Chapter 1

On the ordinary bright sunny day in the peaceful church...

Washing the dishes to clean each of the kids plates, an adult man named Ragna lives with the sister for a need a place to stay, and to help the sister of the chores and taking care of the kids he rescued not too long ago. Still enjoying his daily routines as a helper and caretaker of the church, Ragna is close for being done with work so he can take a break.

"Phew... Just one more and I'm done..."

In the midst of of drying the plates clean, a small child quietly taking small steps without alerting Ragna to look back. Almost behind the kind adult, the cute little child grins as the hand now forms into a pointy finger, tip toe to reach and weakly thrusts at the silver haired man's back.

"! Huh...?" Ragna felt that stubby touch and looked back to see who it is that caused it.

For a moment behind Ragna's eyes was a quick blur that exited the kitchen.

"What was that?" Ragna asked himself.

It speaks clear that someone wants his attention, Ragna has already finished his small job and decided to investigate.

Out of the kitchen where the main hall is taking place, Ragna's red and green eyes' slowly looking his right to left to see someone hiding behind the benches or somewhere else. Finally to his left, another blur went hiding at the side of the altar.

"Hmm?" Ragna is about to confirm who is this mysterious person that is playing tricks.

"You mind as well give up. There's no point in hiding." Tension has started to spike up to see this revelation as he walking close at the side of the altar.

"Gotcha!" Ragna quickly glanced at the side and to find no one there.

"What?" Looked back and forth to see if he's not trippin over nothing. Turns out there was nobody here at all.

"...I could've sworn I saw someone here... Well, guess it must be my imagination." Sighed of relief for being worried for nothing.

Standing in front of the altar without noticing a small figure behind him who is about to pounce the guardian.

"YAH!" The child leaped behind Ragna's neck.

"Whoa! N-Nu?! Since where did you come from?!" Ragna panicked while wiggling.

"Behind you!" Nu giggled.

"N-no! That's not what I meant! How did you do go so fast?" Spinning and wiggling to get Nu off his back.

"Nu won't tell, it's a secret!" Nu laughed while having fun riding her adoptive father.

The long reach of Ragna's left arm got finally Nu from behind, holding her with one hand in front of the kind but grumpy caretaker.

The little one stretched her arms giggling while invisibly running trying to reach out to Ragna.

"You seemed pretty hyper today, Nu. I don't remember seeing you being very cheerful towards me and your sisters, you were pretty spooked for the last two days." Ragna stated, trying to think the sudden change behavior of Nu just became odd.

"Hehehe! Father, I want to do something fun today!" The silver haired girl ignored the question and eager to start something new.

"Something fun? Like what?" Ragna asked.

"Nu will tell you if you put me down." Nu smiled

Putting her down and crouched to match her small height, "Ok, you got my attention. What do you want do for today, Nu?"

The energetic child was revealed to be Nu; a little girl with unnatural pale skin, short silver hair, an eyepatch on her right red eye, and a large white t shirt that covers her entire body but her arms. Ever since Ragna rescued Nu and the others, the one eyed girl has started to grown a huge liking towards her savior.

"Nu wants to play with you." Nu mini hopped on her feet.

"Play with you?" The silver haired man's eyebrows widen in surprise that all of this attention is to play with her.

"What kind of game do you have in mind?" Ragna curiously asked.

The silver haired girl flail her arms high, "To find Nu!"

The man of Azure took some thought of what little Nu meant, "Find Nu...? Oh! You mean hide and seek?"

"Hm-Hm! Hurry! Let's play!" Nu nodded rapidly of total excitement and impatience.

"A-Alright, we'll play. You go hide and i'll count to ten. You ready?" Ragna stretched his back and chest ready to get prepared to play a simple game.

"Nu's always ready!"

"Ok then, let's get this game started. 1..." Ragna turns around with his hand covering his eyes and began counting.

With the chance to hide, Nu quickly found a particular hiding that she made sure that her adoptive father couldn't find her.

"And... TEN. Ready or not, here I come." Finished counting, it is time to find the joyful kid ad his knuckles cracked.

Looking underneath at every bench in the main hall, Ragna searched almost everywhere just to find that kid, she better not switched places as he is looking for her.

"Dangit, Nu, where are you hiding of all places...?" Ragna muttered in little frustration and still looking around the area.

Again searching the entire main place, a whole single look that made his eyes shifted back of realizing something was off; It was a certain curtain that was covered the window while the rest is open to the let sun shining through the tall glass windows. Another obvious look, is Nu's exposed feet behind the curtain, which made Ragna's easy win for the take.

Feeling embarrassed for not noticing that earlier, but at the same it looked funny from his point of view. With that in mind, Ragna smirked as he marches forward and paces back and forth in front of Nu's hiding spot.

"Oh jeez... I wonder where Nu went? Is she in the kitchen, her room, or..." Ragna playfully said to Nu - who is trying her best covering her mouth to not let a single giggle escape. With the right moment in hand...

Ragna quickly pulled the curtain sideways and found his prize, "There you are!"

Nu squealed of shock, excitement and laughter of being caught of her own game,"You found Nu!" The happy little girl ran up to her favorite parent by hugging him at the leg full of love.

Took by huge surprise that one of the kids is actually hugging him, the tall young man felt so much warmth from this loving child and glad that one of the kids is started to shown appreciation of him being a caring parent and living in a safer environment; In return, he pat her on the head and ruffling her hair.

"Um, excuse me? What were you playing?" A little girl kindly asked from behind.

Both Ragna and Nu looked at another little girl named Saya who is very similar to Nu in terms of appearance but has medium length golden hair, a pair of emerald eyes, a natural light peach skin, and wore a bright blue dress with short sleeves. Saya is less shy than her sister previously.

"We're playing find Nu!" Nu happily responded back

"Oh! That sounds fun! Can I play, too?" Saya clapped her hands together.

"Yeah!"

With Saya joining the game, the former Grim Reaper felt glad that he gets to witnessed Saya and Nu bond together as sisters starting today - has not once seen them together like this, they usually stick together while doing nothing.

As he began to play the game with the two girls...

"Okay you two, go find a place to hide and I'l- huh?" Ragna felt a tug behind his hakama pants that someone he knows wanted his attention.

"Can Lambda play?" The quiet little girl innocently asked with her eyes pleading to play with them.

Lastly of the triplet sisters, the quiet and timid Lambda; highly resembles to both Nu and Saya, Lambda's unforgettable trait is her quiet soft nature, light tone blonde short hair, healthy light tan skin, bright scarlet eyes that she and Nu shared, and currently wearing a large black t-shirt.

The father of the orphaned children cannot help but smile at the little shy girl who wants to join a friendly game of hide and seek. Ragna patted little Lambda's hair with some affection added in.

"Of course you can, Lambda."

"Yay! Now Nu and my sisters can play find Nu with father!"

"Where do we start?!" Saya now feels the same as Nu.

"Lets play." Lambda quietly said with a untrained smile.

With the triplets pleaded to play badly, Ragna tried to not force himself to chuckle to how adorable they look when asking him to play.

"Hurry! Don't let father find us!" Saya

"Round 2." The former Grim Reaper cracked his neck to start a big challenge.

Knowing that the girls are hiding somewhere in the church will take some time to find them, but that doesn't mean that Ragna will simply give up in a childish game of 'Finding Nu and her sisters'. No, his main-mindset is to find them and crown champion of hide and seek.

As Ragna took a step to continue searching, a quick corner of his emerald eye managed to spot a certain child. He glanced at the source, someone ducked quickly to not get seen by the silver haired adult.

With the last kid that he nearly forgot and never seen that often, "Jin?"

"Yes, father?" A blonde boy named Jin came out from his hiding spot between the benches.

The LAST child and the only boy, Jin, the older brother of the three sisters. Sharing the same hair, eyes, and skin to Saya; wearing a dark blue t shirt and black shorts. Comparing the shyness between Saya and Lambda; Jin is far below them in terms of socializing, eye contact, and cooperative. Never helped anybody but to heavily rely on Ragna doing most of the work in the church and currently playing with the girls - a feeling of envy towards his foster parent that he wished to be, and to spend his time with someone he can play and talk with.

"What are you doing here?" Ragna asked the little boy.

"U-Um, nothing..." The little boy couldn't find an excuse to cover.

The blonde boy quickly glanced at his adoptive father's mismatched eyes and looked away of making eye contact.

"Ok..." Jin spoke, having the courage to speak the truth, "I-I heard my sister wanting to play with you, so I thought I-I could... N-Never mind, I go to my room and..."

"Jin." Ragna sternly said

Jin froze in fear of the tone of his voice.

Ragna takes a knee to match Jin's height, "Jin, what made you think that I would say no?"

"...C-Cause I don't be a bothersome to you and my sisters." The shy boy looked down with no eye contact admitting his dark truth - only wanted to spend his time alone with his adoptive parent.

Jin felt a tight grip on his shoulder, thinking to get himself yelled at for saying something bad, "No, Jin. You're NOT a bothersome. I WILL never think you as a bothersome. I Know your sisters don't think of you like that. Your hear me? NEVER."

A unknown warmth has sparked inside Jin's heart and wasn't sure what it is, "...Really?"

"Yeah. In fact, I really can't do this all by myself, that is why I need your help." Ragna admitted and encouraging Jin.

"...Help? Like what?" Jin asked, wanting to know.

"To show your sisters to looked up to..." Ragna added, "As an older brother."

"H-How can I do that?" Jin shyly asked.

Ragna smiled back at him, "Easy. Be like me, be there for them, play with them, spend time with them. Like I'm playing right now because THEY asked me to, you should do the same. Ask me and ask them." Ragna continued, "What happens if I'm gone?"

"...I-I should be there for them." Jin answered.

"Exactly." Ragna stated. "...I really want you to be happy with your sisters, you know. I don't want you being sad all alone while your sisters are having fun."

Jin's in total awe of absorbing his foster father's kind words of advice, he slowly smiled of unexplained happiness.

So, what do you say? Want to play 'Find Nu'?" Ragna asked.

Who wouldn't want to say no to that, "Yeah!"

"Good. But promise you do that. There's no reason to be shy with me and your little sisters any more. If you do that, I'll take you to a fishing trip." Ragna stated.

"R-Really?!" Jin couldn't believe what he heard.

"Yep. And I promise you that." Ragna smiled at Jin's reaction.

Jin instantly hugged his caring adoptive father for having a sudden change in his heart and will try everything that Ragna has told him to do. His shyness has dramatically flushed away of being able to talk to him and be there for him.

Of course Ragna hugged him back of being able to talk with Jin and changed what he is from being a scared boy to a more confident older brother Jin.

"C'mon, Let's find your sisters. We don't want to make them wait. " The red and green eyed man released the hug with the little boy as they ran to find the little girls in their way.

Ragna and Jin's bond has started to grow...

"Nu! Saya! Lambda! Jin is joining us! So you better be prepared!" Ragna yelled loud enough so the girls could potentially hear.

With Ragna and Jin separated to find Lambda, Saya, and Nu; Ragna is currently in the kitchen to find any possible hiding spots that could be can be found in a cinch that no kids will find a complicated hiding area. Looking around the cabinets, the pantry, the closet, and small cabinets. With one that still remains and never checked...

A quick guess, he found a potential hiding spot - under the table with the cloth that is masking underneath it.

"Hope I'm right about this..."

He quickly lift the cloth up and found a quiet blonde girl who looked to her side.

"You found me." Lambda said, showing no shock of reaction and still couldn't smile fully.

The older brother of the triplets is currently searching their shared room looking for any of his siblings hiding; Checked the closet, checked almost everywhere, but one remains - the bed.

Jin's first initial thought of the bed, is to see who's under it.

With a small grin on his face, the older brother made his way to the bed slowly...

Jin quickly prone, "Boo!"

"Kyah!" Saya shrieked, admitted her defeat with a smile, "Aw, I lost."

The blonde siblings smiled upon each other as Jin helped his little sister up to continue the game.

Back to Ragna and Lambda, working as a team searching for Nu separately in different locations while finding possible hiding spots. Lambda is currently checking the bathroom, Ragna's at the cozy living room with books, and the kids' favorite spot, the chimney.

Looked behind every chairs, books to see if Nu snuck herself inside the shelf, and lastly about to check the chimney that made Ragna fret in sweat.

"Nu. You better not be in there..." The adult parent made it front of the chimney and prepared to look.

Ragna ducked himself under the chimney that smells heavily of burnt wood overwhelming his nose while trying not to sneeze, "Nu! You there!"

It reply in silence, "..."

"Great. She's not in her-Ah-Ah! ACHOO!" The sneeze spread the ashes like a smoke bomb.

Little Lambda jogging in the hall with the rooms connected like her siblings' room, the bathroom, and reached her destination - The closet.

With a gut feeling that her twin is in the closet, Lambda's hand tries to reach the door knob despite being tippy-toe, now tries to hop as best as she can after many attempts but became futile.

"Hi, sis!" Saya called out, Jin and Saya ran towards their little sister, "Whatcha you doin?"

With Lambda's shy nature of response, she pointed the door.

"Is Nu in there?" Saya guessed.

Lambda shrugged in response.

With Jin's kind help, his hand reach the door knob, ready to be open to hopefully find their sibling.

"Ready?" Jin asked, both Saya and Lambda nodded.

Jin quickly opened the door, "Boo!" Jin and Saya imitated together with their arms raised up and Lambda did the same except shouting.

"AH!" Nu screamed, then shifts of being glad, "Wow! You found Nu!"

"Yay! We found Nu! We won the game!" Saya ecstatically jumped alongside Jin, Lambda, and Nu in total victory.

"Father! We found Nu!" Jin happily shouted.

Ragna stepped out of the bathroom while washing his ashy face, "You did? We'll that's great! Now we can sto-" Ragna said with a small smile, congratulating the kids.

"Let's play again!" Nu unexpectedly interrupted, never wanted to stop playing a fun game.

"Huh?" The Black Beast holder raised his eyebrows.

"Count and find us!" Nu ran to find another hidden area to find.

"Hurry, Let's hide!" Jin ran with his sisters, then left completely.

Ragna stood still doing nothing, "*SIGH* These kids..." Not wanting the kids to disappoint, he decided to play again.

As time passed of playing another round of 'Finding Nu, Lambda, Saya, and Jin', Ragna successfully found the kids in various areas in the church that involves finding them in the bathroom, the guest room - Ragna's room, the kids' closet, and the kitchen cabinet. Didn't even thought it would be THIS easy for finding them in such obvious spots.

Now with the foster family regrouped at the main hall, Ragna is taking a small break, "...Ok, kids, do you want play one more or play a different game?"

"Aw. I want to keep on playing." Saya whined.

"Yeah!" Jin agreed on Saya's point, Lambda nodded.

The silver haired man knew this would happen, instead he'll stay and play with them as long as they like, "Alright, alright. No need to get sad here, I'll still play. Ready for round 3?"

Nu started giggling while trying not to be loud, "Kekehehehe."

Ragna noticed, "Um, Nu, is something funny?"

Nu stopped giggling herself, "Let's not play find Nu!"

Her siblings instantly looked at her with shocked faces, even Ragna is not surprised by this. "Ok. What game do you want to play?"

Nu excitedly revealed the next game with her arms flailing high, "Let's play Find Father!"

The man went full silence of dumbstruck to the core, and the kids are glad to hear that they can still play hide and seek.

"Wow! That's sounds way funner!" Saya's amazed of the new game.

"What are we waiting for?! Let's play!" Jin couldn't wait any longer.

"Let's play." Lambda is still waiting to start.

"WHAT? That's still hide and seek but me! How's that different than the last one?! C'mon let's play a different-" Baffled of what the kids are agreeing on.

"Hide, Father, hide!" Nu told her foster parent to hide as she's closing her eyes to count down for ten seconds.

"1...!" Nu started.

"Wait, hold on!" Ragna tried to interrupt.

"2...!" Saya added.

"L-Listen!" Ragna tried again.

"3...!" Jin added.

"K-Kids!" Ragna pleaded.

"4..." Lambda added.

"Oh Fine...!" Ragna continued himself to play again.

Stopping them will do no good, Ragna has no choice but to play a new game involving him hiding and waiting to get caught, IF he finds a good hiding spot. He ran to the hall, in the midst of it, deciding which room to hide with anxiety by the kids that is almost reaching to ten - Didn't like the feeling of being chased by those little munchkins.

Didn't think this through, he ran to the room that they never explored - The Sister's room.

First time being in her room, the room itself is roughly similar to Ragna's but more open space. Now's not the time to take a quick tour around the basic room, he instantly went to the closet for couldn't think long enough to hide.

In the dark closet with only the light showing on the bottom, Ragna lets out a big air escaping his chest as he sits down waiting to get found.

"Finally. Some rest..." The foster parent smiled.

The calmness surrounding him took a huge effect on him, needed it

"Nu will find you, Father! Just wait for me!" Nu sprinted through the hall, Ragna heard that faintly through the wall that already gives him goosebumps.

"Oh god..." Never wanted himself to get caught by her. "I hope she doesn't..."

After several minutes hiding in the Sister's dark closet, the tall adult grinned mischievously of making the game difficult for the kids, "Ha! I knew it. These kids have no idea where I'm at right now. Which makes me the king of hide and seek."

The main door opens with a creak, giving Ragna a slight scare and a high chance of losing the game. "Oh no..."

The footsteps coming closer...

"Please don't find me, please don't find me..." Ragna repeatedly prayed.

With the shadow overpowering the light, opening it to reveal the founder and winner...

In a split second, "Yep. Some king of hide and seek you are..." Ragna muttered in defeat.

The light shines on the mysterious person...

"GAH!" The Sister screamed of a sudden surprise that her lover is in her closet, and dropped her basket filled with clean clothes and extra sheets.

The nun and Ragna shared an awkward stare, Ragna spoke first, "...Hi."

The Sister, A.K.A Celica A. Mercury, puts her hands on her hips, "Ragna. What are you doing in my closet like a weirdo?" The Sister demanded.

"...Uh, I can explain." The silvered hair man couldn't think straight from that attitude of hers.

"Then say it." The foster mother waited for the answer.

Gets up from the floor, "I was playing hide and seek with-"

"Sister! Yay! You found Father!" An excited Nu squeaked.

Both adults glanced back to see Nu and the rest of the kids that is standing in front the door smiling - except Lambda.

"Sister? Are you playing with us?" Saya asked.

"How did you find Father? We've been looking everywhere." Jin said.

"..." Lambda nodded of wanting to know too.

"Wait. I don't quite follow..." The nun became confused of what the children were talking about.

The man grinned of having the BEST idea ever, "Well then. If that's the case..."

"Huh?" The Sister is even more confused.

"It is YOU, who have to find us!" The adult man swiftly passed by the Sister and the kids.

The kids got the right mind set of their foster father meant and went along with him to play some more.

"Hurry! Don't let Sister find us!" Nu yelled

"This is so much fun!" Saya yelled as well.

"Be sure to count to ten, 'Sister'!" Ragna has started to have fun now.

All the kids laugh has started fading while running with Ragna to find the best hiding spot ever so all of them can be together and never be found.

With Celica standing there while still thinking, "...Um... Oh! They're playing hide and seek. And they want me to play? Oh dear..."

In that final game, it took her the whole day to find them around the church while being very slow that it turns dark.

She somehow managed to find them in the basement as she enamored the sight with the moon glowing through the small window of the kids peacefully sleeping with Ragna; Nu is on top of Ragna's chest drooling, Lambda being close to his face, Jin and Saya quietly snoring in Ragna's arms.

Celica came back with a large blanket that covers them warmly to have a good night sleep.

It was a fun day of playing hide and seek...

As you guys can see... This is my first BlazBlue fanfic and the story I really want to write. It was inspired by the fanarts i checked online that involves Ragna being with Nu, Saya, Lambda, and Jin as kids. Yeah, what would happen if Bloodedge came back from his disappearance, lives with Celica in the church and raise the kids (Origin of story of the story coming soon) That always been stuck in my head and begged myself to write a fluff one-shot.

As a writer, I took a two year hiatus from FanFic due of my motivation and progress as a writer. So there's a sign I can continue.

Please by all means, I am a bad writer so i gave you permission to criticize my story, writing and fix it with the errors I've done.

So what to do think of the one-shot? There will be more one-shots coming which I cannot promise of making more if it depends on my motivation. If there's any one-shots you have thought of, let me know in the review so i might considerate.
