Chapter: 1

The Beginning of a Tale

The sky up above the heavens were clouded with dark grim clouds. As if it was already signifying the ends of the final climatic clashes of the two most prominent youths ever created by the entire history of the hidden leaf village.

Who were only the namely both,

Sasuke Uchiha

and Naruto Uzumaki…

Situated amongst the far south eastern edge borders of the lands of the fire nation. Their battle ground was placed at the rocky base of a large waterfall, with two enormous statues of the hidden leaf's founding fathers facing each other on opposite sides of their oppositions.

To the right of the waterfall was the Shodaime Hokage, Hashirama Senju. Facing directly in front of the Senju monument was the first original leader of the Uchiha clan, Madara Uchiha. This specific area was named "The Valley of the End", due to the notorious battle between the two founding fathers which forever altered the landscape. In remembrance, the people of Konoha carved enormous statues of the combatants on the opposite sides of the large waterfall, symbolizing the undying conflict that lasted between them.

But the most ironic part of the current area was that there was also another battle of similar epic proportion was taking on its place. On Madara's side stood Sasuke Uchiha, the "top rookie" of his graduating ninja academy class, who was attempting to defect from Konoha in order to train under Orochimaru, the traitorous Snake Sanin.

Now with his entire form bare, after having his shirt torn off during the early stages of their fight and due to his transformation to his still first cursed state form, as well for giving in to his pools of evil intentions and channeling his chakra to the curse mark of which the snake sannin had left for him. One could say that the Uchiha did now had truly changed from the form the form that he once used to be, though not as drastic of a change compared to the ones of the sound four monsters but still it was now apparent by the lack cursed seal marks that now ran across all over his body.

While on Hashirama's side was Naruto Uzumaki, the jinchuriki of the Kyubi no Kitsune, and the "dead last" amongst his peers. His reason for being here? He was part of the team charged with the task of subduing Sasuke and bringing him back to Konoha. Unfortunately, the escort that was responsible for bringing Sasuke to Otokagure were Orochimaru's personal guard, five dangerous Oto nin that were highly proficient at using the traitorous sannin's curse mark. The retrieval team was forced to combat these…ninjas…with each their members fighting one Oto nin by themselves.

This resulted in Naruto ending up as the only one left to pursue the now rogue Sasuke Uchiha.

Naruto had chased after the renegade until he finally caught up to him at the monument, hoping that he could try to reason with his wayward teammate. To the young blonde's dismay, however, Sasuke was dead set on defecting from Konoha, and was willing to kill anyone that stood in his way. That part had really hurt Naruto, as he somewhat saw Sasuke as an annoying prick of a friend.

After Sasuke had tried to kill him twice, he was forced to use the Kyubi's chakra and take action against the Uchiha. This gave the young Uzumaki a much-needed edge against Sasuke, who couldn't land a single strike against the Kyubi-powered genin. Not one to be outdone by anyone, Sasuke activated the second state of his Heaven Curse Mark, which evened the playing field for the Uchiha. Now, after a long and fierce battle, both combatants were on their last legs, and had enough strength for one final attack. But the last attack meant something different to each combatant. For Naruto, it was his last chance to bring Sasuke back and fulfill his promise to Sakura. For Sasuke, it was his one chance to finally break free from the very village that had been holding him back and finally obtain vengeance against Itachi.

'This will end it!' thought the two ninjas, as they prepared their final attacks. Sasuke thrust his left palm towards the ground, and began to channel some more lightning chakra, producing condensed bluish-white sparks. But then, Sasuke began to channel the curse mark's chakra into the attack, causing the sparks to change to a menacing black color, and the chirping sound that usually accompanied the jutsu was replaced with a sound similar to flapping wings.

Meanwhile, Naruto, who was trying his best to form a Rasengan, but was having some difficulty. His left arm had become numb from the extended use of the Kyubi's chakra and he needed two hands to perform the jutsu correctly. But despite this, Naruto concentrated on forming a Rasengan in his right hand. Surprisingly, he felt the chakra starting to condense, not knowing that the demon fox's influence was responsible for this as well as the chakra orb's size and color. The chakra condensed even further into a spiraling purple sphere that was surrounded by a layer of red demonic chakra.

Feeling their own respective final attacks reaching their zeniths, both shouted out each of other's opponent's' name's and unwilling to back down, only determined to make do with their now definite decisions.

"SASUKE!"

"NARUTO!"

Without wasting anymore time, the two combatants launched themselves towards one another, determined to finish the fight in one final strike, the distance was closed in seconds.

"CHIDORI!"

"RASENGAN!"

And in an instant, they shouted together the name of their respective techniques and along with that they met in equal fury and clashed. The great spear of lightning met the malevolent chakra sphere of destruction. The result was only nothing sort but a spectacular scene of morbid destruction. A resounding boom and a blast of light that was sure to be seen and heard for miles away from their current borders was the only the aftermath that all but followed in their wakes.

Not to be deterred by the shaking destruction that they had just made, still both equally determined, they continued to push of some their last flagging reserves of chakra to their own techniques. To be driven down to their own particular enemy and triumph in what appears to be their last final fight between to each other.

With the space and reality around them warping and cracking, due to the intensity of the clash of jutsus.

They continued with now much greater power i, ignoring the consequences that they had wrought to their surroundings. And glaring to each other like feral beasts with the only intent of winning, surviving and never backing down from their oppositions. It was very visible that their final bout was all but going to be ended up as a draw in their already long line list of conflicts with each other.

Until sadly enough, for a single second, Naruto hesitated.

For even in his addled feral mind like state the blonde jinchuriiki remembered, that he promised and swore that he would be bringing back his comrade, his teammate and his brother in arms alive, no matter the costs. He didn't want to bring him back as corpse for them to mourn for, he wanted to keep his promise to the girl that he had even still now longed for her affections.

He lowered the power of his rasengan and all it took was a single fraction of a second for the Uchiha to witness his hesitations, before he then took advantage of this moment of weakness and increased more of the power of his Chidori within his outstretched hand.

Surging with lightning chakra he felt his victory nearing him, as he then sneered and without any sense of remorse. Sasuke then proceeded to drove in further his lightning encased hand towards the now weakened spiralling orb of chakra. Utterly dissipating it with his own, and before Naruto could dawn in the utter doom that was without a doubt going to befall him and even take a single moment to counter this new found surge, the black haired Uchiha then struck his lightning assassination jutsu, down through the poor blonde boys' chest.

The look of pure horror was only then etched through the blonde's face, when he had finally caught up with the realization on what his supposed teammate had done to him. He had struck him! He could see it, feel it, his innards splaying and his flesh searing with blazing heat of the lightning encased hand that had all but pierced through him.

"S-sasuke…? *cough*splat! *"

Sputtering out a small wad of blood from his mouth at the end of his words. He asked in total shock towards his supposed friend, not really still comprehending on the act that he had just did.

Only for his eyes to widen again in horror, when he had then stared back towards his now would be murderers' expressions. For instead of finding any hint of remorse to the actions that he had just did, there he saw instead was a face that was could be only described as a contorted mix of cold fury, madness, and sheer utter hatred, that he now knew that was all directed to him…

"You lose, dobe."

The venom and spite weren't clearly lost by Naruto's ears, as he heard him spoke through his words. But before he could even bite back a response towards the raven-haired bastard, his last words were then all just clogged up in his throat. When the said Uchiha then proceeded to heave back away his outstretched hand inside the blonde's chest. Allowing the said blonde jinchuriiki to stand and stagger in his own last attempts in grasping consciousness. He knew that the nine-tails had always somewhat had the ability to always heal him with his wounds in an almost abnormal rate. But still nonetheless he could feel it, from the searing hole in his chest and his overly fatigued body, that he was dying…

The looks of horror were only the last expressions that was ever etched across the blond boy's face. Until, then he saw his sights dimming and slowly claiming away his perceptions. He tried to breath, to live. But then he felt his lungs stopped its breaths in a hitch and before he knew it, he fell down towards the waters below, eyes closed, cold and finally dead….

Naruto Uzumaki was finally…

Dead…

His killer, drawing fast short breaths, didn't even managed to acknowledge his now floating dead body. Disdain was all just appeared in his eyes, as he finally turned himself away from the blonde's corpse, ready to make his way for his twisted goals and destiny.

But not before sparing a mocking and sneering glance towards his supposed to be rival's dead corpse for the last time. As he spoke.

"Hn. You were just always in the way dobe."

Jumping hurriedly from one branch to another, the jonin of the hidden leaf village Hatake Kakashi, was for at words shortly pacing his labored breaths. He knew that he needed to hurry if ever should he stop his students from murdering each other. He already had those regretful memories inside his head with his own past mistakes to his teammates, he didn't want to let his team in doing same thing that he knew that they'll end up regretting and experience the same nightmares that he had been through his life.

He came to a thought on how he could've had prevented this from ever happening in the first place? He went through the memories of the first day that they had begun as a team, the memories and experiences that they had all went through together, trying to figure out on where things went wrong. Sure, he could've done a few things differently, by perhaps spending more time individually to each member of his team. But he digressed, Sasuke's situations had called for things to be different, the boy had finally developed his Sharingan, he had to prepare him for the fight for Gaara. It was too late now for regrets and he could only hope that he would be there in time to mend up some of his mistakes that he had made.

Before he then gazed up above towards the now rapidly darkening skies at his horizons, and it didn't even take for the leaf Jonin to think inside his mind, to know that rain was probably gonna soon pour down on their heads.

"This is not good." He was feeling something bad within him, and it wasn't just the accumulated fatigue and stress that he had been piling up these days.

"Pakkun, how much longer is it going to be till we arrive to their location?" He asked his summoned ninken in within the holds of his arms, as he continued his pace towards the location of their objective.

"Not much longer now Kakashi, if we continue down this pace that you have set us through, I'm sure that we will arrive at their location in no time."

The pug ninken said as he continued to sniff and guide down his own summoner towards the directions of his students.

Until a strong flash of light and followed up by a shocking resounding boom then came through the perimeters of their senses. Forcing them into a skidding stop in their sprint, as they then came to look to the source of the surely unnatural phenomena's directions. Whatever that blast was, he knew that it was strong and that they needed to hurry.

So, with now dreadful thoughts filling up inside his head. Kakashi and with his ninken Pakkun had all but then now doubled their pace towards their intended directions, dearly hoping on that he wasn't that all too late to save his students.

Entirely unaware of the fact that he was already too late…

The entire empty expanse and horizons were all filled with nothing but the plain color of white, and the only seemingly auspicious in the whole vast space was a single standing lone individual.

With a body of a somewhat shockingly full-blown short big-boned skeleton, wearing a blue left opened hoodie jacket with a soft faux fur lined up on its cowl, a plain white shirt underneath, a black short basketball pants lined up with a strip color of white on its sides and a pair of comfortable white floppy slippers at his feet that somewhat strangely completed his ensemble and look.

Sans the skeleton the only last living survivor of his universe, if he could even still consider himself that anyway. Was what you could call currently wallowing to himself from his absolute monotony, as there was literally nothing in this state plane of existence that he could even use to gorge his attentions.

As in literally nothing!

Alone, depressing, white, empty and void.

Those were all that he could only think of in his head and see with his own two eyes within sockets. Supposed it had always been like this ever since he had found himself stuck on this new reality, but still, it wasn't like that he could just shake off the utter loathsome feelings of depression and loneliness, being stuck alone on a plane of empty existence could certainly do that to ya.

"I'm really all alone and bone-ly, huh."

He made a pun on his own lonesomeness, for almost a thousand times already. But it would seem that even with all of his expertise from his life and jobs of expertly handling loneliness. As well as all of his attempts of practicing and leveling up his downtrodden feelings with his well-crafted puns. He couldn't still ignore off the welling depression that was all but building up inside him….

Come to think of it how long had he been here anyway? A year or two? Oh, that's right he remembered, time didn't even count in this dimension, for all he could have known that maybe it had already been ten years ago.

"Maybe I shouldn't have just escaped my own reality… Maybe I should've just allowed myself to reset… Along with everybody else…"

He voiced out his second thoughts about the decision that he had long since made on his life. His choice of ending it all out of his existence.

But then again, he opted then to shook his head at the thoughts. It was already done there was no longer any resets and after all he was already, tired. Tired of constantly remembering all of the deaths of his friends and loved ones, tired of always constantly fighting in a repeated loop, only for them to forget again in an endless bloody eternity…

Some may say that it was the only cowardly out of his tragic destiny, but he decided off against such notions. For he knew now that it was better this way, it was better on not escaping and be just trapped on this barren white un-endless plain void, than living on his previous plain of existence and be constantly reminded of all the tragic genocidal deaths of his loved ones in every damned reset, that he knew that only he remembers….

Not that he could even escape this damned void now anyway, it just was easy to get in and absolutely needle prickly to get out. And that he didn't just had in him to have such determination in the first place' after all he could admit it to himself that he was just so stubbornly lazy down to his bones even now anyway.

He almost cracked a small humorous laugh to himself when he had then remembered the face that the human kid named Frisk had made, when he had absolutely denied herself with the pleasure of finishing him off in her streak in their what he could remember as the last moments of their battle, that he knew that numbered already way past thousands in numbers by timelines that he remembered.

"Welp… I guess I'm just gonna have to take another nap now again… Right, Papyrus?"

He asked rhetorically to himself his question. Knowing Papyrus, he was now even already imaging his brother chastising him off in due with his nonchalance and apathetic views of his current situation.

"SANS! WHAT ARE YOU EVEN DOING LAYING AROUND THERE, HOW CAN YOU EXPECT YOURSELF TO BE AS GREAT AS THE GREAT PAPYRUS IF YOU WOULD JUST GIVE UP!"

He smiled a small sullen smile, when he remembered the bittersweet memories of his late brother. He knew that he should have just outright taken care of that human from every start, to save his brother from that demon. But he knew that right from the start that monsters didn't had in them, especially him, to stop a single human's strong wanton determinations….

He knew that nothing truly ever mattered in the end if a human would ever learn to make use of their inner magic of their souls and of their determinations, he was aware of that. In fact, he was the very only one who was aware of that…. The dreams, no the nightmares that he would just constantly have each night, right before the day on when he knew that he would finally occasionally meet the human back at the forests of Snowdin, were memories of himself from other timelines…

Perhaps he shouldn't have after all made that promise. Maybe he could've had saved his brother if he wasn't just so stubborn in believing the human to do good in the first place….

"I…. miss you Pap's…. *c-cough*"

He spoke out his thoughts about his dear beloved brother and coughed, damned was he tired and that human sure did truly had made a number on him. He knew that he could have just killed himself in hopes of ending his torments and nightmares of his past memories, but he wasn't still that desperate, no not yet, he still didn't want to demean the memories of his late brother by committing his own suicide…

As he then now proceeded to sit down to the ground of the empty white reality that he was trapped in, ready to finally take his nap and dreams once again about his friends and his beloved brother in his mind.

And for even the briefest of moments, be at peace…

When suddenly out of nowhere, he felt something. With his abilities on time and space manipulation and as well as being once a prestigious quantum space/time scientist of the royal court and kingdom himself. He knew on what it felt like, when something does happen on the space-time continuum, he could feel it and almost like sense it.

That there was something and someone who forcibly entering the reality of this plane of existence!

"What the…."

He quickly stood up from his previous position on the floor, a wholly uncanny behavior from someone who was entirely apathetic and lazy in his demeanors. Before went over to the spot of where he could feel its distortions.

"Is it Alphys? Had they resetted and come here for my rescue?"

He mused out his thoughts within his head, rightly considering if it was even better to escape out of this reality. As he watched out with his own two eyes the distorting rift that was happening right now before him. But to his bone-chilling shock, what happened next was something that he totally didn't expected to happen at all…

His eyes went chillingly dark and his sockets on his skull then went on abruptly hollowed. For as the rift then now visibly formed, what came out next wasn't alphy's or any monster that he knew. But in fact, what came out next was a human.

'A human child…. Wait… A human spirit?'

He saw that he was just a child, unconscious and possibly as the same age as Frisk was, when the last time that he left from his dimension.

Sans deduced that his soul must be so strong to allow him to persist in this form, even after his death. But the real question that then came to him next was that how the hell did this kid even managed to reach this plain of existence? The only possible way that he could've think off, was to use a machine that must function in similarities to the one that he had at his own laboratory, a machine that would have to harness determinations...

He saw that he was wearing somewhat of a cloth jacket that he knew only Papyrus would approve of its colors.

He observed that he was vastly different from his comparisons to the seven human kids that he had once come to know back then during his pasts on the underground. He could see that the unconscious kid right before had a shockingly bright blonde spiky mop of hair on his head, slightly tanned skin and if Frisk was somewhat androgynous in her appearance, even though the big-boned skeleton was certainly sure that he had already identified her as a girl. This kid right in front of him was relatively different, his rugged and roguish looks could really tell him that he was no doubt about it, a boy, a human boy.

Sans could tell that this kid had just been through a hell lot of fight. If the conscious form wasn't the basis enough of his status then perhaps it was due to the all of the blood and injuries that he could see over all of his body.

But most importantly, he could see it, with his now blazing blue left eye. The soul of this human child before him was colored red, on which he could remember as the same color of the soul of Frisk's, the haunting colors of determination…

'No, not again…'

He shuddered, as his past plaguing memories and nightmares were all but now coming back to him.

And for now, maybe like the millionth time already in his life, again Sans found himself in a bind of indecisions.

He knew that he needed to care of this issue now, he didn't want to be in another one of those damned resets, not just after cowardly abandoning his own previous world in hopes of just escaping that damned demon's tortures. No, he was going to kill him, now that he even still has his chance to do so.

Perhaps he could just maybe spare this human from the troubles of pain and existence. Right that's right, he knew that this kid was just going to die anyway, might as well just do it now that he's unconscious before he could even do his resets and harness his determinations against him.

'Humans are nothing but troubles…'

With that in his thoughts, Sans had all but then quickly summoned up a large goat-like monstrous skull skeleton creature out of nowhere from the air behind him, for a quick eradication by his Gaster basters. Until then again, out of nowhere another torrent of memories then suddenly came back flooding through him…

"BUT… ST… STILL! I BELIEVE IN YOU! YOU CAN DO A LITTLE BETTER! EVEN IF YOU, DON'T THINK SO! I… I PROMISE…"

"Promise me that you'll protect any human child that you'll come across through, my friend, promise me…"

"…I hereby succeed Sans to the position of royal judge…"

He remembered, the words of his brother, his beliefs, his promise, his occupation that he had been appointed to, by him.

Before he then stopped, gone now was the skeleton skull that he had just previously summoned, as he was now forced to reconsider the choices that he knew that he must take.

Every rational thought inside of his head was all but screaming to him to clean up this whole trouble before it could even make a start, but his heart found himself he couldn't. He wanted to believe in the latent goodness in the hearts of every being just like his brother did, he wanted to again fulfill his promise that he had failed to continue to upkeep for his friend.

His heart was fighting all of the rationality of thoughts that he knew that he still had left within him.

He was befuddled, a rare enough thing for a monster of his calibre. So, after a pause of weighing down his considerations, he then decided to do a concession.

By in shorts of doing his past duty, this time as a proper judge.

He was going to pilfer through the timed memories of the mind and soul of this human child before him and judge him, for his levels of violence and for his sins. It was only right and just; he was going to give this child a chance, and if should he ever even witness a single sight within his memories that would indicate any sorts of semblance towards the behaviors of Frisk….

"Then he's dead."

*And that's the end for this chapter.

AN: So, what do you all think about the first NarutoxUndertale fic that I had just made? Originally, I was going to intentionally make this chapter a bit longer. But I had to wrap this up short because I was actually finding it a bit concerning to further on the extended length on the first chapter of my stories, I don't wanna intimidate any first-timers on their first read, you know?

While I do apologize for my errors. The entire process was a bit hard on me since I don't really have a beta reader to proof read me on the mistakes that may have made. And complement to the fact that I'm not really such a savant non-English literate, so yeah, just please do try to keep the flames to the minimum.

Also, I don't know whether if this just as a shot or not, depends if this story could get enough follows, maybe I could even continue on its developments.

But still nevertheless, please do leave your comments on the reviews down below if you do have something to comment or add on to the developments of this story. For any reviews are truly are appreciated, because…

IT FILLS ME WITH DETERMINATION!
