Alright Y'all! Welcome to a little project I like to call, 'Silence and the Sound'! Like the desription reads, this is a TimeTravel fic, and currently the only serious story on this sight I'm going to be working on for the foreseeable future - Chronicles doesn't count, cause that's my 'for fun' story filled with nothing but fluff.

Now, onto the Important Stuff!

Within the AU of this story, the current year - which is during the Endeavor agency arc of the Manga, with some minor timeline differences - is 2147!

Izuku was born in the year 2130, which makes him 17 as of the start of this story!

Rumi Usagiyama was born in 2122, which makes her a touch younger than in the actual Manga by a small two years.

And that... Is all you need to know! Because of the whole TimeTravel thing, I figured my lovely readers should actualy have a timeline to roll this puppy out onto, to help better understand the story.

Anyway, that's about all! I hope y'all enjoy, and as soon as I finish publishing my novella this week, I'll be able to start putting out chapters at around 1-2 a week, though that will probably fluctuate a bit depending on my schedule.

Hope you all enjoy,

In Love, Erebus

- Silence and the Sound -

- Chapter 1 -

* Displaced *

"I got eyes on the target," Deku muttered from his place on the rooftop, emerald gaze tracing the path of the man he was following. The man, who was dressed in a long black coat, ended up turning into an alley, catching Izuku's attention and forcing him to act. "He made a detour away from the main road. Moving to engage."

"Well be right behind you," Endeavour's voice echoed in his ear through the static sound of the comm, and Izuku nodded at the approval.

The green haired hero stood, sparks dancing on his form as 15% of One for All pushed through his body. Cracking his neck, he squatted - bracing himself with his arms backwards for balance - before leaping outwards into the air, his emerald power a star in the fading daylight. Shooting from building to building, he soon found himself upon the alleyway that the man - their target - was walking down. Taking no chances, Izuku engaged, dropping downwards in a powerful axe kick.

"The target's name is Kronos. His quirk is 'Accelerate'; a name that doesn't exactly fit his skill set." Endeavour began, prepping the small team of sidekicks and interns as the man's profile was passed around.

He wasn't much older than the second year highschool students that made up the bulk of the strike team - Izuku, Shoto, and Katuski - at a startlingly young 20 years old. Not even of the proper drinking age, and yet had a whole team dedicated to his capture.

Izuku made sure to memorize every feature of the young villain's face.

Dark hair and sunken eyes, the man would have taken Izuku's self proclaimed position as 'blandest person in Japan' was it not for the vivid gold which filled his irises. His eyes seemed to glow even through the picture, an unnatural yet heavenly light thrumming out from them; a stark contrast to the otherwise insomniac looking man on whom they rested.

"He's able to affect the timestream in small ways that make him a dangerous opponent, to say the least," Endeavour continued, "varying from, as the name suggests, accelerating his own 'timestream' to make himself faster, to freezing someone for up to 3 minutes by touching them. He's a hero school drop out, so he's trained. Do not take him lightly, is that understood?"

Nods all around.

"Good. After dropping out he was picked up by a little Yakuza group that he's had run ins with in the past. Damn mafia like to horde time quirks, so they were all too willing to let him into their ranks." Endeavour scowled, "But those organized crime idiots aren't our problem. Apparently, he's been getting friendly with the wrong people." The man dropped another picture onto the table, which though blurry, and far away, clearly showed the man being escorted by a masked individual known throughout the hero world as a member of the League of Villains.

"Twice…" Muttered Izuku, eyes narrowing as a small frown came to bear on his features. "He's getting involved with the League."

"Which is an issue. He's dangerous enough as is, don't need him putting those time powers to any sort of use for those damn terrorists." Endeavour scowled furiously. "So we're going to stop him. Take him down before he becomes too much of a pest." Looking around at all those assembled, he nodded at their looks of determination and understanding; this was a chance to strike directly at the League, and it wouldn't be taken lightly.

"Ok. Seems we're all on the same page. Good. Now, before we go over the plan, I need to remind you all one more time. This is a dangerous target. He was marked as a combat specialist back when he was in school, so he's no joke." Endeavour found Izuku's eyes. " Got it?"

"Got it!"

The man turned, golden eyes glaring over his shoulder as he caught Deku's own glowing viridian orbs, and spun out of the way of the hero's devestating kick, which shattered the concrete beneath his heel. Twisting out of the way, Izuku was jumping backwards before the villain could react; air force gear snapping out with a sharp click, the green haired hero loosed a few compressed air shots towards the Yakuza member. Unable to see the attacks coming, the man couldn't dodge, and was thus struck directly by every one of Deku's attacks.

Choking on his own spit, Kronos was thrown backwards down the alley, only coming to a stop when he slammed against the brick wall at the other end of the recently repaired concrete path.

"Please surrender!" Deku called out, firing more shots as the man tried to stand, and smashing him against the wall once again.

He can freeze anyone he touches for about 3 minutes, if I get touched it's over, so this is my best strategy. If he tries to move I can use black whip, but I don't wanna chance getting frozen if it counts as a part of me.

Hearing the rest of the team coming around the corner, Izuku smiled.

It's all over. We got him.

Endeavor rounded first, with Shoto on his tail, though he stopped by Izuku's side as the older man passed them, continuing down the alley towards the fallen villain. If worse came to worse, the younger Todoroki could freeze the man, but he needed some distance to make any sort of ice attack like that effective.

Burnin and Bakugou were next, twin scowls grazing their features as they moved on the number one's tail, and past the two who'd taken up rear guard at the exit.

"Kronos," Endeavor's voice, his presence, dominated the air. It commanded respect and, if you were a villain, fear.

Definitely different from All Might - he hardly ever dropped his smile, much less purposefully instill terror in his enemies - but no less effective.

Izuku was quite happy he wasn't in the black haired villain's shoes at the moment.

"You are under arrest. If you give yourself up, I promise you, both of us are going to walk out of this alleyway in a much better mood than otherwise," the flame hero stopped a few feet away from the downed villain - who was still struggling to breathe, much less stand, something Izuku only felt a little bad for - and, though he couldn't actually see his face, Izuku had spent enough time around the pro to know he was narrowing his eyes menacingly. "You don't want to experience otherwise."

Quiet, but only for a moment.

Then, the villain muttered something; something that from his place at the end of the alley, Deku couldn't make out - though from the way Endeavor's head cocked to the side, he doubted the pro could either.

"What was that?"

"I said," the man's voice was shaky, terrified even, but not of Endeavor. That much, at least, Izuku could tell. Because when he looked up, fear and resolve shining so very bright in those golden eyes of his, Kronos wasn't even looking at the pro. Wasn't even giving the number one hero the time of day.

He's looking at me.

"I… Am now stronger…" Reaching into his jacket, the man extracted a syringe, before slamming it into his own leg. The hiss of an automatic injection, and Endeavor roared forwards, his flames at the ready. "Than even you, DEKU!"

Kronos's resolve was suffocating, and for a moment, Izuku was vividly reminded of Stain.

What!? Me?!

Then, Kronos moved, and suddenly he was face to face with the hero he'd just claimed to be stronger than, and Izuku had a really, really bad feeling. The kind of bad feeling that told him getting hit would be a terrible, completely shitty idea.

Crap!

One for All surging, Izuku tried to back pedal away from the brutal strike Kronos was throwing his way, but much as he tried, he couldn't escape the attack that made his bones shiver in primal fear. The man's palm connected with Izuku's abdomen, burying itself just under his ribs and stealing his breath as he felt something shift. A violent pain flashing through his flesh as the world around him spun and he was thrown backwards. Izuku felt like every cell in his body was freezing and burning at the same time.

An unimaginable kind of pain that made the world blur and sounds turn to fuzzy, far away echos. For a moment, Izuku thought he was going to lose himself to that pain.

And then it was gone, and Izuku could feel the air whiz around him once again as he was violently hurled backwards.

He vaguely heard a startled yelp as he crashed into someone, throwing both of them to the ground.

Battle instincts taking over, Deku regained his footing quickly, and instinctively placed himself between the person he'd crashed into, and where he knew the fight to be taking place.

Except…

What?

What was once a newly refurbished alleyway was now torn up with neglect, and completely empty of any hero or villain.

The sun… It was almost down when we went after Kronos… Now it's higher than before? How does…

Walking forward, as if in shock, Deku inspected the alleyway and the nearby street signs, looking for any reason to believe that what he thought might have just happened, what he really, really hopped didn't just happen, didn't just happen.

24th and Firehouse… Nope, this is it. This is the alley…

"His quirk was listed as having minor control over the timestream, nothing like this. Could it be… That syringe… Trigger? Is it so advanced now that it allowed him to do something like this? Kirishima told me it made people strong but… And why, why do this? It doesn't make any sense…" Izuku descended into muttering, only interrupted when someone - the person you crashed into a second ago, his mind kindly supplied - spoke.

"Jesus fuck… Um, you ok there hero guy? You seem… Not that great, to be honest."

"Oh, ah, ya I'm-" Izuku stopped, frozen in place as he took in the person before him.

"What?" Rumi Usagiyama, otherwise known as the fucking Rabbit Hero Mirko, otherwise known as the number five hero, asked him, looking around in an atempt to find what he was staring at. "Look, if it's about the groceries I'm kinda pissed, but I think going after whoever fucking threw you like a rag roll is more important than some spilled milk."

Oh shit. She is definitely younger than she's supposed to be. This isn't looking good for me.

"Um, ya, about that." Izuku approached cautiously, flashing his provisional licence as he did to make sure she wouldn't panic and think he was hostile, and rubbed the back of his head. "The names Deku, and well… This is going to sound weird, like really weird, Miss, but um… What, what year is it?"

"What? Um, I mean," She raised an eyebrow, ears twitching as she inspected him through narrowed red eyes, "2140… I really don't wanna ask why, cause I'm afraid of the why, but… Why are you asking?"

"Oh fuck."

"See, now that is not the response I was looking for."

Izuku started pacing, back and forth as he delved back into his mad, anxiety provoked muttering.

I'm in the past, I'm in the past, I'm in the past, holY FUCK! Shit shit shit shit. What do I do? How do I get home? I need help. Who do I go to for help?! UA? All Might? No! No. I can't risk that. I've seen those old time travel movies from the 20th century. If I interact too much with people who are involved in my own future, I might end up accidentally erasing my own fucking existence, fuck!

When in highly stressful situations, where his emotions were running high, Izuku tended to begin mimicking Kacchan's… Language based tendencies. His current situation definitely applied.

So I can't interact with them. As much as I can help it at least. Damn it. This is such a bad situation. Where do I even start?

"Well," Mirko - or really, not Mirko, not yet at least - cut him off, "You can start by taking a breath, calming down, and helping me pick up these damn groceries. Not being in any current mortal danger means you fucking owe me some new eggs damn it. And if not that, then a damn explanation."

"Oh, was I thinking out loud?" Izuku grimaced a bit.

"For the most part, ya."

Sighing, Izuku returned to the young woman's side, and bent over to help pick up the sprawled groceries. She was right, afterall, panicking wouldn't do him any good, and he really did owe her for trashing her stuff, even if it wasn't really his fault.

She was dressed in casual civvies, though it looked like she'd been coming from the gym; at least, that was what the leggings and sweaty old sweatshirt told Izuku.

Picking up the leaking carton of eggs, which were obviously a lost cause, he walked over and threw them in the nearby trash bin.

"Here, uh… Come on," He picked up some of her bags and motioned with his head towards the corner store he saw down the block. "I'll buy you some new eggs if you'd like, it's the least I can do, miss…?"

Can't use her hero name, cause she's not a hero yet - made her debut a few years from now if I recall - and using her given name without being given it would be creepy.

"It's Rumi Usagiyama, and I really wasn't being serious about the whole new eggs thing. They're not that expensive, I don't mind getting them myself." She seemed a bit suspicious, eyes narrowed on his own. "I don't like handouts."

So not just a look alike, or sister or something. It really is her. If I wasn't neck deep in anxiety right now I might ask for an autograph.

"Then don't consider it a hand out. I'm repaying a debt. That's all." Izuku knew from his experience with another red eyed, hot headed hero, who used to give the UA student a very similar look, that the future pro was probably thinking he was looking down on her in some way. Which he wasn't, obviously, but… He did feel bad about the eggs, and well…

I need to take a sec and get my head around this whole time travel thing anyway. A trip to the store for eggs might be enough for me to calm down enough that I don't feel like I'm going to suffocate and throw up at the same fucking time.

Izuku gave her his best smile - only to realise his mask was still up, and reached back to click the release and let the metal fall around his neck - and willed his sincerity to show.

"What do you say, Miss Usagiyama?"

She groaned in what sounded like minor frustration, but felt more resigned than anything.

"Alright, lets go."

Sweet.

The little trip was uneventful, which was fine, because it gave Izuku enough time to try and get a grip on the situation. He had little to no resources - armed with only the cash he had in his wallet and the clothes on his back- no backup, and no way home. He couldn't reach out to the people he did trust, because he didn't want to mess up the timeline, but he also knew he couldn't just do this on his own. He didn't even know where he was going to sleep that night, much less where to begin in tracking down someone who had a powerful enough time quirk that they could send him home.

While he smiled at the woman with bull horns who was manning the cash register, he couldn't help the frown that was building in his heart.

Why did Kronos send me back anyway? What was his goal? None of this makes any sense and it's making me stressed. He was working with the League, and I was obviously his target. I was the farthest person away from him. He could have hit anyone else with that attack, but he went after me specifically. Why would he want me in the past? Why would the League want me in the past? Is Shigaraki hoping I'm going to erase myself? I was a target back during the camp attack so it would make sense…

Deciding that was his best guess, he nodded to himself as he rejoined the future number five where she sat outside, waiting for him.

Which leaves me without a plan, without a way home, and without any allies…

Except the future pro who was standing right in front of him. The future number five who Izuku knew for certain he'd never interacted with before, and who went to - while a much less prestigious than UA - a hero school of her own. A marked genius only topped by the likes of Hawks.

This is incredibly selfish of me, and it would probably be best if she didn't get involved at all, but…

He grimaced as she went to take the bag from him, realising he needed to make a decision.

I'm desperate.

"It's ok! I can carry it!" He smiled, beginning to walk back the way they came. "And well… I wanted to talk with you about your… Question, earlier."

She raised an eyebrow.

"About… Explaining yourself?"

He nodded, looking around to make sure no one else was around, before pushing onward.

Desperate.

"The truth is probably, well, probably what you're thinking. I'm not exactly… From here, if you know what I mean."

She gave Izuku the side eye.

"Like, time travel? For real? I've seen prank videos where people pull the same shit you did, running around asking what year it is, all freaked out… But, you're serious, aren't you?"

Izuku nodded.

"I was involved in an operation to bring in a villain by the name of Kronos. He had a time quirk that allowed him to alter the timestream in small ways, but well… He juiced up with Trigger, and here I am."

Usagiyama inspected him, obviously looking to pull out any hint of a lie she could find, but when she found none, she gave a heavy sigh.

"You're being serious aren't you."

"Completely."

"And you're telling me why?"

"Well, to be honest…" He stopped, rubbing his neck as the teen turned to face him. "I'm desperate. I know you because you become a hero in the future… Mirko, that's your name. But we've never like, had a conversation. I've never met you in person. So…" He sighed, meeting her crimson eyes and mustering up all the honest courage he could. "The point is I don't want to risk getting involved with anyone I know, 'cause I don't want to screw up the timeline, or erase myself, and I know I can at least trust you because you're a hero, or, will be a hero, so because I don't know you at all…"

"I'm the perfect candidate for you to get help from and not screw up the timeline in any way."

Looking guilty, Izuku closed his eyes and nodded, embarrassed.

She groaned.

"All right, I need some evidence here. I can't just believe you at face value. Cough it up. Id, hero license, any and everything that might help prove you're from when you say you are."

He followed her command, and if anyone were to have found them at that moment, they probably would have thought the rabbit girl was mugging him. He emptied his pockets, from his wallet, to his Ids and phone, and handed it all over to Usagiyama for inspection.

She flipped flipped absentmindedly through his wallet, coming to a stop on his school Id-

"UA huh, makes you pretty good I guess…"

-and eventually his hero license and phone. She was amazed at the piece of small tech the most, forcing him to give up his password so she could scroll through it and check things out, from his contacts to his calendar; which was unaffected by the trip through time and still showed August 5th, 2147.

Usagiyama sighed.

"Fine. I believe you, crazy as your story is, I've never seen a phone like that, and your provisional license passes the validity checks, so you're not a fake." She sat down on the nearby park bench, looking almost as tired as Izuku felt. "So what now? You wanted my help right? What's the plan?"

"I…" Izuku hung his head, "I don't really have one. Time quirks are extremely rare, and my best shot right now is to try and track down the younger Kronos and have him undo whatever it is his older self did to get me here, but I don't know if he'll even be able to, or even where to start on finding him. I don't even know where I'm going to sleep tonight, much less where to begin the search." The young hero sat down next to her, glaring into the concrete.

"You're just pathetic, aren't you." Usagiyama growled, though it soon transitioned into a resigned groan. "This is what I get for wanting to be a hero I guess, complicated, troublesome bullshit." She stood, grabbing Deku by the hair and dragging him up with her - much to his discomfort. "You can stay with me, you depressed, cinnamon roll, broccoli brained mother fucker. I can't just leave you like this, all pitiful and shit. I'm gonna be a hero, so now I have to step in."

Broccoli brained?

The woman was already a few steps ahead of him when what she said finally set in.

"Wha, What!? You don't need to-!"

"After that pathetic excuse for a sob story? Please, just hurry your ass up will you? I have hungry brats at home I need to feed, and if you're going to be another one of those hungry brats, you're going to have to pull your damn weight! And you can't do that if you don't hurry up, so hurry, the hell, up!"

Izuku bolted to her side, sweating profusely.

She's like… If Kacchan was a girl.

Shoving some more bags into his hands, she began leading the way back to what he assumed was her home.

I can't help but wonder if I should have chanced it with All Might…

Annnnd, Done. Chapter one is a wrap, hopefully. I'll run through it again tomorrow, when I'm more aware, for one last read before deciding it's good enough to let be. However, you all get it now anyway! Hope you enjoyed, and be on the lookout for more eventualy! Like I said, once or twice a week updates depending, so I'll definitly be around!

Everyone stay safe and healthy!
