Chapter 1: Prologue

Disclaimer: I don't own Arrow or Flash or Arrowverse characters. This is my attempt to create an entertaining story. I know that this is pretty short introduction but summary pretty much covers it. Let me know what you think about the story.

So here we go.

It had been a couple of months after Oliver and felicity left Star city to live in Bloomfield. The peace and tranquility the area had, partly due to majority of neighbors had served in special forces, or were in organizations like A.R.G.U.S. Since the ninth circle was hot on their tails as the team foiled their plans, they chose to relocate to more safer area.

In the evening, both of them were enjoying each other's company, since most of the time they were taking care of their infant daughter. Suddenly the couple heard a creaking sound. Oliver grabbed a knife from kitchen and started walking slowly. Suddenly he moved and pointed his knife. After realising that the person was Monitor he calmed down.

Oliver asked "Now?"

The monitor merely nodded.

"I thought I had more time."

Oliver noticed Felicity wary of the monitor. "It's ok." He assured.

He was in conflict, concerned about how he would explain the deal he made with monitor to her. He set the knife on to the table then turned back to the monitor, "What bargain have I made? What does the multiverse requires?"

Felicity was confused as she tried to understand what they were talking about. It sounded like some deal had been made, but she wanted to get her facts cleared first.

Monitor answered "You assist me as we seek to prevent the inevitable."

"But that sounds impossible."

Monitor smiled "The multiverse is more complex than you can fanthom."

Oliver became more suspicious "What are you not telling me?"

"I've seen your future Oliver, I have watched you die."

"During the crisis?" Oliver inquired.

Monitor weakly nodded.

"I am truly sorry."

"No. You are not taking him." Felicity interjected strongly.

"Felicity."

"Oliver." She looked at him incredulously, wondering why would he agree to it.

Monitor replied "I am not here to harm you or your daughter. Your husband made a promise. It's time to fulfill it "

Felicity shot back "You think that I am going to let you walk with my husband's life? Not a chance. And what promise?"

Oliver knew what she was referring to. He didn't had the words he needed to explain it to her.

Oliver sighed, then explained "Our friends, Barry and Kara were supposed to die trying to save the world last year. I asked him to help me save them and in return I would help him in preparation of upcoming crisis."

Felicity now knew what had happened actually. She asked "Oliver, I understand you did what you had to, but why didn't you say it to me? Why keep this in the dark?"

"Felicity, I.."

Felicity interrupted "Oliver, I am not angry at what you did. I understand that you wanted to help our friends, I would have done the same. I am angry at the fact that you didn't tell me until now. Why? I believe we both made mistakes, both kept secrets from each other but we're married and have a baby daughter sleeping in the next room. We need to trust each other if we want to move forward in our relationship. If we can't then..."¹

Oliver got worried as he knew where this could go to and what effect this could have. His decision to not tell her was wrong, in hindsight.

"As much as I would allow you to resolve your differences, it's not the time. Oliver needs to come with me. I promise you no harm will come to you or your daughter." Monitor interjected before any of them could reply.

Oliver could see that Felicity was angry. He replied

"I'm sorry."

Before Felicity could say anything, she was interrupted by noise of Mia's cries. She looked at Oliver and left.

Oliver was sad to say at the least. Giving in, he walked up to monitor and nodded. Monitor then teleported him.

"So, where are we going?"

Monitor merely smiled "That depends on you, Oliver."

A/N: What is monitor up to? Will he suggest a new way to prepare for the crisis?I will be posting next chapter within few hours and please leave a review.

1. I intentionally added this as oliver should have come clean with felicity after events of elseworlds. My thinking behind this is I would like to know if my significant other made a decision like that. Oliver chose what he thought best. I am not against it at all.

Also in my story Oliver and felicity apologized to each other for their behaviour in season 3-7 and promised to be totally clear with each other. Although olicity in not the endgame at all.

Now this is the first chapter edited to add more details to the world created by the story.
