I do not own ideas/concepts/characters from Miraculous Ladybug. They are from the creative mind of Thomas Astruc and his Zagtoon team. Along with all of you, I am just egarly awaiting the coming episodes. This Fanfic is a AU, inspired by the final face off with Hawkmoth in Chat Blanc episode. In this version Ladybug, Chat Noir, and Hawkmoth are all still oblivious to each other's identities.

Chat Noir flew at Hawkmoth, blocking his cane from striking Ladybug, who was already on her knees. His arms shook as he desperately channeled all his strength against the skilled opponent.

Hawkmoth growled in exertion, and perried his attack, making Chat's baton slip to one side. With one swift movement Chat Noir was struck in the side of his head by Hawkmoth's elbow. The impact made his ears ring. Chat Noir winced, but sprung back at the Butterfly weilder. All of his lessons in martial arts and fencing...not to mention his years as one of Paris' heros...all of it, he summoned for this moment. This was the final battle of Hawkmoth.

Chat Noir braced his legs against the metal railing in Hawkmoth's underground lair. Then he sprang forward, knocking him back enough, that Chat Noir could get to Ladybug's side.

"Milady are you alright?" Chat Noir asked worriedly, glancing down to her.

"Just catching my breath Kitty," she tried to put on a smile through gritted teeth.

Chat Noir stood protectively in front of her. With one hand he held up his baton, and with the other he helped Ladybug to her feet.

Hawkmoth approached them, this time slowly, like a confident predator toying with its prey. "After all these years I finally have you here, back where it all began. After tonight the past WILL be rewritten!"

On his final word he slashed a metal cord that suspended the bridge they were standing on. When it snapped, the released tension made it fling forward, catching ChatNoir. Chat Noir was pitched over the railing. Ladybug reacted and caught his hand as he fell. With both hands she held onto Chat Noir, who was being dragged down by the meal coil still wound around his leg, anquering them both toward the abyss below.

Hawkmoth stalked toward them with a savage smile.

Ladybug's eyes flickered between the green of Chat Noir's, to the approaching Hawkmoth.

Ladybug tried to pull a hand back to reach her yo-yo, but as soon as she released one hand from Chat Noir, he began to slip from her grasp.

Hawkmoth drew closer unsheathing a sword from within his cane. A chuckle rolled from his lips.

Ladybug's blue eyes grew wide as she stared into Chat Noir's. He could see her trying to devise a plan and evaluate their options. He knew her well enough to see the flicker of panic flash across her determined gaze.

Hawkmoth was only a step away from her now.

"Let me go," mouthed Chat Noir.

"Never," she whispered back forcefully.

Rather than using her yo-yo to attack Hawkmoth, she thrust one hand back and used it to free Chat Noir from the twine pulling him down. He was ripped from Ladybug's grasp, but being freed, was able to grab onto the edge of the bridge before falling further. Her decision though had cost her both her weapon and shield...the yo-yo fell from the impact uselessly to the depths below.

Hawkmoth wasted no time in taking advantage of the situation. He moved to hit her from behind, but she rolled to one side avoiding his frenzy of attacks.

Chat Noir was trying to pull himself up, only gripping on by his gloved fingertips. His claws scraped against the metal of the bridge, trying to drag himself up.

Hawkmoth glared at the black cat's struggle and smirked. "Sometimes I wonder how you could have avaded me so long. It should have been so easy to stomp out you pests," he hissed, and threw down his booted foot forcefully onto Chat Noir's paw, crushing it beneath his full weight. He didn't release him, but ground it into the metal, making his miraculous ring grind against the steel.

"No!" Screamed Ladybug and threw herself at Hawkmoth, trying to knock him away from Chat Noir. But Hawkmoth had anticipated her move, and caught her around the neck in the crook of his arm.

"Don't you touch her!" Chat Noir shouted from below. "Cata..."

"Oh really? Cataclysm?" Hawkmoth challenged with distain. "You destroy this bridge, and we all go down...you, me, and your precious Ladybug too."

Ladybug squirmed, trying to get out of Hawkmoth's grasp, but he tightened his grip around her throat making her gasp for air.

"Let her go!" Chat shouted again threatening.

Hawkmoth chuckled.

"Let her go!" Chat's voice broke desperately.

Hawkmoth plucked Ladybug's earring from her, and cast her to the ground like a rag doll. "Gladly," he hummed, "now that I have what I need."

In a flash Ladybug's transformation dropped from her, and where Ladybug had just laid, was now the limp form of Marinette.

Chat Noir's eyes grew wide recognizing her. All of a sudden a surge of passion and rage serged through him. Hawkmoth had dared to harm Marinette! Sweet, creative, caring, beautiful Marinette! His protective instincts grew tenfold seeing his Lady revealed. He would do anything for her.

With his hand that held the edge, he grabbed Hawkmoth by the ankle that pinned his other hand under its heel. He yanked back swiftly, causing Hawkmoth to utter a shriek of surprise. His quick motion sent them both falling together. Pulled swiftly by gravity, they tostled with one another in their decent. Chat Noir grabbed hold of the collar of Hawkmoth's costume and whispered with clenched teeth "cataclysm."

Hawkmoth paled, and a oval pin with four radiating wings crumbled into ash within Chat Noir's grasp.

In a flash of light Chat Noir found himself holding this man with familiar steely cold gray eyes by the shirt collar, tumbling to their doom..a man who just happened to be...his father.

Chat Noir gaped in shock. "Why?" Was all he could get out.

"Chat Noir!" A clear voice from above them rang out. "Grab on!"

Chat Noir's own extended baton swung towards them, and Chat Noir mustered just enough awareness to grab the end, and latch his other arm around the revealed Hawkmoth.

Chat Noir looked up to the one who was on the other end of their lifeline. His eyes found those of the girl he loved from the first day they had met. The face of his Lady. Marinette.

Marinette smiled when their eyes met, and lifted her eyebrows awkwardly. Then she gritted her teeth, and strained with all her strength to pull the two up. Without her miraculous Chat Noir was even more impressed by her rescue.

It was only when he had reached the platform of the bridge again, and had dragged his elbow over the rungs, that he looked back down at his father. He still dangled dispondently from his other hand.

Pain, betrayal, and confusion passed over Chat Noir.

Then Marinette raced towards hem, and pulled him up the rest of the way. Chat noir went to pull Gabriel Agreste onto the platform. Marinettes eyes grew wide reackonizing the man that was hauled up beside Chat Noir.

But even after loosing his miraculous, Gabriel Agreste was not the kind of man to subcomb to defeat. Once he had allowed the hero's to drag him once again to solid ground, he crouched into a suffering ball, and moaned.

"Mr. Agreste?" Marinette asked moving toward his shaking form.

But Mr. Agreste just continued to moan, clutching his hands to his core.

"Mr. Agreste?" she asked, sincerely concerned, reaching out her hand to him.

"Mari No! It's a trap!" Chat Noir warned, blocking her as Gabriel grabbed out his hand as quick as a viper.

Gabriel Agreste stood to his full height grasping Chat Noir by the wrist, and holding him up in the air. "Compassion," he spat. "So gullible. Even without a miraculous you are pitiful against me."

Chat Noir's miraculous blinked it's warning one final time.

This time it was Gabriel Agreste who gasped in surprise as the miraculous transformation disappeared, leaving him holding Adrien by the wrist.

"Adrien!" Marinette breathed in awe.

"Why?" Growled Adrien to his fathers face

Gabriel's eyes widened in recognition.

"Why?" Adrien demanded

"My own son," Gabriel whispered in shock. "If only you knew...this whole time..you would have understood!"

Then without ceremony Gabriel thrust Adrien's fingers back, and whipped off the ring. Then he dropped Adrien to the ground.

Adrien jumped to his feet and went to charge his father...but his father, always a ruthless strategist had already swooped down to grabbed a broken bar, and held it under Marinette's chin.

Adrien and Marinette froze in a standoff.

"Adrien, Adrien..." chided his father. "I'm not against you! I've been doing this all for you...for us..."

"How could you possibly think I'd want any part in this?!" Adrien raged. "The things you've done...the people you've hurt..."

"All necessary sacrifices," Gabriel rolled his eyes frustrated that Adrien still could not understand.

"What could possibly be worth destroying so many lives?!" Adrien asked agerily.

"One life," Gabriel said solomnly, "her life." With the opposite hand from the one that still held the pipe to Marinette's neck, Gabriel flipped a switch and the cover over the glass casket opened up.

Marinette gasped, and Adrien stumbled back...his eyes widening.

"Mom?!"

"If only I had followed my instincts the first time I suspected you held a miraculous," Gabriel went on, oblivious to the torment in Adrien's eyes. "Together we could have gotten her back ages ago! But now you understand! With these I will make my wish! I will bring her back to us! To you Adrien! We will be a family again!"

Adrien looked like he was going to be physically sick. "After what you've done..." he wheezed, "I don't even know you."

Gabriel looked surprised, and then his jaw clenched in rage.

"Mr. Agreste don't do this! Not like this! There is still time to do the right thing," Marinette erged, edging away slightly from the bar in his shaking hand. "That wish comes at a cost! A life for a life!"

Hearing her voice Gabriel turned his wrath on her. "And what do you know?!" He challenged. "What do you know of love! I will do anything...anything do you hear me to get Emilie back!"

"I do know what it's like to love someone..." at this, her eyes went across to Adrien, "...and want to be with them more than anything."

Adrien raised his head and studied Marinette face. She gave him a shy smile and a slight nod.

Adrien's mouth dropped open slightly.

"Pff, a school girl crush," Gabriel mocked "you think I don't know about my son's pathetic little obsession with you, Bakergirl."

"I love her!" Adrien broke through, standing up defiantly with shoulders squared.

Now it was Marinette's turn to be left speechless.

"You'd stand with her against your own father?!" Gabriel demanded.

"Every time! I'm right here where I've always been..." he moved between Marinette and his fathers weapon. "At Mi'lady's side!"

Gabriel's brow furrowed, and his eyes narrowed.

"Haven't the hundred times we've defeated you proved that yet?!" Adrien's "Chat Noir" defiant glare shot out at his father.

"Not today!" his father hissed and plunged his finger into the black cat miraculous ring. "Plagg, Claws out!" he summoned. Plagg emerged with a sorrowful glance at Adrien, only to be dragged within the power of the ring. Then Gabriel punctured both ears, with the Ladybug earrings. "Tiki, spots on." Tiki let out a chirp of protest, before she too was dragged into the miraculous. Powers merge.

"No!!" Both Adrien and Marinette screamed out together. Knocking the jagged pipe in his hand, Adrien leaped at his father, wreastling him for the miraculous'. Marinette was right behind him, and tried to grab his left had that wore the ring.

With the joint power of the cat and the ladybug, he easily overpowered them both. He threw Marinette with great force to the ground, and her face slid across the cement, leaving a red trail up her cheek. He winded Adrien in the gut, striking him with the black cat baton. Then hit him again under the chin, sending him sprawling on his back.

"You'll see! I will make you understand!" Gabriel mumbled walking over to Emilie's side, and raising the glass cylinder. He gently took her hand in his. "Miraculous wish!" he said barely above a whisper. A bright white haze shot out brilliant beams from his merged form. "I wish...I wish...he breathed..."

as he visualized his greatest desire.

He saw a vision revealed to him. Emilie's eyes blinked open dreamily. Her gorgeous vivid green eyes.

At the same time Marinette crawled toward Adrien's side where he lay...also enveloped in the same halo of bright radiating light. As his mothers eyes opened, his began to shut.

Gabriel felt Emilie's hand tighten in his, holding his hand tenderly. At the same moment Adrien's hand fell limply out of Marinette's.

"Gabriel!!!" Marinette yelled in horror!. "It's Adrien!!! The life you will exchange for your wife's is going to be Adrien's!!!"

Gabriel's eager gaze at his reanimated wife, shifted, as his head snapped back to where Adrien lay in Marinette's arms.

"Please! Not Adrien! Don't take him away!" Marinette begged, tracing the blond hair that fell across his brow.

"Mari I love you...Mari,"Adrien whispered weakly "...always..." Then fell silent.

"Gabriel...My love! Where is Adrien?" Emilie asked as if awaking from a dream.

"Adrien..." Gabriel repeated, his eyes darting to the lifeless form of his son, and Marinettes sobbing form draped over him.

"I love you too! I have always loved you!" Marinette cried to Adrien.

Gabriel's shoulders dropped, and he claspt both of Emilie's hands in his. "I will always love you," he whispered.

Emilie smiled serenely. "I know you will...I left a piece of myself when I left...Adrien...Where is Adrien? Where is my heart?"

Gabriel broke down and bent his head between his knees.

Then Gabriel lifted his head and stared at the his wife. "My wish...I wish...I wish the miraculous of the Black Chat and Ladybug to be restored to those chosen to weild them."

The white light left Emilie, and she sank back into her deep peaceful sleep. Gabriel's merged transformation fell, and the ring and earrings materialized on the hand of Adrien and the ears of Marinette. The catacysmed butterfly brooch and the peacock miraculous appeared in the hand of Marinette as well.

Adrien breathed in a gasp of air and sat upright on the ground. Marinette looked started, staring nose to nose with him. Then she burst into joyful tears, and threw her arms around him, pulling him tight.

"I love you," Adrien repeated again into the curve of her neck.

"I love you!" Marinette echoes back pulling back just enough to look into his eyes.

Gabriel sat digectedly beside Emilie, and kissed her hand whistfully. Then he looked over to Adrien, and then dropped his gaze ashamed. He dropped to the ground, no longer caring about his stylish suit or commanding fasade.

"I failed you! He said. I am so sorry I failed you!"

Adrien looked at his mother and father. And then at Marinette, who still has her arms around his shoulders.

"Dad, You didn't fail mom. You didn't want to loose her."

"I DID fail her," Gabriel insisted, "but what's worse...is how I failed you Adrien. You are all I have left of her, and I...I...I pushed you away...neglected you...fought you...hurt you...Adrien I lost you."

"Yes..." Adrien paused, "...you did. But you also chose to bring me back again...maybe that is something..."

Gabriel sunk down in sorrow again. On a day that he had assumed was finally the one he would be reunited with his family...because of him...his actions to shape everything to his will...he had lost his family forever.

Over the coming weeks Gabriel Agreste was revealed to the world as Hawk Moth. His company was dissolved, and his assets divided. He was denied bail, and was to face terrorism charges. He had agreed to plead guilty. Natalie also faced similar charges for her part as Myra. Adrien's care and custody surprisingly did not fall to his aunt in London, but rather to his lumbering Body Guard.

Ladybug and Chat Noir sat on top of a roof overlooking the Eiffel Tower. The sun was setting, and Chat Noir sighed deeply.

Ladybug nuzzled her cheek to his, concerned, and laced her fingers in with his. "Kitty?" She questioned. "You okay?"

"For the first time in a long while, I'm pretty certain I will be," he smiled affectionately at his lady.

Ladybug leaned in towards him and kissed the corner of his mouth.

He smiled, and turned towards her. "Bugaboo," he raised an eyebrow mischievously, "I knew you couldn't resist my charm."

Must be some "Lucky charm" ladybug smirked back.

Then she ran her hands thru his hair, grabbing him just under his cat ears. Then drew his head down to meet hers.

She kissed him passionately, making him reel back blissfully nearly loosing his balance up on the roof.

They giggled together, as she pulled him back.

"So now that Hawkmoth is gone," sighed Ladybug, "do you think we will still get to...you know...get to keep being superhero's and all?"

"I think the world will always need Ladybug and Chat Noir," Chat smiled back at her.

"And they will always be there," Ladybug agreed.

"Always."
