It had been about two years roughly since Phil Deville and Wally Ramone had broken up. Despite the breakup, the two of them, and Lil of course, continued to remain friends.

Although at this time, Wally was still finding the whole relationship thing confusing, she, through her growing bonding and friendship with the Devilles, had learned of a couple of flaws that had been present in her and Phil's relationship.

She and Phil had lacked proper bonding. And they had yet to develop trust, either before or during their time of dating. This was of course natural when she and him didn't truly know each other that well. Before taking an interest in Phil, Wally spent more time with Lil, and regarding Phil, she was really just the captain of the soccer team they played on.

But lately, they, sometimes along with Lil, had been spending a lot more time together (as friends), and so she felt that these issues were slowly being rectified. Yes, Wally was paying attention to this. She still had feelings for Phil and she was pretty sure he still felt the same way.

Now, they were close to finishing middle school. Perhaps by the start of high school, they could become a thing again.
