Eri's New Friend

Eri was sitting on her bed in Izuku Midoriya's dorm room at the UA dorm building. She was waiting for her adoptive parents Izuku Midoriya and his girlfriend Ochako Uraraka to tuck her in before she went to sleep. Eri started wrapping herself in her blanket before Midoriya and Uraraka walked into the room with Midoriya holding a shopping bag in his hand, which did not go unnoticed by Eri.

"Ready for bed Eri?" Uraraka asked, to which Eri responded with a nod.

"Yes Mama, I brushed my teeth, put on my PJs, and have my nightlight on," Eri responded, still staring at the shopping bag in Midoriya's hand. Midoriya saw this and chuckled before walking up to Eri.

"Eri, this is a gift that me and Mama got you while we were out," Midoriya explained, before giving the shopping bag to Midoriya. Eri looked up at her parents before putting her hand into the bag. When her hand came out of the bag, it revealed a stuffed unicorn toy. Eri looked at the toy with a vested interest before Uraraka continued.

"We thought you might like it since you've talked about being scared of the dark. So we got you something that will keep you company in the dark when you're sleeping in your own bed. " Eri was still looking at the toy, specifically the yellow horn the unicorn had on the center of its forehead. Eri pet the unicorn on the head before stopping and leaning closer to the toy as if it were talking to her.

"Oh…I like your horn too," Eri mumbled at the toy bashfully, shyly petting her horn. Eri let out a high pitched yawn before she looked back at the toy.

"Yeah…I'm tired. You…you can sleep here if you want," Eri offered, with a blush on her face. Eri stared at the unicorn for a couple of seconds, before smiling.

"Yay! You can be my bedtime buddy! Oh, I almost forgot before I go to sleep, my name is Eri," Eri introduced to the toy, her shyness seemingly gone.

"Iris? That's a cute name," Eri complimented before laying down with the toy, Uraraka tucking her in.

"Tomorrow is Saturday Iris, so we can talk and I can get to know more about you," Eri offered. Eri smiled as if the toy had said 'yes' before Midoriya turned off the lights.

"I'm glad you've made a new friend, Eri, but it's time to go to bed," Midoriya said. Eri nodded, and closed her eyes while hugging Iris and holding it close to her chest. Uraraka and Midoriya smiled at each other seeing how close Eri had already gotten to the toy.

"She didn't ask for a bedtime story or a lullaby," Uraraka pointed out, still looking like Eri as if she was still expecting her to start waking up with tears in her eyes like she usually would in the dark.

"It's a really good start. Soon enough, she'll be able to sleep without her nightlight and not be afraid of the dark anymore," Midoriya responded before Uraraka kissed him on the cheek before the two laid down to fall asleep themselves. Eri meanwhile was having a much harder time falling asleep, as she was excited about what the next day held now that she had Iris by her side.
