A/N: Eight years ago today…I had to do something, it's not much, but it's something.
Disclaimer: I don't own Chuck.
"Why are we at the beach in January? It's cold," the little 5 yr old complained.
"Because it's important," her aunt replied. "It's important that you know what happened, and why today is so special."
"I don't understand," the little one whined, as she plopped down on the blanket that her aunt spread on the sand.
"Today is the day that someone was found on this beach." The little girl looked at her aunt, listening intently. "A woman who was lost, scared, and alone. Today is the day that eight long years ago, her best friend that she couldn't even remember told her he was here for her."
"That's what friends do," the younger girl with blond curls said, nodding emphatically. "Friends are there for each other."
"But what if you don't remember them?" her aunt inquired.
The little girl shrugged. "Your heart always remembers."
Her aunt smiled at her and nodded, tears in her eyes. "Yeah, it does." They sat there for a while, watching the waves crash into the shoreline. "I was your age when it all happened, I had just met my sister."
The little girl looked up at her aunt. "Molly, who was the woman who forgot?"
"It was your Mom, Sam. She couldn't remember your father."
"That's ridiculous," Sam said, turning away and playing in the sand. "Mommy never forgets Daddy."
"She couldn't remember him," Molly insisted. Sam turned to Molly and laid her hand in the middle of Molly's chest.
"Daddy says in here, you never forget," Sam explained. "They can't forget each other."
Molly threw her head back and laughed. "He would say that."
"I'm old enough now you can tell me the truth," Sam said, confusing Molly. "I know Mommy and Daddy just wanted time to kiss, and that's why we're here. They are always kissing."
"That they are, Sam, that they are," Molly agreed laughing. "Look, there they are," she said pointing to the couple, holding hands, heading toward them.
"MOMMY! DADDY!" Sam yelled, getting up and heading toward them. Molly watched her go, and as Sam reached Sarah, Sarah picked the little girl up, swinging her in the air, until Sarah pulled her into her arms for a huge hug.
"I think she's right, they can't ever forget each other," Molly said softly watching the three walk toward her. Molly looked around the beach that changed this family's life. "Love always wins."
A/N: They are together, and I am crying. That's how it ends. Found footage that we all needed. If you'll excuse me I'm going to go bawl somewhere.
