At the Andrews house.

It's the first day of school and Jason and Jennifer are pretty annoyed. It's never cool to be the new kids on the first day, or ever really.

"Morning kids!" Said Jessica.

"Morning"

"What do you guys want for breakfast?"

"Anything's ok with me" Said Jennifer. She had always been the polite one. Jason on the other hand:

"I want porridge"

"Sorry sweetie there isn't any" Said Jessica. Jason finished the last of it last night.

"So it doesn't matter what I want then? Only what we have matters?" Asked Jason very rudely.

Jennifer once again felt awkward when something like this was happening

"I guess I'll have toast then"

Jessica forced a smile and went to get toast.

Jennifer is driving them both to school. Once she gets there she can get away from Jason.

"I couldn't even have my morning porridge. How am I supposed to survive today as a new kid?" Asked Jason.

Jennifer rolled her eyes. People who have much less then they do have survived no breakfast.

"Why do good things happen to everyone who isn't us Jen?"

"Excuse me? We live in Encino how does everyone have it better than us? Why are you always so disrespectful to Mom and everyone else in the world?" Asked Jennifer.

"I've never been disrespectful to you" Said Jason.

That was true. But only because Jason knows what will happen if he does something like that to her.

Jennifer parked and they got out. She saw Jason go up to some people she knew weren't pleasant.

Jason decided to introduce himself to these people.

"Hey I'm Jason"

They looked at him silently for a couple of minutes.

"Where do you live?"

"Encino" Said Jason.

"Good! You'll fit right in. My name is Kyler"

"Brucks"

"Rory"

"Cool" Said Jason.

Jennifer went into maths and saw a girl she was certain she recognised.

"Hi I'm Jenny!"

"Aisha!"

Then it hit her. Jenny follows Isaiah Robinson on Instagram. Aisha is his daughter.

"Oh you're Isaiah's daughter right?"

Aisha bit her lip.

"Yeah that's me" Said Aisha. Her smile dropping.

"What's wrong?" Asked Jennifer.

"Nothing. It's just that seems to always be the thing. The daughter of the cool football player. The friend of cool Sam Larusso. Never just Aisha. Sorry" Says Aisha after realising she probably shouldn't have said that.

"Don't worry it's cool! I didn't mean something like I'd only wanna speak to you because of your dad. But I would like to be friends with you!" Says Jennifer.

Aisha smiles.

"Yeah thanks I'd like that! My only friend isn't speaking to me at the moment" Says Aisha.

"Is it that Sam girl?" Asked Jennifer.

"Yeah. I came in this morning and found out that she's with the popular crowd now"

Jennifer starts to get angry. She remembers the popular crowd from Ohio. They were horrible. She was hoping they wouldn't all be horrible but she's now starting to think they all are if one of them was Aisha's friend and left her for them.

"I'm sorry. That sucks. The popular crowd from my old school in Ohio were horrible to me and my brother"

Aisha and Jennifer have a lot in common. They also have English and Home Ec together. When they get into Home Ec they sit down and see someone come near them.

"Hey could I sit?"

They both nodded.

"I'm Miguel"

"Jennifer"

"Aisha"

"Nice to meet you's! I just moved here from riverside" Said Miguel.

"Cool! I just moved here about a week or two ago! We lived in Ohio"

"And I've lived here my whole life!" Says Aisha.

Miguel laughs.

"Ah good! You must know your way around by now haha"

"Well 16 years here does help" Says a smiling Aisha.

"I hope to get the hang of it by then" Says a laughing Jennifer.

All 3 of them start laughing now!

Jennifer didn't know why this boy wanted to make jokes about putting people on a waiting list for people who could sit with them but she actually quite liked it!

"I'm Miguel"

"Demetri. This is Eli. He's a man of few words" Says Demetri.

Jennifer didn't know why Demetri was speaking for him byt decided to let it go.

"I'm Jennifer"

The two boys smiled.

Aisha didn't introduce herself but she must already know them since this wouldn't be her first day.

Jennifer noticed some girls come by and sit down at a different table. Miguel couldn't stop looking at one of them.

"Dude they're the rich girls don't torture yourself" Said Demetri but then gave Aisha an apology look.

"I'm rich! Well my mom is" Said Jennifer.

"Oh uh sorry" Said Demetri.

"Oh great. Yasmine's looking at us. Probably just making of me or something" Says Eli. He has a quiet kind of voice.

"Oh come on. Just because they're looking at you doesn't mean they're making fun of you" Says Miguel

"When it's Yasmine it is" Says Eli.

Aisha gives an understanding kind of look. Then she notices Yasmine make a face at her. Aisha is uncomfortable at that. But then she smiles at Sam to try and get her attention. Sam does smile back. But it's probably the quickest and shortest smile ever.

Miguel gets up.

"What are you doing" Asks Demetri.

"Striking first" Says Miguel. He is looking in Sam's direction.

He goes over to her and comes back just before he can ask her out. Some people, who look like assholes sit down with them. Jennifer pauses when she sees what she sees.

Jason sitting next to Yasmine.

"Who were those people you were sitting with at lunch?" Jennifer asks Jason as she drove them home.

"Just friends I made. The popular crowd. They're much better than the popular ones in Ohio"

It didn't look like it to Jennifer. Especially from what she's heard from Eli and Aisha.

"You know I can probably get you a spot with the popular crowd. You're rich so they probably won't wanna pick on you so much"

That sounded like bullshit to Jennifer. Although she did wonder why Jason was trying to be nicer than usual. Probably just so his secret won't get out.

Doesn't matter though. Jennifer once thought the popular crowd were different to how they actually are.

She won't be making that mistake again.
