AN: Wow, there was an incredible response to the first chapter. I honestly can't believe how many of you guys favourited, followed and reviewed the first chapter. I literally had over 50 emails and that was in less than one day. I plan on making Saturday my regular update day (that's New Zealand time so probably Friday for a lot of people) so tune in around then for the next chapter.

Disclaimer: I regret to inform you that I do not own PJO or Avengers (do I need to put in a disclaimer before each chapter?)

Jason

Jason liked Manhattan. More specifically, Central Park. It truly was beautiful, with its lush green foliage and somewhat crisp air, it was definitely somewhere he would love to take Piper for a nice break away from the constant monster battling and creature slaying. However, he did not realise how big it was until they were dropped off at the wrong end and had to trek through under the midday sun on a mostly empty stomach.

As they both walked, Percy constantly rambling about why he believed that celery is actually the cruelest monster of them all, Jason was lost in thought. He couldn't remember the last time that they had just taken time off away from camp with no monster attacks. That was when he heard the growling. Immediately alert, Jason quickly glanced over at Percy, who had also fallen quiet. Thank goodness for the small miracles he thought, then he remembered that the only reason that Percy had shut up was because of the imminent monster attack.

Jason sighed. Maybe Central Park isn't such a great getaway location after all.

Jason heard as Percy uncapped Riptide with its signature shiinnnkk sound, and then paled as a crucial fact registered in his head, he had left his gladius back at camp and only had a small dagger strapped to his leg. He cursed and Percy looked over curiously.

"I left my gladius back at camp."

Percy smacked his forehead. Hard.

"Hey, take it easy Kelp Head, everybody knows you need all the brain cells you can get."

"Yeah? Well I wasn't the idiot who left their weapon behind." Percy retorted heatedly.

Heat flooded Jason's face as he mumbled "I didn't think our luck would have been that bad."

Percy stared incredulously at Jason. "Two sons of the big three taking a relaxing stroll through Manhattan and you thought nothing would go wrong?! Jeez Jason, I know you've been hit by a brick before but I didn't think your skull was that thick."

"Shut up, Percy."

It was at that moment that the monster hiding in the greenery decided to make an appearance by roaring loudly and unleashing its snake-headed tail at the two demigods. Jason's eyes widened as he and Percy ducked as a billow of fire erupted from the lion's head.

"Oh come on! Of all the monsters, it had to be the Chimera!" Percy grumbled

"Percy duck!" Jason yelled as the lion's head attempted to bite his friend's face off.

Percy quickly rolled under the beast and slashed his sword at the incoming snake head. The severed snake head landed on the ground with a sickening squelch and Jason grabbed his dagger and threw it at the lions head which was once again trying to make a meal out of Percy's face. The dagger pierced the monster's eye and it roared in agony.

"Why in the name of Hades does it keep trying to eat my face?!" Percy exclaimed.

"Just kill the darn thing!" Jason yelled back

"Shut up Grace, you didn't even bring your gladius!"

Jason mumbled intelligibly and once again continued to watch the fight between Percy and the Chimera, completely unaware of the infuriated, fat lady creeping up on him.

Jason felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up and he whipped around to be faced with the one and only Mother of all monsters.

"Ahhh the Son of Jupiter, you have killed many of my precious children and now I will kill you!" Echidna howled.

Jason rolled his eyes at the cliché and rolled under her enormous arms which were quickly spouting out claws and growing scales. Percy, seeing him unarmed, quickly threw him Riptide and grabbed the dagger out of the Chimera's eye and rolled expertly underneath the beast, slashing its underside as he did so.

Jason grabbed Riptide and sliced off Echidna's hideous reptilian arm. He evaded her second arm slashing at his chest and thrust Riptide straight into her back, turning her into dust instantly.

He then ran back to where Percy was to give him a hand, only to see Percy stab the Chimera right in the gut, sending it back to Tartarus. Percy dropped the dagger, grimacing and clutching at his arm.

"Your stupid dagger is way too short. The darn thing got me in the arm." Percy grumbled, reminding Jason once again that he was stupid for not bringing a weapon with him.

"Go eat some ambrosia?" Jason suggested, wondering what the issue was.

Percy's annoyance dissipated and a sheepish expression took place on his face.

"I may or may not have forgotten to pack some." He mumbled

It was Jason's turn to stare at Percy. Jason smacked his forehead and gestured towards his bag, which was lying on the ground half open.

"Jason, you know you've been knocked out far too many times already, are you trying to give yourself more brain damage than you already have?"

"Percy?"

"Yes, Jason?"

"Shut up."

Natasha

When Agent Hill came up to her and handed her a pathetic excuse for a file, and gave her orders straight from Fury to discreetly tail the subject of said file, Natasha was only slightly confused. She carefully opened the file and took a quick look at its contents.

Name: Perseus 'Percy' Jackson

Underneath the name, there was a picture that was clearly not taken recently of a young boy with dark hair and eerily green eyes with a lopsided, troublemaker grin on his face.

That's when it hit her. She knew this boy, and although it was from many years ago, how could she forget the teenager who practically saved her life.

Flashback

Natasha was on a mission to track down the killer of 4 young men who had had all of the blood drained from their bodies. When she had been given the file, she had been utterly confused as to who would want to do such a thing when she realised that this was New York – strange things happened.

So, she tracked down the best lead she had to a nice apartment (a lovely change from the typical abandoned warehouse) where she expertly picked the lock and silently stepped inside, blending in perfectly with the surrounding shadows.

Natasha crept down the hallway until she heard voices coming from one of the bedrooms. She gently pried the door open and gasped at the sight before her.

A young, quite pretty woman had her mouth firmly perched on the neck of a man, blood pouring from the open wound that she had clearly created with a set of fangs.

What the heck? Natasha thought

"Put your hands where I can see them and step away from him." She commanded, not really expecting a blood thirsty lunatic of a woman to comply.

The vampire? hissed at her and lunged at her, small daggers in her hand aimed directly at her face.

No, not small daggers claws. Natasha realised.

She ducked underneath the claws and stood back and fired three times, two aimed at the spine and one at the head. Her signature kill shots.

When the vampire lady got up looking completely unharmed, Natasha wasn't sure what she should do.

She holstered her gun and pulled out a twin set of daggers when she heard the front door slam open. This caught the attention of the vampire lady as well and she turned around quickly to be met with a baseball bat to the face.

Natasha watched as the lady fell on the floor, dead. She looked up in surprise and was met with a pair of the weirdest shade of green eyes that she had ever seen.

"How did you do that?" She mumbled, curiosity lacing her voice.

The boy gave her a sheepish look and rubbed the back of his neck.

"Uhhh, lucky shot?" He shrugged, sounding like even he didn't believe what he was saying.

Natasha narrowed her eyes at him and smirked internally when his eyes widened marginally at her deadly expression. She let the lie go, after all, who was she to interrogate her 'saviour'.

"What's your name, kid?" She asked, hoping that she would get at least one honest answer from the boy.

"Umm, it's Percy, Percy Jackson." He extended the hand that wasn't clasped in a death grip around his baseball bat.

She put her daggers away and extended her own arm out.

"Natalie. Natalie Rushman." She responded. If this 'Percy' thought anything of her alias, he didn't say anything but met her own hand with a firm clasp.

"Why did you come here Percy?" She questioned

"Well - you see - I - um live on the floor below? So when I heard gunfire I grabbed my uhh -" He looked down at his bat and squinted, before resuming "- bat?"

Natasha could easily tell he was lying, but didn't push.

"Okay then, you should probably head back to your place then. I'll sort this out. I'm with the government by the way. FBI." Natasha reached into her back pocket and pulled out her fake badge.

Percy took a step closer and squinted hard at the proffered badge, before sighing in defeat and taking a step back. Natasha cocked her head to the side and awaited an answer.

Percy shrugged and muttered something which she believed to be 'dyslexia' before he began to speak once again.

"Well, it was nice meeting you Miss Rushman, but I uhh, have to go now. Bye!" Percy looked like he was about to bolt when he suddenly remembered something.

He snapped his fingers and the air itself seemed to move.

"It would be great if you didn't tell anyone about me."

For some reason, Natasha couldn't help but agree. That one sentence had her completely convinced that she should not only do exactly as he said, but forget everything about the boy, and eventually, the entire mission. It was as if Percy Jackson didn't even exist.

End of Flashback

Natasha gasped as she remembered all the forgotten details of that strange mission. If there was one thing that could be said for sure, it was that Percy Jackson was a very strange boy.
