"So, have any of you heard who's entered yet?" Sebastian asked once he had taken his seat at the breakfast table amongst his friends the next morning. He had a long night, dealing with a letter to his father. He had spent two hours trying to figure out what to put in it. After hours of long consideration, he merely wrote:

Dear Father,

All is well here at Hogwarts. The others and I have been planning to do some recruiting. We have Blaise Zabini, Crabbe, and Goyle, but that is to be expected. We are working hard to find more. We are also working hard to pass our classes, even though we are more educated than most of our peers. I wish they would just give us our NEWTs already and get it over with, but I suppose Dummy would rather keep us close.

As I am sure you probably heard, the Triwizard Tournament is taking place here. I think I would like to join it, what do you think? Draco is going to enter his name, as is Pansy. I'm not sure if Draco has convinced Hermione, yet. Probably not seeing as Hermione thinks the Tournament is a death trap waiting to happen.

Nothing strange has happened with Potter just yet, but I suspect you have some master plan you are working on.

Hope to hear from you soon. Give Uncle Lucius, Aunt Narcissa, and Aunt Bella my love.

Sincerely,

Sebastian Riddle

At first, Sebastian worried that telling his father he was considering entering the tournament would be a bad idea. But the young boy told his father everything, he never kept secrets from him, and he'd rather not start now.

"Blaise told me before you arrived that almost all of the boys from Durmstrang came in last night to enter their names," Draco said as he picked at the toast on his plate, while looking at Sebastian, "I don't know about the Beauxbaton students just yet."

"I heard Cedric Diggory signed up after dinner, as did Pucey and his friends," Hermione spoke as she lifted her head from the book she had been reading.

"Diggory seems like an honest contestant," Sebastian stated as he glanced over at the Hufflepuff table where the boy in question sat, talking amongst his fellow housemates, "He may be a Hufflepuff, but he is quite intelligent. Smarter than most. I wouldn't be surprised if he's chosen."

"What do you reckon, Bash? Shall we enter our names?" Pansy questioned her friend and leader. Sebastian looked at his friends silently before he nodded his head once. Almost immediately, three out of four of the group pushed their plates away and grabbed their parchments and quills from their bags. They wrote their names down, and one by one they approached the chalice and dropped their names in.

Once they had dropped their names in, they returned to their table. Hermione glanced up from her book when they all sat down, "Now you've all just signed your death warrants," she stated before returning her gaze to her book. The others all rolled their eyes at the friend's words.

"It'll only choose one champion from each school, 'Mione. Don't worry so much," Sebastian spoke calmly, "I doubt we'd even be chosen. We are in our fourth year, after all."

Hermione merely hummed as she returned her gaze to her book. The rest went back to eating. There was silence between them until Pansy spoke up, "Look, Potter and Weasley are entering their names," she whispered to her friends.

Sebastian lifted his head, and he turned to see that indeed Potter and Weasley were entering their names into the Goblet of Fire.

"You really think you stand a chance, Potter?!" Draco called out to the pair as they were retreating back to their table.

Potter turned to glare at Draco, "A much better shot than you and your death eater buddies."

"Right. I reckon you won't last ten minutes in the tournament if your name is perhaps chosen," Draco sneered at Potter.

"I reckon he won't last five," Pansy spoke up from her spot next to Hermione. This caused the four Slytherin to snigger as Potter glared at them before he turned to take his seat amongst his friends.

"He barely even knows the proper spells for fourth year," Hermione rolled her eyes once everyone had returned to normal, "I doubt he'd even survive."

"That's one less problem for us to deal with," Sebastian shrugged casually. Once that was done, everyone returned to what they were doing. Eating and reading. There were no classes that day, Dumbledork had figured that most of the students would be too preoccupied to pay attention. So Sebastian and his friends decided to take their time and relax in the Great Hall until they made their way elsewhere.

A couple hours later, they were still in the Great Hall. They all had taken to watching who would enter their names. They had also watched in mild amusement as the Weasley twins went around asking people to place bets on who would be champions. They even approached the Slytherins, with no problems with it whatsoever. It was amusing watching as most of the table glared while the twins approached the four Slytherin fourth years that sat at the end of the table.

" 'Ello Seb and friends," Fred Weasley said as he sat down on the opposite side of had taken to sitting across from his twin and on the opposite side of Pansy.

"What do you want, Weasleys?" Draco sneered at the twins, figuring they were there to start trouble. Sebastian placed a calming hand on his best friend's shoulder. Sebastian knew the Weasley twins weren't that bad, annoying maybe but not as aggravating as their younger brother.

"We are setting bets for who may be champions," Fred stated as he grinned at the four Slytherins, "Right now, Malfoy, your sitting seven hundred to one."

This caused Draco's friends to snigger as Draco's eyes widened then narrowed dangerously in annoyance.

"Apparently no one's betting on Malfoy. No surprise there," George stated casually, "But we have some high bids on you, Seb. Fifteen to one."

"And what of me?" Pansy questioned the twins curiously.

"Fifty to one," Fred flashed a grin, "Doing better than Malfoy."

"Well, I will place a bet," Sebastian stated casually, "My money's on Krum."

"Mine as well," Draco chimed in.

"Me too," Pansy stated simply, and Hermione merely nodded.

"What about the students from Beauxbatons?" Draco asked.

"All of them bet on themselves or their closest friends," Fred stated.

"Rather stuck up if you ask me," George snorted, "Right! We'll be off now, won't we Fred?"

"Off we go, George, nice talking to ya', Seb," Fred said as he stood up, and soon the twins were off explaining the betting pool to someone new.

Sebastian and his friends all exchanged looks before shrugging casually. They were used to the Weasley twins by now.

It was after the feast, the Dumbledore finally stood up to address his students.

"Today is the day," Dumbledore said clearly, "Today, three of you will become Triwizard champions. Merely one more minute, by my estimation before the Goblet gives us our first name," Dumbledore glanced over at the Goblet of fire. He then looked at the students once more, "The first task will take place on the 26th of November, the three chosen champions will have that time to prepare. But there is a catch, they will not know what they are up against. There will be no hints, there will be nothing."

"You reckon it's something dangerous?" Draco whispered to Sebastian, who merely nodded his head. Everyone's attention was on the Goblet as it began to flare up.

"It seems the time is upon us," Dumbledore grinned as the flames in the goblet grew larger and larger, and then there was a flash of green light and a piece of parchment lashed out of the flames. Dumbledore caught it as it floated down and he opened it, "If your name is called, please proceed out of the side door near the staff table," Dumbledore stated.

"It appears our first champion is-Viktor Krum, from Durmstrang!" The hall immediately erupted into loud cheers as soon as Krum's name was said. Krum stood up and calmly made his way towards the room that Dumbledore had mentioned, claps and cheers following him even once he was out of the room.

"This will be one bloody brilliant tournament," Draco grinned as he continued to clap excitedly. Sebastian grinned, offering a nod of his head. Everyone settled down when Dumbledore lifted his hand to silence them once another name shot out of the goblet.

"The champion for Beauxbatons is," said Dumbledore, "Fleur Delacour!"

There were cheers coming from the students of Beauxbatons, but Sebastian could see most of them were rather disappointed. Sebastian watched as a beautiful young woman stood from her seat. Her cheat of silvery blonde hair swept up into a bun, her silk robes hugging her perfectly. She was indescribably beautiful. Sebastian couldn't help but to watch her as she exited through the same door as Krum.

"She's a veela," Hermione whispered to Pansy once she had taken note of how infatuated Draco and Sebastian had become with the French woman.

"A veela?" Sebastian's attention immediately returned to his knowledgeable friend.

"Or a part one," Hermione stated, nodding her head. Sebastian hummed before his attention returned to the front of the room. Once again the Goblet flared up and produced a name. The name for the Hogwarts champion. Sebastian watched with bored interest now, he had doubted it would be him. He had actually looked away to whisper to Draco when:

"And the Hogwarts Champion is...Sebastian Riddle?" Dumbledore's tone seemed confused, and the Great Hall was silent. Sebastian noticed the looks of surprise amongst his friends and he turned his head to look at the front of the hall to see if he had heard right. Dumbledore's smile quickly returned, "Sebastian, my boy, please go and join your other champions," he forced out.

Sebastian rose from his seat, a casual smirk appearing on his face.

"What?! A bloody Slytherin?!" Ron Weasley cried in outrage, but everyone ignored him as Draco, Hermione, and Pansy all began to clap. And soon, everyone was joining the three Slytherin in cheers as Sebastian made his way to the room with the other champions. He quickly noticed Krum, brooding off in the corner of the room and Fleur Delacour standing on the other side of the room, her arms crossed against her chest.

Upon entering, both of the champions turned to look at him, "You are the Hogwarts champion, I presume?" Krum asked.

"That's right, my name is Sebastian Riddle," Sebastian stated calmly as he looked at them both, not really bothering to act friendly or even spare them a glance. He actually moved off to his own side of the room. It had taken about a moment before the door opened again, and when Sebastian turned to see who had entered, his eyes narrowed upon seeing Hadrian Potter.

"Looks like there's four champions now," Potter grinned proudly, "Hadrian Potter, pleasure to meet you all," Hadrian stood there as if he were expecting Krum and Fleur to fall at his feet at the mere mention of his name. Much to the amusement of Sebastian, and the disappointment of Potter, the two Foreigners did no such thing. Actually, neither of them spared him a look before returning to their normal positions.

"Excellent excellent," Ludo Bagman, the Ministry Head of the Department of Magical Sports and Games entered with Dumbledore at his side, the two other Headmasters from the other schools were present as well "Three schools, four champions. I have never seen anything like it in all my time. What an excellent event this will be!"

"Indeed," Dumbledore stated as he looked amongst the Champions in the room, "I believe we shall proceed with instructions so the champions can prepare for their first task."

"Right right," Ludo nodded, "Well, you four as champions are not allowed to ask for help of any sort from your professors to complete your tasks. For the first task, you are only allowed your wand and will receive information of the second task immediately upon your completion of the first task. Any questions?"

Everyone gave a shake of their heads. Dumbledore was the one to speak next, "Right then, off to bed with you all. You have a lot of preparations to do!"

Sebastian was the first to exit the room, he immediately made his way to the exit of the now empty Great Hall.

"Oi, Riddle!" Potter's voice sounded from behind him, and Sebastian lazily turned around to face the boy as he came to a stop in front of him, "Now it's my turn to prove to the whole school how much better I am than you. I will show everyone who the greater wizard amongst the pair of us, is."

"Do what you must, Potter," Sebastian shrugged casually, out of the corner of his eye he noticed Fleur and Viktor approaching but his attention remained on Potter, "I have nothing to prove to you."

"All I am saying, Riddle, is watch your back," Potter huffed as he shouldered past Sebastian and exited the Great Hall. Fleur and Krum came to a stop in front of Sebastian.

"Is he always like zat?" Fleur questioned, lifting a perfectly sculpted eyebrow.

"Like what? Proud? Arrogant? Annoying?"

"Yes," Krum was the one to speak now.

"Yes, and I for one cannot wait to take him down a notch," Sebastian smirked slyly before he bowed his head politely to Fleur and Krum, "Have a good evening," he said before he too exited the Great Hall and made his way to the dungeons to the Slytherin common room.

After giving the password, and entering the common room, Sebastian grinned at the sight of his three best friends and most of their house all gathered in celebration.

"Congratulations, Sebastian!" they all cheered. His friends ran forward, Hermione and Pansy giving him a tight hug whilst Draco settled for a handshake, which Sebastian gratefully accepted.

"It's time to celebrate," Draco grinned, "My best friend, a Hogwarts Champion!"
