PART 1: The Gate
Hope in The Form of a Gate
Ten trillion years after the death of the last white dwarf. The last of the remaining types of civilizations in the Universe-035H2 cling to life, travelling the pitch-black cosmos in planet sized ships, leaving behind the dead and withering planets they once called home. In the literal darkness of space, no light emits from any stars for all of them have died. After the unannounced disappearance of the advanced type-IV civilizations, these civilizations work together to survive the final years of their universe, which is slowly approaching it's final days. Their scientists work desperately to find a way to escape this collapsing universe of theirs. Escape it somehow to inhabit another younger universe, a universe where they can continue on their reign without the fear of dying in eternal darkness. A universe where they can finally taste the legend of a star's warmth; fresh air, green forests, fresh water. Everything a planet from the legends of time says they give to those in the past. To be born in darkness and to die in darkness was not a plan of theirs. Yet, it seems inevitable as slowly all of the universe's energy begins to die out, as they drain the last of the universe's energy and the light in their ships begin to blink. All of their hopes and dreams were crushed. Yet, hope takes form in many ways. And this hope of theirs takes the form of a gate.
It was another uneventful day aboard the Metal-Planet of the Milkinians. Milkinians are a type-III civilization and the third to final stage of evolution for a species called Humans. They have developed brains thrice, it's original size. Being able to use a hundred percent of their brain. They are able to hover in the air; move objects with their mind, read minds and release a kind of energy wave that affects others in a different type of manner, depending on their race. Many of their past selves scientists thought that as their brains grew, their bodies would shrink. But the discovery of a new law of nature states that the body will develop to support the rest of itself, including the head. Meaning, their bodies grew to a naturally muscular build. Making them intelligent, white giants. Years Before the death of the last red giants, their species constructed a metal sphere, the size of a normal planet. Accompanied by several hundred starships that act as their military, they roam the dark cosmos draining the energy from blackholes before moving to the next. Other species from several other galaxies have done the same, creating their own moving Metal-Planets to roam the cosmos.
Emperor Cleont IV warrily sits on his throne. He knows that the future of their species is inevitable unless they can find a way out of this universe. At first, many scientists thought that if they were to travel through a blackhole, they'd end up in another parallel universe. Yet when he sent an explorer team to check if this theory was true, providing them with the most complex of ships that their hands could create, they ended up finding themselves in the far edge of the universe, stuck in the same place they tried to escape. The laws of physics of their universe unallowing them to bend it's rules, forcing them into a corner as they try and try again to find a loophole that the more advanced civilizations that came before them have done.
In desperation, emperor Cleont IV has issued all of their resources and manpower into finding more methods in escaping this dying universe of theirs. Many scientists have come up with various theories that he's given approval to, yet they all end up a failure one way or the other. As he is driven to the edge of his patience, the emperor begins to lose hope. His people have been waiting for the day that they would one day taste the sun once again, taste the gifts a planet would give to them that a metal giant cannot.
There was a knock on his throne room door. He signaled to his guards to let whoever that is in, hoping for some good news from one of his most trusted scientists. To his surprise, general Von-Victorique came walking in, a look of concern on his face. Cleont grips his thrones armrest as his general kneels before him. Rarely does his general come in to address him of any news that may occur in this time of darkness. But when he did have something to say, it was never good.
"Could it be finally the Spiral Empire's declaration of war? Have they finally become that desperate to attack us for our resources?" Emperor Cleont worriedly thinks to himself. He gestures to his general to stand and speak whatever news he has.
Von-Victorique stands up and bows to his superior. "My lord, a foriegn object has suddenly appeared in the park central. I have ordered most of the civilians to evacuate for now and I have placed several guards to watch over it. The object appears to take the form of a gate, a portal from what our scanners show. Our estimates show that the portal's opening is 34 feet tall and 22 feet wide. Honestly my lord, I have no idea what this is. The gate portal also appears to be transparent, it's just like looking through water if you ask me."
The emperor was confused, if the Spiral empire or any of the other empires wanted to attack them, the portal would've opened in just matter of seconds and their forces would've been storming into their home. But still, they couldn't lower their guard.
"Alright, take four teams of battle droids and whatever weapons you feel necessary to put up against whatever may appear out of this gate."
Von-Victorique nods his head and bows one more time. "Yes my lord," With that, he turns to leave the throne room.
Cleont was worried. Whatever may come out of that gate, portal, whatever that thing is. It's probably not going to be good. He just prays that the other empires haven't decided to declare war.
Four teams of battle droids took up positions around the gate, avoiding the line of sight of it's opening in order to avoid a blast if one was to be shot from inside the gate. Two teams of RFB2's take up positions several yards away from the gate's opening, hidden from sight. Several gravity tanks lined up around the gate, cannons cocked and ready to fire at any hostiles coming out from the gate. Several light air-drones hover around above the gate, their computer's targeting system ready to lock on to any targets that appear out of the gate.
General Von-Victorique assigned captain Philip-Wesley to command the force surrounding the gate. He stood with two teams of men far from the reach of the gate, but still within their line of sight. He watched as the rest of the droids took up their positions around the gate, blasters cocked.
"Droid-Captain you may now activate your cloaks," Philip-Wesley orders from his transmitter.
"Roger captain, activating cloaks," The Droid-Captain replied, switching off.
The Droid-Captain signalled to the rest of the other droids to activate their cloaks. The droids clicked in response and flicked a switch on their arm pads. Within seconds, all the droids disappeared from view from the naked eye, followed by the tanks and drones.
They stood there waiting, waiting for whatever may come out of this gate, this portal. Then finally the gate formed. It's once transparent structure now physically formed. The gate stood there, massive and exotic. Captain Philip-Wesley watched the gate in confusion. None of the other civilizations had architecture like this. Yet, the gate looked almost familiar to him, something that he feels like he should know.
Then the sound of hoofbeats echoed from the gate. Philip-Wesley and his men watched as men clad in armour rode on horseback came out of the gate, followed by foot soldiers wearing similar armour to those on horseback. They all held spears and large rectangular shields with symbols painted on them. Then out came the mutants, never had Philip-Wesley seen creatures such as them. Sure the other civilizations had their own looks but these mutants resembled those of their animals. big Pig-like men stomped out of the gate followed by small impish creatures and men with heads of hyenas and other animal-like creatures. Then the dragons flew out, dozens of them. Men armed with spears rode the dragons and wyverns as they flew around the air, breathing out their breath of fire as they gave out a roar. The men on horseback, probably their leaders, noticed Philip-Wesley and his men and signalled to the footsoldiers. He pulled out a horn and blew into it, the sound booming into the empty park. The army of the gate yelled a battle cry as they charged towards Philip-Wesley and his men.
"Now!" Philip-Wesley barked into his transmitter.
The droids let loose their carnage, beams and lasers ripping through the opposing forces. The forces of the gate yell in confusion as blue beams that seemed to appear out of nowhere ripped through them, their armour providing them no protection at all. The gravity tanks boomed as they released their payload, their beams ripping through rows and rows of the gate's army. The drone's rained carnage from the sky, firing hundreds of beams per second as they blasted down the dragons into pieces, chunks of meat flying everywhere. In less than a minute, the gate's army has been reduced to limbs and torsos, Dead bodies lay scattered on the ground as they burn in flames. The few who had survived the carnage watched in horror as their fellow men were reduced to minced meat in a matter of seconds. They attempted to flee back into the gate but were blocked off by the battle droids who had just uncloaked themselves. Philip-Wesley had expected an attack from the Spirals or something tougher, but this… this was just a massacre, it was just like a mob of mindless creatures running towards their rain of fire, like in a videogame bonus round.
Captain Philip-Wesley ordered the droids to detain the survivors and to throw them into prison for interrogation later on. He then left his Lieutenant in charge to deal with the rest as he left to report to Von-Victorique the news.
"Romans, with dragons and mutants alongside them?" Cleont said, dumbfounded by what his general and lead scientist told him.
Chentivs, the lead scientist nodded his head. "Yes, my lord. Their weapons and the language they speak, which they call common, resembles an Old Earth empire called the Romans. Their language is quite similar to that of latin which the Romans spoke. After going through their memories, it seems that the empire they serve is the most dominant force in the land they come from, ruling over the multiple species that inhabit their land and being the source of everything; ranging from influence, currency, power and culture. Their emperor, Molt Sol Augustus, had ordered them to invade the gate when it had opened from the land they came from so that they could further spread their power and influence. But, the most striking thing that we've learned from them is... their land. Their memories of it are of fertile soil, fresh air, huge forests, green lands, fresh water, a blue sky! And a real sun," Chentivs stood up as he said this, his face showing pure joy.
"Sire, this world they come from. It's from another universe!"
"Another universe," Cleont repeated to himself as he held his head, taking in the words.
"Another universe! Chentivs, do you mean-"
Chentivs cut him off, a huge smile on his face. "Yes my lord, the gate is a passageway leading to another universe! The answer we've been looking for all these years!"
Cleont was awestruck by all this. Fresh air? Green lands? A real sun? All his dreams seemed to be coming true all at once. He stood up and jogged down the stairs from his throne, he approached Chentivs and gripped his shoulders.
"This gate? Is it still open?"
Chentivs gave Cleont a huge smile. "Open and accessible, that is why general Von-Victorique is here with me, sire. He would like to ask permission from you to be able to explore this special region and possibly move our people and forces into this world."
Cleont turned to Von-Victorique who gave him a nod. "Yes my lord, I request all available forces in our self-defense force to be able to enter this region and secure a perimeter for us to begin building houses for future residences."
In a heartbeat, Cleont nodded his head. "General, I give you permission to enter this gate and secure it for our people."
Von-Victorique gave a smile and saluted his emperor. "Yes sir!" With that, they both take their leave and head off to prepare for the march for the special region.
Cleont returned to his throne and sat. Could this really be it? Our hopes and dreams? Cleont couldn't help but smiling, the thoughts of green lands, fresh air and a real sun! But he thought of the other empires who wanted the same thing too.
"You there," He pointed to a guard who immediately ran and knelt in front of him.
"Yes my lord," The guard said, bowing before his emperor.
"Give general Yvetal a call, we need to keep this 'gate' a secret from all the other civilizations."
PART 2: The Special Region
In With The Old
In a matter of minutes, Von-Victorique assembled a huge army for the journey through the gate. Thousands of battle-droids stood firm, awaiting orders as gravity tanks and vehicles lined up behind the ranks of droids. Aviation and scout ships sat atop the transporters, remaining unactivated until they entered the special region. All this was more than enough to secure a large perimeter around the gate, but from what the scouts report to him, there seems to be a huge army awaiting them beyond the gate. But, if what Chentivs tells him is true, These type-0 civilizations aren't even worthy to be called opponents by him. A waste of ammunition if he would say so himself, and so he decided that he'd have a little fun with them first before massacring them.
"Bring in the immobilizer!" He ordered.
Several droids led a huge tank forward, the tank hovered several inches in the air as it moved towards the gate, it's body slightly rocking as it's gravity engine allowed it to hover in the air. The tank's shape was that of a transporter, rectangular with a squarish cockpit up front, piloted by a single droid. It's blue headlights shining through the gloomy tunnel of the gate, which seemed to go on in an endless, dark abyss.
"Send only the immobilizer in," Von-Victorique ordered the droid-captain.
Von-Victorique's lieutenant looked at him confused. "General, are you sure?"
Von-Victorique nodded his head. "This is enough."
The immobilizer moved forward, entering the gate, followed by the droids who marched forward in unison, keeping a short distance away from the immobilizer. They travelled for a few minutes, the whirring of the immobilizer and the marching of the droids echoing through the tunnel as slowly, a bright light began to shine at them. The droids stood to a halt as the immobilizer approached the end of the tunnel, entering the special region.
It was late afternoon, general Atticus tensely watched as a pair of blue eyes came out of the gate, it's huge rectangular frame slightly rocked as it seemed to hover several inches in the air. He could feel the dread his men felt as they all tightly gripped their weapons and stared at the huge beast as it came to a stop on the top of the rocky hill. General Atticus was scared, not a single man from the vanguard came back out of the gate to report loss or victory, he didn't know what to expect from whatever these 'things' from the other side of the gate might possess against them. He waited for more of these blue eyed beasts to come out of the gate but to his surprise nothing else came out. They all stood there for what seemed like hours, the beast stood there, silently watching them, sensing their fears. He knew he couldn't back away now, his king would have his head if he were to order a retreat. Mustering up all the courage he had left in him, he let out a loud yell and ordered his men.
"CHARGE!"
They hesitated at first but then they lurched forward, yelling at the top of their lungs, weapons drawn and pointed towards the beast.
Then the beast's back opened. It's sides seemed to spread as a blue sphere rose from it's back, emitting electricity from it. Atticus stopped running as he watched in horror as the sphere rose to the air, his men continued to charge forward, screaming hysterically as they watched the ball rise to the air. Thunder seemed to shoot out of it, rumbling as it sparked in the sky, then a loud boom erupted from it. Sending a shockwave across the valley striking through every man within its reach. Atticus shut his eyes the second the sphere erupted. He felt something strike through him, violently shaking his body as a loud sound rang in his ears. He opened his eyes, thinking he was dead, but to his surprise he found that he still stood at the same hill they were running up on. He sighed and tried to move, but when he tried to walk, he found to his horror that he couldn't move. Horrified, he attempted to yell but he couldn't move his tongue nor his mouth. He tried to swing or move about but his body stood stiff, like a statue. The only thing that could move were his eyes, he could still blink and glance around. He looked around and saw his men standing still, caught in the middle of a running stance, they all had looks of terror in their faces as he saw their eyes move about frantically, terrified. He glanced up in the sky and saw the dragons stopped mid-air in the sky, gravity seemed to have no effect on them as they remained still in the sky, none of their muscles or wings moving.
Then loud heavy footsteps could be heard, a unified thumping which seemed to grow louder as the sounds grew closer. Then metal knights appeared from the gate. They had glowing blue eyes, similar to that of the huge metal beast. They poured out of the gate, in a disciplined and orderly manner. Their legs marched in unison, the sounds of their metal feet echoing through the silent valley. They held strange metallic objects which they seemed to cradle in their arms. Then they began to approach Atticus and his men, he could see them better now. Their eyes weren't human, not even that of a beast's eyes. They looked cold and empty, soulless even. They approached the first line of his men and they raised the metal objects they were carrying. Then a loud bang screamed, a blue beam burst from the barrel of their weapons, piercing through the heads of rows of several men. Terrified, Atticus tried to move, he tried and tried but his body wouldn't allow it. Silent tears fell from his eyes as he cried, a hoarse gurgled sound came out of his throat as he tried to scream. The metal creatures continued to march forward, blasting the heads of everymen that appeared before them. Gurgled yelling could be heard as soldiers tried to yell in horror, sounds of terror and fear could be heard from their voices. Then the metal creatures blasted the men in front of him, the blue beam striking his shoulder as it ripped through the man's head. Atticus screamed inside as blue flames burned in his shoulder, the flames eating away at his muscles and flesh. Then the metal creature stepped forward, it's blue soulless eyes stared into him as it pointed it's weapon at his face, firing it's blue beam of death as Atticus screamed a last gurgle of horror as it ripped through his brain.
Von-Victorique stepped outside of the gate and entered the special region. The blasts of lasers and the wasted gurgled screams of the 'cavemen' could be heard as he breathed in the first breath of fresh air he's ever tasted in his life. The breeze blew against his uniform and the sun's warm rays burned his sensitive skin. But he didn't care, it was a feeling he only felt in his dreams, it brought tears to his eyes. Von-Victorique knelt on the rocky ground and cried, it was truly a dream come true. He couldn't wait to taste the fresh water, the taste of a fruit, all of these dreams were finally within his reach. Von-Victorique wiped his tears and got up, he turned to the construction droids who had just entered through the gate.
"Begin construction of our base of operations, barracks, walls and defense structures, I want this all done by nightfall."
The construction droids clicked in response and immediately began their work. Von-Victorique looked out into the valley and watched his slaughter continue.
Von-Victorique wasn't surprised that these 'cavemen' weren't able to counter the immobilizer's effects. He found it slightly entertaining as he sadistically watched the battle droids kill the mongrel soldiers in a slow and terrifying pace, as deliberately ordered by him.
Von-Victorique then turned his attention to the forests, admiring the landscape as he watched the clouds drift across the sky. He smiled to himself and patted the dirt away from his knees, their conquest had barely just begun.
DATABASE-
Universe-035H2: One of the universes in the multi-verse and the home of the Milkinians and several other species. This universe is very old and has a different law of physics which affect the species of this universe differently than the other universes, unallowing them to fully control their universe.
Metal-Planet: A sphere-like structure made by advanced lifeforms. Taking the shape of a planet, with its own engineered core and specially made air and water to replicate the characteristics a life-friendly planet would give.
Milkinians: The second to final stage of evolution for a species called Humans. But du eto a different law of physic sin their universe, they retain a physical body. They have developed brains thrice, it's original size. Being able to use a hundred percent of their brain. They are able to hover in the air; move objects with their mind, read minds and release a kind of energy wave that affects others in a different type of manner, depending on their race. Making them intelligent, white giants.
Spiral Empire: A species of large Insectoids, with the bodies of a mantis and the head of an ant. They reproduce in large amounts and they are the largest empire in the Universe-035H2.
Battle droids: After the victory of the Milkinians over a robot revolution trillions of lightyears ago. The droids have become the common soldier of the milkinian army. Each droid is capable of firing accurately and engaging in close quarters combat expertly. Resembling the look of a medieval knight. Most of the inhabitants of the world of the gate refer to them as 'Metal Knights.'
RFB2: A Large cannon capable of firing an endless beam of energy depending on its charge.
Gravity tanks: Old type-II weapons. They are huge tanks that hover several inches off the ground. They are capable of firing endless bursts of energy depending on their charge. They also have a special feature which allows them to cancel out the gravity around them with a radius of 10 feet.
Light air-drones: A type-II weapon. They are small drones that fly in the air with their anti-gravity engines. Capable of reconnaissance and heavy support, this small guy can pack a heavy punch with its rapid fire of laser beams. Capable of firing 2 dozens of beams per second.
Droid-Captain: Slightly larger than the common battle-droid, these droids are capable of making their own split-second decisions and leading small teams of droids.
Cloak: A feature that every droid has in their arm pads that allow them to become invisible to the naked eye. Although it is easily detected by Type-III technology, it is still useful depending on its use and for surprise attacks.
Arm pad: A small pad located on the left arm of a droid. A small computer containing features and special abilities that are able to be used by droids under the permission of a certified commander, general, etc. Droids are able to use this under certain circumstances.
Immobilizer: A very old type-II super weapon capable of halting the movement of matter in all living objects. Due to advancement of technology, the immobilizer acts as a Type-III flash bang for advanced civilizations and can be cancelled with special devices. But without these special devices, the immobilizer's effects can last up to 10 minutes. This weapon is commonly used in Type-IV sports games where it is used to stop the players when the clock rings.
AN: Hey there! Hope you guys like my Gate fanfiction. In the next chapter I'll be introducing the main characters and their story will begin in the next one. For any of you wondering, this battle did not take place in Alnus hill, it actually took place elsewhere far from the empire. So yes, Itami and the JSDF will still be here, and yes they will encounter the milkinians so I'm pretty sure you know what to expect in the following chapters. When you all thought that the JSDF was op, the milkinians are far beyond that. But anyways, please feel free to rate and review my fanfic, if you have any comments or suggestions feel free to pm me and please check out my other stories on fictionpress, they're all under the same username, LightbulbHD. And I'll read you all in the next chapter!
