Naruto Uzumaki was the vessel of the Kyuubi and this one fact made his life just terrible. It was made worse by the fact that he was an orphan.

As a young child he would always try to play with the other kids but the parents would keep them away and the caretakers at the orphanage would keep him alone, away from any human contact.

Since young he was taught alone, trained to be alone.

He learned that crying would never get him what he wanted but only make people hate him more. Those eyes, he never understood in the early years but was made clear once he ended up in a fight with a kid.

The parents snatched away the kid and screamed in horror as they cursed at him, even though he was the one that was hurt.

Naruto had watched as they got away from him like something would happen, his head was bleeding and he had lost consciousness but he would always remember those trembling eyes.

Life went on like usual and Naruto isolated himself. He had learned that no matter what he did, they would always fear him.

Yes, fear him. Naruto finally understood what those emotions in those eyes meant after finding it in a book, the description was eerily exact like his situation.

Naruto was confused and observed his own form then compared it to them; he wasn't different so why did they hate him.

Naruto wandered blindly for the reason as it grated his nerves. He hated the darkness and ignorance led man to darkness.

There were three theories he developed after reading the books and observations.

They hated him because he was the son of a powerful villain and he was a political hostage.

They hated him because he was a monster and he was being tested in the human environment.

They hated him because he was the vessel of a monster that they despised.

All these reasons seemed very valid and Naruto couldn't dismiss any of them as he didn't have further clues.

He had taken 3 years to reach these conclusions and as an 8 year old child, Naruto was quite mature and emotionally stunted.

He never knew love, kindness and joy in real life, only his books told him what those words meant.

Naruto had the same schedule for three years, he would have breakfast by hunting in the forest, then he would train according to the books and then he would read and relax.

Unlike most kids, he had failed his entrance test to the ninja academy as they told him that he had a chakra system disorder that would kill him if he ever activated his chakra.

These words told to him by a respected senior so Naruto trusted him as there was no reason for not allowing him training at a low class academy as he didn't try to enter the High class academy for the children of Jounins and talented kids.

So he gave up on it and decided to just pass his time living in the forest where he was given some books on exercising, geography, general knowledge, sciences, survival guide, monster guide and legends.

It was a peaceful life without any human interactions. He lived in the belly of nature and made friends with the little creatures.

His best friend was a Raven that he called Raven. Yes, Naruto realized he was terrible at naming but he stuck with it.

"Oh Raven won't you sing me a happy song" Naruto said as he lay on a boulder beside the river as Raven perched on the nearest tree

Naruto was sun bathing after his lunch and thought about songs as he read they could bring out emotions so he thought maybe he would learn something.

But he didn't know any songs and looked at Raven for help.

Raven looked at him and shook its head.

"Friend, you leave me no choice. I shall make my own song but first some inspiration." Naruto said as he jumped to his feet and started walking deeper into the forest while looking at everything as inspirations come from anything

As Naruto was exploring for a song, Konoha had been attacked by the first exploratory squads from Kumo and Iwa as they saw signs of weakness. Konoha had continuously lost power in the last decade and the Kyuubi attack had done it a number.

The two nations had been vary of the Kyuubi vessel but learned that Konoha had disregarded training the monster. Such foolishness was just the opportunity they needed but haste made waste so they first went to test the defenses.

In this battle two of the top rank of Jounin appeared that took Konoha's attention as some genins and chunin slipped inside the village.

Two genins had went directly for the forest as they knew Naruto was staying there, he was their target of elimination as Kumo and Iwa wanted the Kyuubi out of the picture for some time before they ended Konoha.

Raven cried out as it sensed the blood thirst and Naruto understood that danger was coming, he took out his dagger and held it.

Naruto stood with his back to a tree and held the dagger close to his chest as his eyes looked from left to right.

He was feeling the pressure; this was the first time his life might be in danger.

'Ah, I might die today. I hope Raven can eat my body instead some other animal so I can watch this wide world through his eyes.' Naruto felt his body calm down and stared ahead as leg came at him

The enemy tried to hit him with a chakra enhanced kick that snapped the tree in half but Naruto had ducked and placed his dagger at right place at the right time.

"AHHHH"

Naruto ignored the scream, 'Bless me with power, Mother' and slashed the foes balls then rolled with the kick from the other assailant as he collided with a tree.

Naruto was unharmed and surprised that these two foes were so weak even though they had chakra.

"How the fuck is he so durable?"

"How the fuck did he see my attack when his chakra still not activated?" The assailant with the bleeding balls screamed as he his attack was supersonic, not something a normal person could counter

"He is physically strong, kill him with long range." The other assailant wearing Iwa uniform ordered as he took out shurikens from his pouch and Naruto knew he was done

The enemy didn't wait and threw multiple stars with chakra enhancing them, they cut through the trees like butter and Naruto couldn't block them with his knife.

Naruto thought he would just die like he was supposed to as nobody wanted him but before the attack could pierce his heart, Raven blocked the path.

Naruto watched in horror as his friend died for him. Naruto looked at Raven as his feel to the floor with huge holes in its body.

"I never understood that I always had a friend beside me until this point. I am sorry Raven but before I join you, I will kill them.

I will kill them for you. This must be rage, my blood is boiling." Naruto was bleeding from his arms and legs as he touched Raven's blood and looked at his foes that were taking out more

His body was covered in red chakra as the damage healed and his eyes were shining with a red pattern seal in both eyes.

Naruto saw the attacks come at him and saw three seconds in to the future from his left eye.

He ran at them and dodged the attacks as he already knew where they would go, he was like a berserker as he slammed into one of them with his knee to their neck.

One down and the next went down with the dagger pierced into his neck.

Naruto looked at the dead bodies and felt nothing, his anger cooled down but he started feeling pain in his heart.

He walked back to his friend and placed his hand on him.

"Please don't leave me alone." Naruto cried for the first time in five years and could stop this new feeling take over him

He heard footsteps but didn't care and just held Raven in his arms.

"Child, I will take you from here along with your friend. Do you want to come?"

Naruto heard the feminine voice and looked at the small woman; he knew she was a lady from her mannerism.

"You can bring him back?"

"Yes"

Naruto stood up and held Raven for her to see, and she smiled at him as Raven glowed with green light and was healed.

Naruto was over the moon with joy, yes joy. He had learned what happiness was on that day and what love meant as he was smitten by those green eyes.
