Hello everyone!

Now that we are in quarantine I have some time.

Silly one-shots that come to my mind.

No beta so my mistakes!

Please, stay safe!

Manon.

It was a nice party. Sharon was really happy. Almost everybody she loved was there. And that was what was important. She had become an important figure in his life, an important friend. If someone, back in the days, had told her he would be friends with Sharon Raydor, he would not have believed them. But here he was. Watching her laugh with her sons.

He felt a delicate hand on his shoulder and turned around.

"Hi."

"Hello," Andy said.

"I'm Emily." The young woman said with a smile.

"I know. I saw a lot of pictures of you." Andy answered her. "And I'm-."

"No, wait. Let me guess." She narrowed her eyes and smiled conspiratorially at him. "You're too old to be the tech guy. You don't look like a Julio, nor an Amy." Andy laughed at her. "Now you're either, Mike, Andy or Provenza. I know Mike and I think Provenza is the oldest so you must be Andy."

Andy laughed. She had probably met everybody before the party but Emily was a funny one.

"Very impressive. You should be a detective."

Emily laughed and pushed him on the chest lightly. "I don't think I could trade my ballerina uniform for a police officer uniform."

Andy looked around and spotted Sharon. "Your mom would not be happy about it."

"No. But I could meet handsome and muscular officers." She said, putting a hand on his arm.

"Here you are darling!" Sharon exclaimed when she joined her daughter and Andy.

"I will leave you two talking." Andy smiled before walking away.

"Are you alright?" Sharon asked her daughter when she saw her daughter looking at Andy's back.

"Yes. So tell me, mom. How well do you know Andy?"

"Oh. Pretty well now."

"Are you two close?"

Sharon looked at her daughter surprised. Had Emily seen through her? She had tried to hide her growing crush on Andy and she thought she had done a good job.

"Not really. Why?" She was almost scared to ask.

"He is nice."

"Yes. He is."

Both women were looking at Andy who was talking to Amy and laughing with her. She dropped her napkin on the floor and Andy picked it up for her. Mother and daughter both smiled at this.

….

"Oh, Andy."

Andy startled when he heard his name just behind him.

"Sorry. I didn't mean to startle you."

"It's okay. I had not heard you coming. Light as a ballerina." He smiled.

"What were you doing on your own?" Emily asked, sitting on his desk.

"There are some files that just arrived and I need to send them before midnight."

"Linked to Santa's murder?"

Andy laughed and nodded his head.

"Can I help?"

"No, it's all confidential." Andy looked up at her. "What are you doing here? Did you need anything."

"I was looking for the bathroom."

"Oh. I could use a break. Let me walk you to it."

…..

Sharon was looking for Emily. She had not seen her for the last twenty minutes. She approached the corridor leading to the bathroom when she heard voices. One she immediately recognize as her daughter's and the other one she also knew well by now, Andy's. She was about to show herself when she heard her daughter talk.

"I didn't know police officers could look so good in three pieces."

Saying Sharon was shocked was a euphemism. She knew she shouldn't but she stayed hidden to hear some more.

"Well thank you."

"Listen, I know I'm here for only a few days but maybe if you have some time, we could take a coffee."

There were a few seconds of silence. Sharon was holding her breath. Did her daughter had just asked Andy on a date? What would be Andy's response?

"Hmm… Emily. Are you… Are you asking me on a date?"

"Maybe."

Sharon felt very uncomfortable hearing her daughter talking to a man like that. It would have been embarrassing enough with any man. But hearing Emily flirting with Andy was torture.

Sharon knew that Emily was a beautiful young woman. And Andy liked beautiful young women. She knew that.

"Emily, I'm flattered. Really. You are beautiful, witty and nice-"

"I can sense a "but" coming."

"But I cannot accept."

Emily looked down and smiled. "May I know why?"

When she looked up, Andy was blushing. "Your mother."

"Oh? You're scared of her reaction?"

"No. No. It's not that. It is really delicate. I… I was kinda hoping… In the future…"

"Oh god." Emily laughed. "You want to date my mother? I'm so ridiculous…"

Andy put a comforting hand on Emily's shoulder. "No, you're not. As I said I'm flattered and you can have any man, your age, you want. It's just that for some time now I… I'm attracted to your mother."

Sharon gasped and covered her mouth with her hand.

"Andy it's okay. You don't have to explain. I hoped it won't cause any trouble between you and my mom. She deserves someone great and I can tell you are. Thank you for being so nice." Emily said.

Hidden in her place, Sharon heard Emily kissing Andy, on the cheek she guessed (and hoped).

She saw her daughter passing by her, her shoulders shaking with silent laughter. She waited a few seconds before coming out. When she arrived in the corridor, Andy was standing up against the wall, his head toward the ceiling and his eyes closed.

"Hey." She whispered. She had to contain her laughter when Andy almost tripped over his own feet at the sight of her.

"Sharon."

They stayed silent for a few seconds. Neither knew how to engage in a conversation.

"How much of that did you hear?" Andy asked.

Sharon did not pretend. They had based their entire relationship on trust and truth.

"Everything I think."

"Listen, nothing is gonna happen between Emily and I. Even if she had not been your daughter, I would not have done anything. Did I date much younger in the past? Yes. Was that a good thing? Not really. Did I-"

"Andy, it's okay. I trust you. You don't have to explain. What I want to ask however is why my daughter was the first one to know you want to ask me on a date."

"Because I'm scared you gonna say no. That's gonna ruin our friendship. That I make you miserable."

Sharon stepped closer so she was standing right in front of him.

"I'm scared too. But maybe when my kids are back home we could have a chat."

Andy smiled at her. That kind of smile that made her have butterflies in her stomach. "I would like that."

Sharon smiled and was about to walk away when Andy grabbed her hand.

"So, we're okay?"

Sharon could see how insecure he was. She looked around, raised on her tiptoes and kissed him. A sweet kiss that lasted only a few seconds but it felt so nice.

"We're okay," Sharon whispered and turned on her heels to go back to the party. Just before turning in the murder room, she looked over her shoulder and laughed. Andy was throwing his fists up, a huge smile on his face.

He was so handsome.
