(I'm already regretting this)

Hello. Welcome to my very first Five Nights at Freddy's FanFic. I once promised myself that I would never dive into this archive (apart from reading that one FNaF story), but in the end, I guess I couldn't help myself. This story has been something I've wanted to do for a while. The first two chapters I just posted are more like a test run for this story, just to see if I can keep going. I never know how a story will be received at first, and knowing what people want/don't want to read is a big factor in whether or not I will continue.

Anyways, enjoy.

Feel free to leave a review and let me know what you think. It would really be appreciated.

...

Before you start, I just want to clarify a few things:

1. Don't let the summary and the cover photo fool you. Yes, this story is based on FNaF World, which is the most colorful and most light-hearted (and most infamous) game in the franchise, but I want to make the best of both worlds. I'm taking the fun, quirkiness, and combat style of FNaF World and writing a more serious story around it. Go fun and go dark, kinda.

2. Almost every animatronic in the franchise will be included in this, including the Sister Location animatronics, Pizzeria Simulator animatronics, FNaF VR animatronics, etc.

3. I try to make most of the animatronics' personalities similar to their personalities in the games. It just makes me comfortable keeping certain things close to the source material, but I try to exercise creative freedom on certain characters.

4. The theories incorporated into this story may/may not be for everyone. Proceed with caution. (I just simply want to tell a story)

5. I may leave notes/explanations on the bottom of each chapter to explain myself, my story decisions, and stuff that really need explaining.

...

A bright, sunny day in a lovely forest. At least, that's what it appears to be. As the old saying goes, things are not always as they seem. But does it apply to now? The sky is so blue. The clouds look as puffy as marshmallows. Birds and butterflies fly high and low. The trees are very green and very healthy. The flowers are colorful and plentiful. It looks so bright and peaceful, doesn't it? Well, there is one peculiar sight amongst all of these bright colors. Slumped against the bark of a tree, eyes closed, and holding a microphone in his hand is a big brown bear.

Freddy Fazbear.

The animatronic bear opens his eyes. While the lovely forest that has overtaken his view is a pleasing sight, the feeling of happiness did not overcome Freddy. Instead, he appeared confused. There was a sign nearby that says: "Welcome to Fazbear Woods." Fazbear Woods? What's that?

"Where am I?" Freddy wondered.

"Do not fear, Freddy," said the disembodied voice in the bear's head.

"Huh? Who are you?" Freddy reacted, alarmed.

"It's me," said the mysterious voice.

"Golden Freddy?" Freddy realized. "Is that you? And why are you talking in my head?"

"That does not matter now," said Golden Freddy. "You must find our friends - Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy. The Puppet wishes to speak with you."

"The Puppet? Okay then," Freddy responded.

Freddy starts looking for his friends, as Golden Freddy instructed him. Where to look first, he wondered. There's nothing around him but trees, grass, bushes, birds, and butterflies. Might as well start walking, he told himself.

As he walked, Freddy continued to eye his surroundings with awe. For years, he has been confined to the inside of a pizzeria. He has gotten so used to it that seeing the outside world is a strange moment for him. To see the sun, to see so much green, to see so much lively colors, it is all brand new for the animatronic. Still, he has no idea what's going. Three questions bother him.

Where is he?

How did he get here?

Since when does Golden Freddy have telepathy?

The only way Freddy can find answers to these questions is to do what Golden Freddy asked of him. To look for Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy. Maybe it's because he's been sleeping for who knows how long, but it feels like it's been forever since he last saw his friends.

Freddy keeps walking and walking and walking... he seems to be getting faster the longer he walks. His servos feel like they're loosening as he keeps walking. His limbs definitely felt tight when he woke up earlier. They must have been locking up because of long sleep. But now, he no longer feels like a rusty old bear. It's like a workout. Do animatronics need to work out?

Freddy's aimless walking comes to an end when he finally found something. A building. The logo above the door has a computer screen and a video game controller on it. The name of the building is "Toy Freddy's Gaming Center."

"Toy Freddy? He's here?" Freddy wondered curiously.

"Indeed I am," said a jolly voice.

Freddy turns around and sees the supposed owner of the gaming place. Toy Freddy. He still looks the same as ever. Shiny on the outside with the red cheeks and a red stripe on his black hat.

"Welcome to Toy Freddy's Gaming Center, where animatronics can enjoy or waste time playing video games," said Toy Freddy.

"Uh... okay?" Freddy was speechless, because he's just confused all over again.

"I've got everything from first-person shooters to survival horror, as well as my personal favorite: Five Nights with Mr. Hugs," Toy Freddy continued, enthused.

"I don't even know who Mr. Hugs is," said Freddy.

"Well, consider yourself lucky. He's not exactly the chummiest of Trash and the Gang," said Toy Freddy. He sounded miffed mentioning Mr. Hugs. "Always jumpscaring me in the game and in real life," he muttered bitterly.

"Oh, sweet cheese and..." Freddy facepalmed. "Toy Freddy, where are Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy?"

"I don't know where Bonnie and Foxy are, but I did see Chica working over at Fazburger," said Toy Freddy.

"Fazburger? What kind of lame spin-off establishment is a Fazburger?" Freddy responded.

"Hey, the burgers may not be as good as the pizza in our old pizzeria, but ever since Chica started working at Fazburger, the burgers have been a delight," said Toy Freddy. "Try one yourself when you get there. Don't knock 'til you take a bite."

The sound of a truck backing up ends the conversation between the two bears. A six-wheel truck slowly moves backwards towards the gaming shop and stops just a few feet near the game shop owner. The side of the truck says "Helpy's Helpful Services." The door to the driver's seat opens. Coming out of the driver's seat is a white bear.

This bear is about half the size of a regular bear animatronic. He looks cute, actually. The purple all over him perfectly compliment his shiny white exterior. The rosy pinkish cheeks only add to the adorable factor. Those blue eyes could make any child want to hug him. He's wearing a cute little blue hat like that of a deliveryman; fitting considering the vehicle he's driving. Freddy didn't need to ask for this little bear's name, as his name was already spelled on the truck. Helpy.

"Here's the new top-of-the-line gaming equipment you ordered, Toy Freddy," Helpy said in an adorable voice. "Computer screens. Consoles. Controllers. Cost-effective and covers your cost. Your gaming center is about to become an even bigger hit."

"Thanks, Helpy," said Toy Freddy. "Hey, Freddy. You wanna help with the improvements and test out the new games?"

"Thanks, but I have important things to do. See you, Toy Freddy," Freddy said with his annoyed tone mostly hidden, eager to leave.

Freddy walks away. Toy Freddy smiles and waves at his regular counterpart, even though Freddy seems to be ignoring him. Still, Freddy can't deny that it's nice to have a chipper personality like Toy Freddy around. Decades of darkness need to balanced with some goodness.

Fazburger. That is where Toy Freddy says Chica is. It looks like any regular burger joint, but the burgers are supposedly much better now, thanks to its new employee. Freddy enters the front door. There's no one inside. So much for the improved products, Freddy thought mockingly. He can hear noises in the kitchen. Sounds of sizzling and frying of stuff, as well as humming. Freddy opens the kitchen door and there she is.

Chica... and her cupcake.

The Cupcake sits on top of a shelf while Chica makes burgers. She's humming the old Freddy Fazbear's Pizza theme song as she cooks. Some memories never die, huh?

"Hey, Chica," Freddy greeted.

Chica lowers the temperature of the grill and turns around. She smiles at the sight of a close friend.

"Hi, Freddy," Chica greeted. "You're finally awake."

"How long have you been awake?" asked Freddy.

"A few days," Chica answered. "It was surprising at first, but then Helpy got me this sweet job. I can't make pizza here, but it's the next best thing. You want a burger?"

"No, thanks," said Freddy. "But hey, it's nice to see a familiar face here. I don't know what to expect here."

"You'll get used to it," Chica assured.

"Hey, I hate to pull you out in the middle of your new job, but I need you to come with me," said Freddy. "The Puppet. She wants to see us."

"Oh, no. If it's The Puppet, it must be serious," said Chica. "Don't worry. I can clear my schedule. I only have one customer today anyway. He should be coming right about..."

Cue the sound of the front door opening. Chica finishes the burger and heads outside. She holds the burger in one hand and her cupcake on the other. Freddy follows her out of the kitchen to see who just came in. It's...

"Helpy?" Freddy was surprised.

It's Helpy. This time, he's wearing his little black hat that matches his black bow tie, as well as a pair of glasses. He's holding a clipboard and a pen. He seems to be observing the establishment and writing down notes based on what he sees.

"You're right on time, Inspector," said Chica. "I have your order ready here."

"Well, lucky for you, Chica, everything seems to be good so far," Helpy assessed. "Clean floors. Hardly any grease in the corners. Orderly table arrangement. No fire hazards. I do recommend that you use a wet floor sign. We both know a certain rockstar who would hate to be here during mopping time."

"No problem," Chica agreed.

"Helpy is a health inspector?" Freddy asked, confused again. "'Cause I thought he was a deliveryman from his own company."

"Helpy has dozens of jobs. It's best not to ask. Just roll with it," Chica whispered. "He does look really cute, though. Wouldn't you agree?"

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

After passing Helpy's health inspection, Chica (and her Cupcake) joins Freddy on his quest to find the rest of their friends so they can talk to The Puppet. Along the way, Chica decides to talk about how she's been doing since she woke up from her long slumber. She sounds like she's been having a good time in whatever place this is.

"So, do you where the rest of our friends are?" asked Freddy.

"I know where Bonnie is. He's at Toy Bonnie's Music Shop," Chica answered. "I come visit for lessons on my free time. Gotta find some new hobbies, you know."

"Too bad I woke up now. If The Puppet is sending us on a life-and-death mission or something, I won't have the time to enjoy myself in here," said Freddy.

"Maybe The Puppet didn't want you to wake up until now," Chica guessed. "But I guess we'll have to wait until we talk to her to get answers."

Chica suddenly stops and turns to her left, where there's a fishing pond nearby. Fishing by the pond appears to be a Balloon-Boy-looking animatronic, only it's not Balloon Boy. This animatronic is female and her color scheme is yellow and pink. Wondering why Chica would want to see this new animatronic, he follows his friends towards the pond.

"This is Dee-Dee's Fishing Pond," Chica introduced. "And this is Dee-Dee. Dee-Dee, this is Freddy Fazbear."

"Pleasure to meet you, Mr. Fazbear," said Dee-Dee. "Are you here to try out my little minigame? There's a pearl that spawns at the very bottom with each attempt. Capture it and you'll win 100 Faz Tokens."

"No one has ever gotten the pearl first try. You think you can do it, Freddy?" Chica challenged.

"I can try," said Freddy.

Freddy gets on the little rowboat as Dee-Dee gives him her fishing rod (which has a plunger attached to where a hook is supposed to be). Freddy looks down at the pond and sees the pearl at the very bottom. Unfortunately, there are plenty of colorful fish just swimming back and forth, blocking his line's path to the pearl. Freddy understands that it's about paying attention and timing. He studies the swimming pattern, tightens his grip on the rod, and... he drops the plunger. It goes down and down and down and...

An orange angler fish accidentally blocks the line before the plunger could get the pearl.

"Darn it," Freddy cursed, bummed.

"Oh, how unfortunate," Dee-Dee mocked. "But failure is no crime, so better luck next time."

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

After collecting their 50 Faz Token prize from Dee-Dee, Freddy and Chica finally make it to Toy Bonnie's Music Shop. True to Bonnie's theme, there's a guitar on the logo of the store. Freddy and Chica go inside and see Bonnie playing guitar with Toy Bonnie. They were playing a smooth tune together. They were perfectly in sync, like true musical partners. Freddy and Chica couldn't help but move to the beat.

After the session was over, Freddy and Chica decide to give both bunnies a round of applause for their amazing talent.

"Oh, hey there, Chica," Bonnie greeted. "And you, too, Freddy. Good to see you up and about. We were worried the franchise's mascot would never wake up."

Freddy just shrugs.

"Hey, Bonnie," Chica greeted. "Sorry to interrupt your practice with Toy Bonnie, but The Puppet wants us and Foxy for a special meeting. You think you can make room?"

"For you, Chica, anything," Bonnie responded happily.

"Can I come?" asked Toy Bonnie.

"Sorry, Toy Bonnie, but it's only for us," said Freddy.

"Hey, no worries, T.B.," said Bonnie. "We'll let you know if it's worth knowing. Oh, and great job, by the way. I know it's in your programming, but you're a natural with that guitar."

"So are you, Bon-Bon," Toy Bonnie complimented.

"Uh, poor choice for a nickname," said Bonnie.

"Oh, right," Toy Bonnie realized. "Oh, hey, before you go meet The Puppet, can you pop by Balloon Boy's for a minute? He was supposed to deliver me the parts I asked for that busted-up violin in the storage room."

"No problem, partner," said Bonnie. "Okay, guys. Let's take this party outside. This ole' bunny is ready to rock."

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica decide to finish their favor for Toy Bonnie before they search for Foxy. They return to Dee-Dee's Fishing Pond, only they made a quick turn towards the two shacks just a few paces from the pond. One shack is called "BB's Parts & Services." The other shack is called "JJ's Bytes & Chips." Right now, both business owners are sorting piles of parts just a few feet from each other.

"BB, where did you get springlocks?" asked JJ.

"Just lying around," Balloon Boy answered casually.

"Didn't The Puppet ban the use of springlocks around here?" JJ reminded.

"Hey, they're rare and they make us a lot of Faz Tokens," said Balloon Boy. "It's not like I'm keeping a springlock suit or anything..."

"Ahem," Freddy fake-coughed to get their attention.

Balloon Boy hastily hides the springlocks in his hands deep within his pile and quickly turns around with an "innocent" smile on his face. JJ shakes her head, but puts on the same smile as well, as if she's got nothing to hide. Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica are not convinced, but they decided not to bother.

"Hey, BB. Toy Bonnie's still waiting for the parts you promised him," said Bonnie.

"Was it for the piano or the violin?" Balloon Boy asked, having forgotten.

"Violin," Bonnie answered. "And here's half the payment in advance. T.B. promised the other half once you make the delivery in person."

Bonnie gives Balloon Boy the 50 Faz Tokens that Toy Bonnie gave to them. Balloon Boy counts the coins to make sure it's exactly half. Bonnie looks at an imaginary watch on his wrist. Chica and her cupcake exchange looks. Freddy crosses his arms impatiently.

"48... 49... 50," Balloon Boy counted. "Did you remind Toy Bonnie that I take more than Faz Tokens as payment?"

"He thought you'd say that, so here's the other half of the first half of the payment," said Bonnie.

Bonnie gives Balloon Boy a couple of AA batteries, which came from Toy Bonnie. Balloon Boy's smile grows wider as he lets out his signature childish giggle and adds the batteries to his pile of parts.

"Well, now that that's settled, we're on our way to the music shop," said Balloon Boy.

"Which means our merchandise is off limits now," JJ added immediately. "So, please, off the premises."

"At least you asked nicely, kinda," Chica replied.

Despite feeling suspicious, Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica decide to walk away. Balloon Boy and JJ quickly take their share of the springlocks and hide them somewhere no one can find them. They share mischievous giggles as they make their way to Toy Bonnie's Music Shop.

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica leave the smaller animatronics alone and go back to searching for Foxy. It's Bonnie's turn to share his experiences in this new world. Just like Chica, Bonnie has been awake for a few days and has adjusted fairly quickly to their new environment. Most of his time is spent helping Toy Bonnie with the music shop and tutoring Chica in music, but what matters is that he looks really happy.

"Doesn't it feel good to live in harmony with the Toys?" asked Bonnie.

"I know, right? To think, we hated them," Chica remembered. "We did unite in our common goal to murder the night guard, but reluctantly. Turns out, they're not so bad at all."

"I'll take both your words for it," said Freddy. "It's too bad I only woke up now. If The Puppet is sending us on a life-and-death mission, then I won't have time to enjoy all this."

"Maybe The Puppet woke you up now for a reason," said Chica.

"Don't worry, Freddy. Once we get the band back together, you have nothing to worry about," Bonnie said optimistically.

"So, where is Foxy again?" asked Freddy.

"Toy Chica should know," said Bonnie. "She has a beauty parlor near Toy Freddy's game shop."

Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica arrive at Toy Chica's beauty parlor. The exterior design seems to be aiming to be just as beautiful as the services it provides. Lots of pink. A little bit of yellow and white. All mixed together in a rather lovely design that makes the parlor look like a mini-castle. The three step through the front door and found the parlor owner pampering herself in front of a mirror.

Toy Chica applies some kind of shining cream to every yellow inch of her face, making her face extra shiny. It was after she cleans herself that she notices she has visitors.

"And to what do I owe the pleasure?" Toy Chica started. "My, my, you three look like you need some new shells. Are you sure you're still not withered? That cupcake looks like it's been fished out of the trash."

The cupcake's eyes become angry eyes, feeling insulted.

"Okay, first of all, that wasn't very nice," said Chica.

"Jeez, I was just offering a nice makeover," said Toy Chica.

"Have you seen Foxy anywhere?" Bonnie asked quickly.

"Oh, he's at Springlock Lake building a pirate ship with Mangle," Toy Chica answered.

"Springlock Lake?" Freddy questioned the name.

"I know. The irony, huh?" Toy Chica acknowledged.

"Thank you," Freddy replied, half-annoyed. "This is where we take off."

"Ooh, when you see Foxy, tell him that if he ever needs a grooming, I can hook him up," Toy Chica said dreamily.

"Uh, sure thing...?" Bonnie responded slowly, uncomfortable.

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica arrive at Springlock Lake, where they find a place called "Mangle's Inn." Inside the inn are a bunch of pirate-related products, such as hooks, animatronic parrots... and one-eyed animatronic skulls. Moving on from that sight, the three head towards the pirate ship nearby, which is still under construction. Foxy and Mangle are working together on completing and getting it ready for sailing. Foxy is using his hook as both a hammer and a screwdriver. Mangle is crawling on the side of the ship on three legs in order to hammer in some wooden planks.

"We're halfway there," said Foxy.

"I love how it's looking, Foxy. Not even finished, but it already looks beautiful," said Mangle. "Soon, we'll be sailing through the high seas like we always wanted. We should invite some friends over."

"If they want to, that'll be splendid," said Foxy.

"Hey, Foxy!" Chica called.

Foxy turns out to see his friends Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica waving at him. Clearly, they want him to come over and talk. Plus, Freddy is awake and Foxy definitely wants to know how he's doing.

"We're gonna have to continue this another time, Mangle," said Foxy.

"Too bad. I wanted to finish this today," said Mangle. "But I'll put off construction until you come back."

"Don't worry. I'll let you know the second I'm free to build," said Foxy.

Foxy waves goodbye to Mangle as he heads towards his friends. He and Freddy hi-five, but not with their hands. Freddy uses his microphone, while Foxy uses his hook. It's been so long, but they still treat each other like friends. Not wanting to feel left out of the feeling of a happy reunion, Bonnie goes for a "guitar to hook" hi-five, while Chica goes for a simple hi-five (good thing Foxy still has one good hand). Smiles were shared in spite of the brief silence.

"Good to have you back, you old bear," said Foxy.

"Feels good to finally wake up," said Freddy.

"The band is finally back together," said Bonnie.

"Only this time, we're awake and aware," said Chica.

"So, what be our quest today?" asked Foxy.

"The Puppet. She wants to see us. I don't know what for, but it's definitely important," said Freddy.

"But we don't even know where The Puppet is," said Bonnie.

"I know," said the ghostly voice in their heads.

"Oh, it's you, Goldie," Chica said. She recognized the voice. "Your new power is cool and all, but it's scary when you use it without letting us know."

"At the very center of Fazbear Woods is a small hill. You will find The Puppet's music box on top of this very hill," Golden Freddy continued. "Head to West and you shall find our protector."

I thought it would be nice if the first chapter focuses on the reuniting of the FNaF 1 Animatronics, as well as how life is like in the world of FNaF World. It's crazy, but it's FNaF World. I did promise serious storytelling and that comes in later chapters. I'm still trying to have it both ways. To make this story both serious and fun. I didn't have to choose FNaF World as a template/foundation, but I wanted to have a clear picture of the story in my own head.

...

Notes/Explanations:

1. I may be a shipper, but even I feel somewhat apprehensive about FNaF shipping. The part where Toy Chica is clearly thinking of Foxy in a romantic way, it's just me going back to what I mentioned earlier: trying to make the characters as close to their game personalities as I can. It's part of Toy Chica's personality (in UCN, at least) to flirt with/think dreamily about everyone. (Why, Scott, why?)

2. I think Helpy is the cutest. Can you blame me?
