Hey guys, Gamer here and this is the final chapter of Her Pain, Your Sorrow. This was just something light and fluffy that I wanted to write since Lucy is one of my favorite characters. I also feel as though she is very underrated in the show in terms of strength and her background was deemed trivial compared to her teammates. I for one feel as though Lucy's childhood was really really shitty and she endured such neglect for many years. But, enough of my rambling and on with the chapter.
Natsu had woken up due to someone hitting his shoulder. When he looked behind him, he saw that it was Loke. Natsu realized that it was still night outside, more than likely the early hours of the morning. Loke pressed a finger to his lips signaling for Natsu to be quiet as he led him to the kitchen.
Once there, Loke started to tell him about the plans that were set for the day. Natsu tried to fight back a smile as he nodded at Loke before the spirit went home. He went back into bed with Lucy and wrapped his arms around her, kissing her head.
Lucy woke up to extreme heat on her back. She tried to move away from it, but strong arms prevented her from doing so. She tried to turn around to see what was happening, but was only met with a bush of pink hair.
'Natsu.'
The memories of last night caused Lucy's face to burn a bright red.
'You're so beautiful.'
He whispered to her over and over again.
'I'll always protect you.'
He whispered assurances throughout their night of passion. It was unlike anything Lucy had ever felt.
She felt… desired.
She felt… loved.
She felt… oh so hot!
"Natsu." She growled out. Both of his arms wrapped around her from underneath. One of them was around her shoulders and the other around her lower stomach. "Natsu." She said louder. This time she got him to mumble before bringing her body even closer to his.
"Lucy." He mumbled in his sleep. His lips pressed against her neck.
"Natsu!" She yelled and this time he bolted upright, immediately looking around.
"What's wrong?" He asked her.
"You were trying to burn me alive, that's what's wrong." Lucy said and watched as Natsu stood up and stretched, wearing nothing but his boxers.
"Sorry about that." He smiled before he leaned over to press his lips to hers. She smiled into the kiss and brought her hand up to cup his cheek.
"I need to take a bath." She sighed once they separated. She threw the sheets off of her and was about to stand up.
"I wouldn't try to walk if I were you." Natsu warned her with a smirk that made her knees weak.
"And why not?" She raised an eyebrow at him. He held his hands up in defense and indicated for her to continue.
Just as her feet hit the floor and she placed her body weight on them, she nearly trampled over Natsu who gripped her arms before she fell.
"What the hell?" She looked up at him and he threw his head back in laughter.
"I knew your body would still be exhausted from last night." He winked at her when she shivered, the memories of the way he worshipped her body came flooding in.
"How am I supposed to take a bath now?" She asked herself aloud.
"Yay! I get to bathe with Luce!" Natsu's boyish grin and antics were back in an instant.
"No way! Not happening!" Lucy refused and let out a squeak when Natsu picked her up bridal style. "Don't you understand what no means?" She thrashed around in his arms.
"No means yes in my book." He smiled and made his way to the bathroom.
"Well then yes!" She still tried to escape.
"That also means yes." He gave her one last grin before closing the door to the bathroom with both of them inside.
"Is everything set for when they arrive?" Loke looked around the guild hall, once again running a hand through his hair. After he, Erza and Gray told the guild about what had happened yesterday, everyone had been devastated.
No one knew that she had to break Aquarius. No one even suspected it.
Erza and Gray then went on to tell them about what happened with Yami. Loke had said that he would accept full blame if Lucy got mad, though he doubted that she would.
"For someone who was willing to destroy the guild to get her back, he was seriously a fucked up father." Laxus had been one of the first to growl out.
Gajeel came shortly after.
"Ain't no one deserve to be treated that way by family."
Levy couldn't stop herself from crying.
"Why wouldn't Lu-chan tell any of us?"
Bixlow surprisingly complimented her.
"She knew she might've died, yet she still took that chance just to save us? Cosplay's got a serious spirit."
Cana had been one of the people to suggest that they throw a party.
"Ain't no way in hell we're letting her come back without throwing her a party."
So that's how everything started. Master had agreed to give a speech to commemorate all of the fallen from the war.
"I smell them coming." Wendy said as everyone got into position.
"I still don't understand why you had to blindfold me you moron." Lucy huffed when the guild doors opened. Everyone inside stayed completely silent, trying to hold back their laughter.
"Just stay right here Luce." Natsu said before dashing off to someone in the room and then came back to rest his hands on her shoulders.
"Can I take this off now?" She whined.
"I'll do it for you." Natsu untied the knot that held Lucy's blindfold over her eyes and let it fall to the floor in front of her.
"Surprise!" Everyone in the guild shouted and looked at the blonde.
"What...what is this?" She looked around at everyone.
Blue.
"Your hair." She whispered.
Blue.
Everyone's hair was…blue! And not just any blue.
"Aquarius." The name of her spirit was enough to break the dam holding the floodgates in check. Lucy let the hot tears fall down her face. She turned around to Natsu.
Teams Shadowgear and Thunder Legion had blue hair.
"Everyone's hair is the same blue as Aquarius'." She cried and looked at Natsu's now blue hair. "How did the rest of you find out?" Gray and Erza approached her as well.
The Strauss siblings and Conell family had blue hair. (Alzack, Bisca and Asuka)
"The priestess we fought yesterday made us see your most sorrowful memories and feel the same emotions and pain that you did." Erza briefly explained.
Erza, Gray, Gajeel, Levy, Juvia, Wendy, and Romeo all had blue hair.
"Your hair is blue." Lucy couldn't stop herself from saying it. Erza's red locks were now a light, sky blue.
Max, Reedus, Nab, Laki, Kinana, Macao, Wakaba, Vijeeter, Warren...
"We all have blue hair today." Gray gave her a small smile as he played with one of the ends of his sky blue hair.
"Lucy." Loke stepped forward. The first thing that she noticed was his previous orange mane, now blue. "This was my idea. If there's anyone to be angry at, it's me."
"I'm not angry. It's just...just…" She wasn't able to finish her thoughts before she broke down in tears. Natsu was able to hold her just in time before she fell to her knees.
Some of the more soft hearted members couldn't help but wipe a tear. They let their blonde mage cry and cry until it was reduced to sniffles.
"That's not all Lucy." Loke took her hand and led her to the center of the guild where he specifically asked for no one to stand. He went back to the celestial spirit world and came back not a minute later. The light around him was so bright that everyone had to shield their eyes.
When it faded, Lucy's eyes filled with tears once more.
Behind Loke stood the other gates of the zodiac that Lucy owned.
"I asked the King to lend his power to summon us all here. We each wanted to show our gratitude for you being our master, Princess." Loke started with a wink at his princess comment.
"It was actually Cancer's idea to change everyone's hair blue." Virgo informed her. Even Cancer himself turned his hair blue. Virgo and Aries got theirs done. Gemini was turned two shades lighter to match the colour. Cancer added a sky blue mohawk to the top of Taurus' head. Sagittarius' little tuft of hair turned blue and Capricorn's fur between his horns were dyed. Scorpio's red and white hair was changed to match his girlfriend's.
"You guys." Lucy started tearing up again.
Scorpio approached Lucy first. "None of us blame you for breaking her key, Lady Lucy. In fact, we think that was the bravest thing any of our masters had ever done." With that being said, he dropped to one knee in front of her and bowed his head. Loke and Virgo mimicked his movements behind him, the former to his left and the latter to his right.
Following them was Aries and Capricorn.
Then Gemini and Taurus.
And lastly was Sagittarius and Cancer.
Lucy dropped to her knees with them and wrapped her arms around Scorpio's neck. "I'm so sorry." She cried.
"C'mon now Lady Lucy, you know cryin' ain't wicked." Scorpio tried to comfort her when he wrapped his arms around her as well.
"I can't help it." She said when they all stood up.
"I think it's time for you to join us too Lucy." Cana slightly slurred from her place on one of the bar tables. "While I personally dig the new look," She flipped her blue hair over her shoulder. "It's your turn now."
Lucy laughed as Cancer approached her.
"Any specific style Ebi?" He asked her.
"Anything you like, Cancer." She smiled and felt his magic style her hair. When he was done, Lucy's light blue hair now touched her waist and had light curls at the end.
"Atta girl." Cana winked and took another swing of beer.
"Not to ruin the moment or anything, but why are those two here?" Laxus asked and nodded his head over to Sting and Rogue who happened to be sitting at another table, both with blue hair.
"I invited them." Master made his appearance as he stood on the stage that was in the guild, also with light blue hair. "That brings us to the next segment of today's celebration. Today, November 24th of the year X791, will be known as 'The Day of The Fallen'. It will now be a Fairy Tail tradition to remember the sacrifices that were made during the war of Tartarus. You may showcase the paintings Reedus." Makarov paused and allowed the picto mage to reveal his art.
Exactly five large papers rolled from the ceiling and stopped about halfway to the floor.
"No way." Gajeel muttered as he looked at the paintings.
"Oh my Mavis." Wendy covered her mouth with her hands.
"They can't be serious." Sting and Rogue said at the exact same time as the other.
"Igneel…" Natsu stared, wide eyed.
Hung on the walls were detailed paintings of the dragons that destroyed all the Faces.
Igneel.
Metallicana.
Grandeeny.
Weisslogia.
Skiadrum.
Their names were respectively written underneath each painting. Reedus' memories of the dragons were downright amazing.
"The guild tradition states that every year on this day, these paintings will be hung up in memory of the dragons. And every guild member present will dye their hair blue, in memory of Aquarius' sacrifice." The guild erupted into cheers as the party had begun.
A party to celebrate and mourn those that were lost.
Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Erza, Juvia, Gajeel, Levy, Cana, Mirajane and (surprisingly) Laxus decided to pile into Lucy's room for an after party of sorts.
As soon as they got inside, Levy immediately flung herself at Lucy.
"How could you not tell us Lu-chan?" She cried.
"I had it handled Levy, and I didn't know how to bring that up in conversation." Lucy tried to comfort her.
"Alright Shrimp, let Bunny Girl breathe would ya?" Gajeel practically had to pry Levy off of Lucy, only for Juvia to latch on in her place.
"Juvia is upset that Lucy didn't come to us." Juvia was on the verge of tears. "The way Gray-sama and Erza described everything seemed excruciating."
"My back still hurts from that Tenrou memory." Gray winced and rubbed his back.
"Okay so, no offense Lucy, just to…voice my opinion, I'll say your dad's an ass." Laxus spoke up and Mirajane hit his chest.
"Seriously Laxus?" She scolded him.
"No Mira, it's okay." Lucy managed to smile. "I take no offense whatsoever."
"I'm with Laxus on that one. Your dad's a dick. I'd beat him if he wasn't already six feet under." Gajeel raised his nose in the air.
"Is that Gajeel trying to be nice?" Cana smirked and everyone burst into laughter at his slightly pink cheeks.
"I honestly appreciate it guys." Lucy managed to say after laughing.
"But I have a question for you Lucy." Wendy joined the conversation. "Has any other celestial wizard summoned the King before?"
"I was curious about that too. I asked Grandpa Crux and he said that I would've been the first to have ever done it. There are only a select few wizards that have opened three zodiacs at once, and that's one of the criteria."
"Speaking of, that was still extremely reckless of you Lucy." Erza scowled. "You knew that doing that could've killed you yet you did it anyway."
"In my opinion, that sounds more badass than reckless to me." Gray interjected.
And that's how an all out war started between the Fairy Tail mages. Gray, Gajeel, Laxus and Cana, had agreed that Lucy's determination was strictly badass. Erza, Juvia, Levy and Mirajane had complained that it was strictly reckless.
Natsu surprisingly stayed quiet through that debate.
After Lucy had finally managed to usher out all of her friends out the door, she turned back around to face Natsu. He walked up to her and wrapped his arms around her waist.
"I ever tell you you're beautiful?" He kissed her lips.
"Yes you have." She wrapped her arms around his neck to bring his lips down to hers once more.
"I promise I'll always protect you." He whispered through the kiss.
"I'm not a damsel in distress." She held his cheeks to look him in his jet black eyes. "Sometimes, the princess can protect her dragon."
"I'm sorry I wasn't there before." He let a tear slip from his eye.
"Then promise me something else instead. Promise me that you won't ever leave my side." She brushed the stray tear away from his cheek.
"Never." He brought his lips down to hers again to seal the deal.
They pressed their foreheads together when they separated for air.
They let their tears fall freely as small smiles glued themselves on their faces.
No longer will she suffer in silence.
No longer will she cry alone.
No longer will she need to perfect a fake smile for everyone's sake.
No longer will she make the mistake of holding her feelings in.
No longer will she let her pain be her friends' sorrow.
