrated into smoke. Stab! Another one goes down and I couldn't help but grin.

They're so easy to take down yet I should be cocky since more will show up out of nowhere and attempt to take my heart due to them being attracted to the Keyblade.

Finally, I got to the last one and destroyed it before releasing a sigh of relief – only for a minute though since more were no doubt preparing to show up. Tossing the Keyblade over my shoulder I began to walk around the Second District and explore it properly while 'searching' for Riku and Kairi. Actually, I'm more into looking around than find my 'friends'…

It's an asshole thing to say but I'm not Sora since I was originally born a girl and not a boy – plus, I'm in control now. So, it's high time to go and explore!

My first stop was the hotel – nothing special about though and no NPCs in sight yet. Really wished they would have added more characters to the game to make it more interesting but oh well. Back outside!

The next few places I explored were the Gizmo Shop were I picked a fight with some Soldier Heartless yet again before heading onto the roof. Tried clearing out the wooden boards that were blocking my way to the clock bell but no such luck… guess I'm gonna need my faithful companions help when we come back here later.

Jumping and landing down gently in the square, I was surprised at how no bones or anything else in this body was broken – man, that Sora definitely has superhuman strength in him… or its possible that gravity is a bitch in the games.

I have a feeling that Isaac Newton is somewhat rolling in his grave right about now back on Earth. In any case, my next destination was the house where the Dalmatians were staying with their owners who weren't around the house unfortunately… typical.

Now I've never watched the animated version of 101 Dalmatians but I had a huge weakness for puppies plus seeing Pongo and Perdita without their pups in the game literally broke my heart – Kelly, make a mental note to find the missing dalmatians and return them to the parents.

After petting Pongo and Perdita, I left the house and proceed to make my way towards the Third District. Upon pushing the doors away and entering, I was ambushed by the Heartless once more.

A swish and a stab later… and it was all over. There really wasn't much to see in the Third District – couldn't use any type of Magic yet on the door to access Merlin's headquarters or power-up that exposed cable cord. At least I could unlock the door leading back to the First District…

Popping in 'Kingdom Key' inside the Keyhole, I heard a 'click' noise as the doors leading to the First District were now unlocked. Bada-bam! Whelp, there really isn't much to do in Traverse Town since the NPCs were very minor and only a certain amount of shops were unlocked.

Guess I better head on to see Cid and 'pretend' that I haven't found my 'friends' yet… I'm such an ass but whatever. Passing through the doors I was immediately bombarded by another group of Heartless – shadows in particular.

Taking care of them quickly, I immediately didn't waste any time and ran straight towards Cid's store. Bolting through the doors, the engineer almost jumped in surprise.

"Wah! O-oh… it's you kid. What are you doing standing around!? The Heartless have appeared all over town! You better get yourself to safety on the double!" Cid advised me.

I resisted the urge to roll my eyes since I literally had a Keyblade by my side but I just nodded – also, before I entered, I dismissed Kingdom Key since I didn't want Cid to freak out just yet.

Leaving the store, I began to wonder what my next move would be – either more exploration or finding a way to explore without the use of the Gummi Ship. Actually, I wonder if I can find a Star Shard or conjure a portal to take me to other worlds.

There's really not much to do in Traverse Town – all I know is that all shops and houses are closed due to the Heartless appearing. Plus, this town is a literal graveyard without so many NPCs or the game being more developed. Ugh, again – if they just had the time…

"They'll come at you out of nowhere." Ah, there he is – the emo of Final Fantasy VIII: Squall Leonhart or Leon for short.

Turning around I came face to face with the same emo that provoked and attacked Sora in the first game – long brown hair, blue eyes and the scar above his nose.

"And they'll keep coming at you – as long as you continue to wield the Keyblade. But why… why would it chose a kid like you?" He asked himself and faced palmed at the same time.

I just snorted and grinned. "Hmph… shouldn't judge a book by its cover. You should be aware of this, Squall Leonhart." I teased him by telling his entire nickname.

Needless to say, he froze in shock as he stared at me like I was somekind of knock-it-all or medium. "Impossible… nobody else calls me that except for my friend Yuffie at times whenever she teases me. Who are you!?" He demanded my name.

"Name's Sora… and I'm not planning on telling you anything else especially about the Keyblade." I answered yet Leon wasn't amused by my answer. "Kid… let me clarify you on something – you aren't in any position to make demands nor are you worthy of wielding such a weapon. Either you give me that weapon or I'll take it from you by force. What's your choice going to be?" He asked with a hint of hostility.

Yet all it did was amuse me – not gonna happen Emo Man. "My answer is this… you can pry 'Kingdom Key' from my cold dead hands." I answered yet Leon just glared at me and pulled out his Gun-blade.

"Makes things easier for me then." He told me while hoisting his Gun-blade over his shoulder. The fight began with me holding 'Kingdom Key' in a defensive pose as Leon jumps in front of me and raises his weapon to strike – only problem for him is I blocked his attack and move sideways.

Delivering a couple of hits to the exposed part I managed to knock him forward yet he quickly regained consciousness and launched a fireball using his Gun-blade directly at me – too bad I blocked it, Leon! Yet he wasn't done since this attack allowed him to charge forward only for me to sideswept and avoid it.

"Nice try, old man!" I teased as I attacked him from behind yet again – he was knocked back a bit. "Ugh… not yet! Also, I'm not that old!" He yelled as he jumped in front of me and brought the Gun-blade down only for my Keyblade to clash with his weapon.

"Ugh… don't wanna hurt you but you are forcing my… h-hand!" He said as he applied pressure only for me to do the same.

"Not… gonna give you… this!" I yelled back as I released my hold and sideswept only for Leon to turn around and smirk. "Not gonna fall for the same trick again." He told me as he attacked me back with his Gun-blade and knocked me forward onto the ground.

Damn it! I should have anticipated that move… that was dumb of me. I'm such an idiot… luckily, I have an idea on how I can turn this to my advantage.

Deciding to play 'unconscious', I closed my eyes while hearing Leon's never-ending release of sighs due to the fight – it was only for a minute or two. How can he be that tiring already? I'm not that tired yet…

"Kid… you've got some moves… but you are a novice at best. Now let's see that Keyblade of yours." Footsteps were heard as he told me this.

Sorry to upset you, Leon… but the Keyblade remains with me. Good try on knocking me out cold though… shame that you fell for my trick.

Opening my eyes slowly, I saw that Leon's gloved hand was about to reach for 'Kingdom Key' and knew that I only had seconds to act before he got suspicious. Grinning evilly, I turned my body and blurted out. "Peekaboo!"

Leon was surprised. "What!? I thought you-" He didn't finish as I slammed 'Kingdom Key' onto the back of his head. His eyes rolled upwards and then I realized something – Oh, fuck! No, no, no-

His unconscious form crashed on top of me as I groaned – should have really moved when I had the chance before Leon went out cold due to my actions… actually, wait… did I…

Checking his pulse on the neck, I felt that it was strong. Okay, good – he's just knocked out. Glad I didn't kill him – I maybe an ass but the last thing I need is me committing mass murder.

"Oh, my god! Leon!" A worried teenage voice yelled – Yuffie Kisaragi from Final Fantasy VII. Short black hair, blue-grey eyes and a metal headband around her forehead.

I looked behind and saw that Yuffie was covering her mouth in shock – no doubt due to thinking that Leon was killed or in a coma. Rushing quickly towards his body, she kneeled and checked his pulse before sighing in relief. Then she turned her attention towards me – a nasty glare was displaced on her face.

"What the hell was that for!? You could have killed my friend! All we wanted was to get you to safety before the Heartless did – you didn't need to knock him out cold!" She yelled at me – worry was displaced on her face.

"Hey! He provoked me first – all I did was self-defense! Plus, I didn't even get a chance to explain – he literally attacked me first!" I protested yet Yuffie snapped back. "Only because he was worried about you becoming food for the Heartless! You didn't need to go overboard and resort to dirty tricks – I maybe do things like that at times but not when evil creatures lurk about!"

Ouch! For a hyperactive ninja she certainly can be scary when the situation demands it. Better not continue to provoke her lest I get more screaming in my ear.

Yuffie continued to glare me for another couple of seconds until she sighed heavily and pushed Leon's unconscious form away – she then extended her hand to help me get up. "Don't try any funny tricks or I'll knock you out as payback for my friend." She warned me as I took her hand and got up.

Dusting myself off, I dismissed 'Kingdom Key' before stretching myself – Yuffie, on the other hand, was staring at me with a hostile look. "Your name's Sora, right?" She asked me.

"Yep." I answered with a nod before she asked me another question. "And since you know who Leon is… you know who I am, correct?"

I nodded once more. "Your name is Yuffie Kisaragi – lived in Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden alongside your friends Aerith, Cloud, Leon and Cid." I answered as Yuffie was surprised at what she heard.

"Y-yeah… how'd you know? Actually, for that matter, who are you exactly Sora?" She asked me as I placed my hands behind my head. "Well… it's hard to explain… but I'm aware of certain things that will happen – names too." I answered and hoped that she would buy all of the things that I said.

"Like a prophet?" She asked me with a doubtful look as I nodded but all she did was sigh. "Alright then… I take you know what town this and what exactly the Heartless are?" She inquired as I nodded.

"The creatures that come out of the darkness in people's hearts… its unknown where they originated from… but right now, they are lead by a man called Ansem – the Seeker of Darkness." I answered and Yuffie became surprised once more.

"W-what… how did you… Ugh… this is hurting my brain…" She didn't finish and rubbed her head before sighing once more. "Okay, prophet boy… I don't know who exactly you are and I'm not sure how much I'm believing in the fact that you are aware of some things along with my name and that of my friends… however I need you to come with me so we can discuss some things." She told me yet I remained doubtful.

"What happens if I do come… will you assault me again?" I challenged her words only for her to sigh. "Look… we didn't want to attack you or anything like that… you have to understand that we've been holding out in Traverse Town for a decade and have been awaiting the arrival of the 'Chosen One'. We're sorry about the 'provoked' attack but we're just on the edge since you are classified as the sacred 'Key' and we really don't want a kid as young as you to die." She explained.

I pouted. "Oy! I'm not a kid! I'm only 14 which means I'm a man!" I protested yet Yuffie rolled her eyes and just grinned amusingly. "Whatever you say, 'Mr. Man'… but in all seriousness, we're not the bad guys or anything like that. All we want is to explain some things over. Please, Sora…" She pleaded with me in a serious yet sad tone.

Ordinarily, the real Sora would have been doubtful about this… but I wasn't the real Sora and technically Yuffie was one of the calmest yet laid-back NPCs in the game… so I didn't need much convincing.

"Alright, alright… I get your point." I agreed with her as she gave me a thankful nod.

"Good… also, mind helping me carry Squall back? Normally I'd ask Cid or Aerith for help but… right now they're busy explaining things over to some 'special' folks." She told me as I nodded.

Both of us went over to pick up Leon's unconscious form as we slumped his shoulders over ours. "Oof! Squall… what the hell do you eat? You must weigh a hundred pounds or something!" Yuffie asked her unconscious companion yet received no answer.

"No… k-kidding! Oof! How much does he weigh?" I inquired yet Yuffie shrugged as best she could.

"Sorry about the 'fight' again…" Yuffie apologized.

"It's fine… let's just get him over to the hotel." I suggested with Yuffie nodding.

Whelp, the meeting with the Heartless resistance had occurred but I still had a couple more things to do before this little 'adventure of mine' begins for real.

I can't wait… things will definitely never be the same… again.

With me in charge… Ansem, Xemnas – hell, even Xehanort are literally doomed!

Author's Notes: Bada-bam! Chapter 2 is finally done and ready to read – hope you enjoy it cause this is just the beginning of a glimpse of what Sora/Kelly will be doing in the story – an example being Sora/Kelly using a dirty trick to knock out Leon at the end of the fight. Lots of tricks and turns will happen in this story – especially towards the villains.

My mind and imagination will work wonders with this story from the looks of it! So evil and no breaks! Mwhahahahaha!

Enjoy reading and happy evilness! XP

Happy day to all of you!
