A/N: This takes place after He Needed to Know. It's been forever since I've written any kind of fanfiction but I felt like getting a little something out. I'm not sure if I will add more or not. But yeah, here it is.

Thanks.

Eli stepped into her apartment, looking her over. The bruise on her face had him wincing, this wasn't the first time he'd seen a bruise on Veronica's face. He couldn't explain why he did it; maybe it was because he was imagining all the horrible things that might have happened to her; or maybe it was due to the look of vulnerability on her face. Something had Weevil opening his arms for her. "Are you okay?"

"I've been better." Veronica admitted and Weevil had to resist the urge to tighten his grip on her, so that he didn't end up hurting her. "You scared the shit out of me, when I heard the news…" He'd been worried, not that he really wanted to spend time thinking about why he cared so much about Veronica Mars. He'd let his thoughts go in several different directions and the only reason he hadn't thought she was in worse condition was because the news had said very little about her.

Letting go, Weevil took a step back looking her over once more. "Do you need anything?" He asked stuffing his hands into his pocket's, so he didn't reach out to hold her again. "Actually? Yeah, you think you could keep Logan away from me at school tomorrow. I just, I don't want to talk to him right now." Veronica murmured, which had Weevil nodding his head. "Done. But are you sure you don't want to take another day or two to recover?"

"No, the longer I stay at home the worse my brain wonders…" And they both knew that her being stir crazy was a terrible idea. "Okay, then consider me your personal shadow. I will make sure that Logan Echolls doesn't get the chance to talk to you." He promised, Weevil would make sure he kept his promise, even if it meant getting the other guys involved.

"Thank you." Weevil nodded his head as he nodded at the door. "I'm glad you're okay." There was a ring of honesty in his voice and the way his hands stayed in his pockets to stop him from reaching for her again. "The Sheriff is doing okay as well?" He had to ask, and figured since she was home and not at the hospital the answer was going to be yes. "He's a tough guy, he'll be home in a couple of days."

Weevil nodded. "Good. If you need anything, you've got my number." He stated as he reached for the door. "Get some rest V, I'll see you tomorrow."

The Following Day

Weevil was waiting in the parking lot on his bike with the guys around him, when Veronica arrived at the school. Doing his best to look like he wasn't following the blonde he got off the bike and headed towards the school, the guys had their order. Let him know if Echolls was headed towards Veronica so that he could intervene.

She managed to get through her morning classes before Weevil had to step in. "Come on Veronica just talk to me." Logan called out as Veronica continued down the hall, Weevil pushed himself off the wall falling into step with the O9'er. "She's not interested, seems to be a theme." This wasn't the first time he'd stepped in like this for her. "This doesn't involve you." Echoll hissed, glaring at him as Weevil's guys seemed to fall instep with Veronica, allowing her to disappear in the crowd of other people. "I have a sense of deja vu." Weevil stated.

"Back off."

"See I can't do that. Veronica doesn't want to talk to you so leave her alone." Weevil got into Logan's space, making sure he knew that he wasn't going to let him just do whatever he wanted. Veronica wanted him away from her and he would make sure that happened.

"Since when does she need you to do her dirty work?" Logan was obviously mad, and for a moment Weevil wasn't sure he'd back down. "Since she's decided you're to stupid to take the hint she's already given you." Which they both knew she'd done, seeing as Logan visibly deflated. "You can't be around all the time." Logan stated before turning away from him and heading in the opposite direction, and really that was a challenge he was willing to accept.

Which is why he made sure to be where she was as often as he could be, and if it wasn't Weevil it was one of the PCHer's.

The final bell for the day rang and Weevil waited near Veronica's locker. "Hey." This was the first time he'd talked to her today, even though he'd been around her in some way most of the day. "Hey." She replied as he rested his back against the locker beside hers watching as she stuffed her books into her bag. "How'd today go?" He asked looking at her.

"Not bad, thank you...for you know." He nodded his head, there was no need for her to go into detail. "No problem, you ready to go?" Weevil knew that Echolls would wait around in the parking lot if he thought he would have the chance to meet up with Veronica and Weevil was going to make sure he didn't get that chance. "Yeah, you plan to escort me out?" She asked the first bit of amusement creeping into her tone.

"Yeah, a favour was called in. Those are serious around here." He stated, with a half smile as he led the way. When they reached her car in the parking lot he waited till she was safely inside before turning away. "Hey Weev's?" Her voice called out, making him turn his head to look at her. "Yeah?"

"See you tomorrow?" Her question had him nodded once again. "You just can't get enough of me can you?" The lighthearted banter had her smiling and shaking her head as she started rolling up the window. "Bye Weevil." Was all she said before pulling out of the parking lot.
