Part 1; Chapter 1

Harry Potter was sitting in his room reading a book on dueling, he managed to convince Vernon to take him to the Leaky Cauldron before going home so he went to Diagon Alley and bought a few books that he thought would help him.

Currently, it was a few hours after the Dursleys went to sleep and he was still trying to absorb as much of the book as he could and when he noticed a streetlight go out, another went out, and then another. Harry looked up and down the street through his window, which was open enough to hear things that were outside. All the lights leading up to the Dursley's were put out too. His instincts were screaming at him that something was wrong. He forced himself to calm down and think rationally, he crept across his room and shut his light off. It would make it look like he was going to sleep when really he was looking out of his window, observing the surrounding area, seeing and remaining unseen. The nearest streetlight went out and his wand was immediately in his hand.

"What the fuck are you doing? Get the damn cloak back on!" He heard someone say loudly. Harry looked in that general direction to see who was there. He saw three legs and a hand, the hand was gripping something that he couldn't see and the limbs quickly disappeared. The only thing that would make that happen was an invisibility cloak. Harry rushed over to his trunk and grabbed his own invisibility cloak, he fastened it around his neck and put the hood on, covering his whole body and rendering him invisible. He strained to hear anything else from the other invisible people.

"Everyone else should be here within ten minutes. Our lord will be showing up later, he wants to kill the boy after we see if everything is secure." One of them said in a hushed voice. Harry was thinking quickly about what he could do. A minute later it was decided. Harry went downstairs, out the back door and around to the front. He listened to their whispers to locate them, they were about 10 feet in front of him. Harry readied his wand.

"Accio invisibility cloak," Harry whispered and the cloak was pulled off the two trespassers, who shouted in confusion.

Harry quickly sent two disarming charms, a water conjuration spell, and a freezing spell. The Death Eaters fell to the ground frozen with a sheen of ice over them. Harry put the invisibility cloak back on them.

Harry was waiting for five minutes when an owl came swooping down and dropped a letter in front of him, assuming it was the notice telling him he used magic underage and that ministry official will come by soon, exactly what Harry wanted. If he keeps performing magic then the Ministry would send someone, especially if it was destructive. Not two minutes later three people apparated onto the street in front of Harry, three more followed just a second after, all were wearing Death Eater garb but the first three didn't wear masks, two of them looked like brothers and the last one who was in the middle was Lucius Malfoy. Harry smiled at the thought of what he was about to do to Draco's dad, hopefully sending him to St. Mungos or Azkaban.

"Confringo" Harry shouted. The curse shot towards the group of Death Eaters, the unmasked Death Eaters dove out of the way but the explosion still caught them and they were thrown a couple of feet. As for the other three, the curse hit them head-on and their bodies were ripped apart, limbs went flying and blood was everywhere. Harry stood shocked at what he just did, the destruction he caused.

He just killed three people. He could barely believe it.

"Avada Kedavra" A jest of sickly green light flew by him, frightening him out of his thoughts. Then a blasting curse hit ten feet away from him, sending him off his feet, making his cloak get pulled slightly over his head. He hastily took the cloak off because it would just get in the way now and then he cast another water conjuring spell to distract the last three Death Eaters and give him time to set himself right.

"Expulso!" Harry said after standing up quickly. The spell shot toward the group of three and slammed into one of the brothers' chests with an audible crack. Two spells were sent towards him immediately after, he hastily raised a shield but the first spell broke it, sending Harry staggering and the second one hit him in his left arm breaking it. Harry screamed out in pain and fell over, he sent out a massive flash of light and scrambled behind Uncle Vernon's car, cradling his left arm. The cracking sound of someone apparating into the area was heard by Harry and the Death Eaters. The two Aurors were standing at the front door and saw Harry hiding behind the car. They were about to ask him what he was doing when a spell flew by them and ripped the door off its hinges, they immediately raced to get behind the car with Harry.

"One of you get out of here and tell the ministry that Death Eaters are attacking Harry Potter. Go! Now!" Harry said. An exploding cure flew by and went through the front doorway, the back part of the house crumbled with a loud explosion, leaving the other half teetering without support. One of the Aurors looked at the half-house that was quickly catching on fire and disapparated and the other nodded at Harry and stood up and started casting, with Harry right behind him. The Auror started casting stunning spells, Harry was casting spells that would distract and make the Death Eaters uncomfortable while saving some of his energy. A killing curse was sent their way and Harry ducked but the car again but Auror raised a shield and the curse hit him, sending him twisting in the air into the brick wall of the house. Harry looked into the lifeless eyes of the Auror and heard the laughter of Lucius and the other man. He grew angry and more determined than before. He moved to the other side of the car, stood up, and quickly pointed his wand.

"Reducto!" Harry sent the spell flying at the Death Eater standing beside Malfoy. It zoomed past Malfoy and hit the other Death Eater, disintegrating him. Lucius sent a stunner but Harry blocked it and sent one back. Lucius redirected it back at him and sent another spell at him. Harry only had time to raise a hasty, weak shield to block the stunner. The stunner broke his shield and he was hit with the second curse, a gash appearing diagonally from his right hip across his chest making him stumble back. Another spell hit him, breaking a few ribs and sending him through the open doorway into the Dursley's. Suddenly the street was filled with the sound of apparition, Voldemort and a few Death Eaters came at the same time as a squad of Aurors and a battle broke out after a moment of surprise from both sides, the noise of the battle waking every person in the neighborhood up if they weren't already woken.

"Did you actually believe, or were truly stupid enough to think, that you stood a chance against us?" Lucius Malfoy said, ignoring the battle going on outside, as he was walking slowly toward him, raising his wand. "Crucio!"

Harry screamed out in agony as soon as the crimson spell hit him. The pain was so intense, so all-consuming, that he no longer knew where he was... white-hot knives were piercing every inch of his skin, his head was surely going to burst with pain. The pain stopped and Harry stood up with a struggle.

"You are the last one of your little group Malfoy, it's a pity you aren't amongst the dead. Although, you seem to be the most incompetent Death Eater so you still being alive may be a blessing in disguise." Harry said with a pained grin. Lucius raised his wand.

"Now don't be too hasty Lucius." An amused voice hissed. "You know who gets to kill the boy." Voldemort slowly formed out of black smoke until he was standing beside Lucius.

"Of Course, My Lord," Lucius said with a bow and slowly moved out of the way.

"Prepare to die, Harry Potter" Voldemort said with a satisfied glint in his eyes, lifting his wand. Harry stood straight and looked him in the eyes. His defiance seemed to make Voldemort mad because he drew his wand back and thrust it towards Harry.

"Avada Kedavra." The jet of green light shot out of Voldemort's wand and raced towards Harry. Time seemed to slow down, Harry barely the sounds of Aurors coming into the wrecked house. The curse hit Harry and he was sent spinning through the air and everything went black.

His world tilted and he was standing upright, looking into a mirror, but it wasn't him looking back. Well it was but this Harry looked different, he was a bit older, with his jaw and cheekbones more prominent, giving him a gaunt like look, he had a haircut, a new scar on his face, his eyes were colder and he was wearing expensive clothing. His world suddenly tilted again and he fell through the mirror and into a long dark corridor, Voldemort was slowly walking towards him with his wand in his hand. Harry turned and ran, Voldemort chased him while laughing maniacally. Harry kept running and the corridor ended abruptly and he fell off an edge into a choppy, wild ocean. He was sinking deeper and deeper no matter what he did to get to the surface. He sank to the bottom of the ocean, past the ocean floor, and then he was standing once more in front of an elder tree. The calm image was disturbed by a Thestral flying in and landing in front of him. He slowly reached out to touch it and as he was about to place his hand on it the Thestral faded into black dust and then the apple tree along with it and he plunged into darkness. It was dark for a while and then there was a flash of lightning and it jolted Harry awake. He sat up quickly, he heard people scream but he ignored it.

He couldn't remember his dream, he knew it was important but he couldn't remember and the more he tried the more his head hurt.

"Harry?" A tentative Hermione said. "Can you tell us what happened? The order is being all hushed about it." That's when Harry took a look around the room. Ron and Ginny were here too, Harry found himself not wanting them here right now, he just wanted to be alone, exactly how it was like for the first weak of summer, thinking of Sirius and reading all the books he had on magic. He ignored Hermione's question and swung his legs over the edge of the bed and stood up.

"Harry! You're not supposed to be up, you need to lie down." Hermione said.

"I'm fine." Was all he said. Hermione rushes over to hug him but before she could he turned away.

"Just leave me alone, please," Harry said quietly with his back facing them. Ron and Hermione slowly and reluctantly made their way out of the room, they knew he could get like this sometimes.

"That includes you, Ginny," Harry said, and then she too left. Once she was gone he took a look around the room, he was In St. Mungos. There was a mirror, a glass of water, and a newspaper from the Daily Profit on the desk beside the hospital bed, he grabbed a glass of water and drank it in one gulp, he glanced into the mirror and looked away before snapping his eyes back to the mirror in surprise, his hair was much longer now and he had a thin patchy beard, if you could even call it patchy, he looked terrible. He looked at the newspaper and something caught his eye, he grabbed the paper and looked at it closely and what he saw shocked him. The paper read 'July 17th, 1997'. The Death Eaters attacked on the 26th of June. He was asleep in a hospital for 21 days. He dropped the paper on the floor and sat on his bed, his hands shaking in his lap and his head down, his jaw was clenched and his eyes narrowed. Being put into a coma even after reading those books showed him how far he still had to go. The door to his room suddenly opened again and a Healer walked in.

"Aww, you poor thing, you must have seen the date on that newspaper." She said when she saw the newspaper on the floor. He couldn't stand the look of pity she was giving him.

"I'm fine. Are you here to check up on me?" Harry said.

"Yes. If this check-up comes back and says you are fine then you will be free to leave." The Healer said. She waved her wand around him muttering spells as she did.

"You are free to leave Mr. Potter. I must say, you made a spectacular recovery. Broken left arm, broken ribs, concussion, sprained ankle, and magical deprivation. You were pretty much a crippled squib. Fixed you up good. Though magical deprivation can't be treated, the person needs to slowly recover, which is curious because it only took you a few weeks to recover. Anyway, people are waiting for you in the lobby." The Healer said and then walked out of the room.

"You need a haircut," Remus said when Harry walked into the lobby.

"Yeah and some clothes," Harry said, looking at the hospital gown.

"Yeah, you grew a bit while you were in the coma so the healer took you out of your clothes and put that on you," Remus said. "Also an owl came with your O.W.L's, so I guess we'll go shopping today." Remus grabbed Harry and they apparated into Diagon alley and started making their way to Gringotts.

"So who was at the hospital with you?" Harry asked. "The Healer said more than one person was waiting for me."

"Oh, just an Order member stopping by to check up on you," Remus said, and they entered the grand, snowy white building. Harry and Remus made for the counter.

"I'm here to gather money from my vault, and now that I'm thinking about it, I have a few questions," Harry said. The goblin looked up at him.

"All of that can be taken care of with the family estate manager. Name please." The goblin said, who clearly knew who he was already.

"Harry Potter."

"Fairclaw will be with you in a moment." They waited a minute as a goblin walked around the counter to greet Harry and Remus.

"I am Fairclaw, we will go to my office before going down to the vaults, follow me," Fairclaw said.

They followed Fairclaw through one of the doors, down the hall, turned right and his office was the first one on the left, the goblin let them in and they all took a seat.

"Now. I hear you have a couple of questions, what are they?" Fairclaw said.

"I was wondering if my parents made a will and if Sirius Black made one." Said, Harry.

"Yes both of them did. Why were you not informed of this by your guardian?" asked the confused goblin.

"Well, the Dursleys wouldn't know about that stuff."

"Not your muggle guardians. Your magical guardian, Albus Dumbledore."

"I didn't even know there was such a thing as a magical guardian. It being Albus Dumbledore would explain why I know nothing though."

"Sounds like Mr. Dumbledore is not fit to be a magical guardian. We don't even know if he is supposed to be your guardian as the reading of your parents will has been put off. We can go ahead and read the wills now if you like." Fairclaw said and Harry nodded.

Last will of James and Lily Potter. Potter Cottage. This is the last will of James and Lily Potter, and it hereby revokes any previously made will or codicil.

Executor: Fairclaw of the Goblin Nation.

Our only heir is Harry James Potter and should both of us die Sirius Black will gain guardianship.

We leave everything to our heir Harry James Potter.

Signed: James Potter. Lily Potter.

Last will of Sirius Black. This is the last will of Sirius Black, and it hereby revokes any previously made will or codicil.

Executor: Gringotts.

I declare Harry James Potter my heir. Possible by me being Harry Potter's Godfather and guardian and Harry Potter having Black family blood as his Great Great Grandmother is Dorea Potter nee Black.

I leave all Black family assets to Harry James Potter.

"I Fairclaw name you Lord Black, I will now give you your family rings. You are one of the most powerful wizards in Britain now." Fairclaw said with a grin. He handed Harry two rings.

"The Potter Family ring is Gold with Red Beryl as the center gemstone. It will detect if there is a poison in something you are about to drink. A few of your ancestors were great potioneers. The Black Family ring is Platinum with Green Emerald as the center gemstone. This allows you to pick up anything that is owned by the Black family, bypassing all the deadly enchantments. It also gives you the ability to summon a Black family knife from the Black family vault." Fairclaw said.

"Thank you Fairclaw, though I don't know what being the head of a house means, or being a lord," Harry said and put them on his right hand. He looked at lupin who had a shocked expression on his face.

"Well as the head of house you can choose to run the estate and as a lord, you have a seat in the Wizagmont," Fairclaw said. It sounded like a very much simplified version.

"That all seems like I have to be an adult to be those things," Harry said.

"As the last Potter, you have the right to wear the ring and since you are the last Potter and above fifteen years of age you can be the head of your family, same for the black family, there is no head of the family at the moment and you were named heir. To be a Lord though, you have to be considered an adult," said Fairclaw.

"Now. Onto the matter of your guardian. He was not mentioned in any of the wills so he was not supposed to be your guardian. You have no living person able to be your magical guardian unless the Ministry provides you with one. Dumbledore is not trustworthy because he hasn't done his job as a Magical Guardian and I trust you don't want Ministry approved guardians." Fairclaw said and Harry nodded.

"Then I suggest you try for emancipation," Fairclaw said.

"No. Harry, you're not allowed. You're only sixteen. You aren't responsible enough. Dumbledore wouldn't want that because you could put yourself at risk." Remus said, suddenly anxious. Harry looked at him suspiciously.

"Emancipation it is, Fairclaw," Harry said.

"Great. I will personally attend to this matter. You will be emancipated as soon as possible. In the meantime let's go to your vault." Fairclaw said. They took the cart all the way down to Vault 687, the Potter family vault. Harry went inside with the pouch provided by Fairclaw and put multiple handfuls of Galleons in it. Then they went to Vault 711, the Black family vault. Harry looked around, not intending to take anything as he already has money. He saw a bookshelf and made a note to come back for them when he had a safe place for them. They took the cart back up and bid their farewells after converting some Galleons into pounds for the muggle world, they left Gringotts and walked to Madam Malkin's for his clothes. When they were done there they walked to Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour and got ice cream.

"I still don't understand why you bought so much expensive clothing," said Remus

"I would have gone to Twilfit and Tattings but I don't think I need to spend that much on clothes, Yet. I did offer to buy stuff for you but you said no," said Harry, who was wearing his new slim-fitting summer robes, in beige color. He didn't really understand why he wasn't uncomfortable about his wealth anymore.

"Let's go get you a haircut now." Remus said when he finished his ice cream."I know a decent place in Diagon alley that I can take you too."

"We should go to a barber in the Muggle world. I have a feeling they are more knowledgeable in this particular skill." Harry said.

"Well alright then, where do we need to go," said Remus.

"Fitzrovia Barbers, do you know the place?"

"I've walked past it before."

"Perfect." Remus grabbed Harry's arm and apparated them to Fitzrovia Barbers. A simple looking place.

"Hello, what can I do for today?" said a pretty, black-haired, and hazel-eyed girl around his age.

"I need to get my hair cut as soon as possible, do you have any open spaces?" Harry said.

"There is an open spot for thirty minutes from now." The girls said.

"I'll take that one then," said Harry.

"Name?"

"Harry Potter." She wrote his name in a book.

"Would you like a drink while you wait?" She asked.

"Yes. We'll have two beers. Corona with a lime in each." Remus said. Harry felt something appear in his pocket. The girl hesitated but went anyway. She came back a minute later with them opened and with lime in each. She handed them to them and then went to cut someone's hair. Harry was sure she was supposed to ask for id.

"You know, Moody would be on our asses for taking an opened drink," Harry said, amused, his ring didn't say it was dangerous though so they were good. Remus laughed and nodded. Harry reached into his pocket and took the thing that Remus put in there. It was an id, for him. Harry looked at Remus with a raised eyebrow.

"I figured I would start acting like one of those fun uncles, I haven't been in your life and I want to be and I know you won't accept a parental figure," Remus said.

"I'm sixteen," said Harry. He couldn't help but think that Remus was trying to cover up his disagreement on emancipation.

"And yet, I trust you with it more than some adults. You're also rarely in the muggle world so you can't do that much damage."

"What's with the muggle beer anyway."

"Your dad liked it." The girl waved Harry over to one of the chairs.

"What do you want?" The girl asked after he sat down and she put the cape to prevent hair from going in his clothes on.

"I want an undercut with a textured crop, the fringe will be pushed to the right. No fade, I want it to be disconnected and sharp. And get rid of that patchy thin beard." Harry said immediately.

"That was very quick and specific. I agree with you on the patchy beard, why didn't you just take it off yourself?" She said.

"I was in a coma for a month, I woke up today. I didn't know what I wanted until you asked. That haircut has a meaning that I'm not sure of yet." Harry said.

"Wow. Well, it is an older haircut, similar to military haircuts, it was supposed to prevent lice between soldiers." That spooked Harry. A haircut meant for war, wonder what that means.

"Why did you give me the beer?" Harry asked while she got the electric hair clipper.

"It's not the worst thing anyone our age has done, you'll be able to buy your own next year anyway."

"I'm sixteen but thanks for the compliment," Harry said with a smile. She didn't say anything and started shaving the sides and back of his head. Harry watched as seemingly his entire head changed. The hair on top was about three and a half inches, the textured look kept his hair messy and his sides were almost completely shaved off.

"We should have done a before and after pic." The girl said. "It looks good, I wouldn't have expected that with how your hair was before."

"Yeah, it's different, I love it though," Harry said, making the girl beam in pride.

"Good because that'll be forty pounds." Said the girl with a grin. Harry took out the money and gave it to her at the front counter.

"Thank you," Harry said. He and Remus left the barbershop and decided to go for a small walk before going back to Grimmauld Place.

"So, how does it feel to be one of the most powerful wizards in Britain," Remus asked.

"I don't feel any different. I'm not nearly as powerful as I will be when I'm emancipated." Harry said.

"You shouldn't have done that. People are gonna be angry when they find out." Remus said.

"People were gonna find out I don't have a real guardian. Then the Ministry would appoint one and I don't think the order would like that." Harry said.

"That is true I guess. I still have to tell the order tonight though. It's time to go to Grimmauld Place." said Remus. Harry nodded, He was silently dreading that meal though. Remus grabbed Harry and they apparated to Grimmauld Place and walked in.

"No one goes in Sirius' room," Harry said.

"We haven't been in it. The rooms that we cleared for you, Hermione and the Weasleys are on the second floor. You and Ron, Ginny and Hermione, Fred and George. Two to a room. Everyone is on the second floor. We haven't cleaned any higher still. Someone will call you down for dinner." Remus said. Harry nodded then went up to the second floor and into his and Ron's room. He fell onto his bed and the day caught up to him and he was asleep in a few seconds.

I've noticed a lot of people talking about how a lot of the things I've kept from canon ruin the Harry I was trying to create and I'm sure a lot of it is right.

I've said to a few people that if I started after Sirius' death then it wouldn't make sense to not follow canon.

I am going back to change multiple things that have caught my attention to fit my story better and all I can say is I wanted to pump out as many chapters as I could and as quickly as I could, clearly that was a mistake.

I promise it will be a well-rounded story where people's actions line up with personality or something previously stated in the book.

This will obviously mean much slower updates and honestly, if I was someone reading since I first posted a chapter I would restart when I do.
