In the harsh deserts of Vacuo, a Bullhead landed down in a clearing as many people were digging through the dirt and picking down at rocks. The hatch opened up and a middle aged Faunus with the ears of an Akita Inu dog came out with a Human woman with black hair in tow towards a man with blonde hair and a chubby stature in an explorer's outfit spoke over the sound of the Bullhead engines "Dr. Serizawa! Dr. Graham! It's good to meet you two! I'm Dr. Grain, I'm the head of this mining operation! I'll warn you, the whole thing is a mess!"

Dr. Grain lead the two towards a fence where it overlooked a giant hole. Easily the size of two Amity Arenas. Dr. Serizawa looked at it and was shocked "What caused the collapse?" He spoke with an accent that meant English was not his first language. Dr. Grain answered "There was a sudden spike in an energy source and it caused it the valley to drop. Some of the miners swore they saw the valley move. Like the sand mountain moving by itself." Dr. Serizawa and Dr. Graham looked at each other and Serizawa muttered "Shinsen."

The duo walked along side the fence until climbing up a sand hill to see a large trench spanning for miles before it cascaded into a large cave like hole. Dr. Graham stated "It's heading towards Vale." Dr. Serizawa looked back at her then ran back towards the Bullhead. Dr. Graham ran with him and she ordered the pilot "Take us to Vale!" Thus Nature's true wrath would be revealed.

Vale

Ruby for the first time, felt nervous at the sight of the Grimm surrounding her and her team in the heart of Vale. Growls were heard all over the courtyard as Weiss took form with Myrtenaster. Blake crouched as she held Gambol Shroud above her head like a katana. Yang got into a boxer stance as she clenched her fists and Ember Celica cocked. Her golden scaled tail swayed and littered as the fur hardened into metal. Ruby held her scythe, Crescent Rose raised up and crouched low. Her ears, were that of a wolf's ears. Pointed and listened for any sounds behind her.

Beowolves and Creeps jumped up at them as Yang punched them down and burned some of them. Her tail stabbed into a Creep's mouth then sliced its jaw off as Ruby swiped them with her scythe, removing their heads or their chest from their waste. Weiss drive quick stabs into their vital points and Blake gave quick slashes and kicks before crouching low and shooting several beowolves. A Bullhead drove down carrying Team JNPR who dropped down. Jaune managed to cut down an Ursa Major as Nora smashed the King Taijitu's head.

Beowolves sprinted after the team before a rumbling stopped everyone in their tracks. A growl was heard but it wasn't from any of the grimm. More rumbling happened and it threw everyone down onto the floor. The rumbling continued before something bursted out from below.

It was a large worm like creature with pale rough skin and large black rock like spikes on its sides. The front contained a huge black beak and three mandible jaws and emitted a roar as three snake like creatures came out of its mouth. Each contained two horns on their heads a third on under the jaw. They three jaws gave a shriek and started biting into building and managed to pull them out and snap their jaws shut, destroying the shops. Yang shouted out as she stood back up "What the fuck is that thing!?" Sun looked at it as it slithered around Vale, destroying everything in its path. The Grimm by that point all ran away from the courtyard and back into the surrounding forests. "No way... That thing's real!? I thought it was just a story!" Ruby asked "What're you talking about?"

Before he could answer, the Atlesian military started firing at the worm creature. The bullets merely bounced off the hide before a dust middle was fired and hit the back of its head. The worm roared before diving back down into the ground leaving nothing but rubble and dirt. The Grimm by that point retreated back into the surrounding forests. Several Bullheads landed down and picked up the students. Glynda Goodwitch used her semblance to repair the hole from the train crash.

General James Ironwood watched as the students walked out from the Bullheads and spoke "You all did a well done job defending your kingdom." Yang spoke "I don't want to sound rude, General but I just have to ask... What the actual fuck was that thing!?" Glynda was about to say something but a voice spoke out "I can tell you!" Everyone looked over to see Dr. Serizawa and Dr. Graham walk over to the group of students and Ironwood said "Excuse me! This is private property. Who are you two?" The Akita Faunus answered "I am Dr. Ishiro Serizawa. This is my partner Dr. Vivienne Graham. We are with Monarch."

General Ironwood's eyes widen and Ruby asked "Monarch?" Dr. Graham took over from there. "We are a scientific group that specializes in studying biologically ancient creatures." Yang asked "So you study giant monsters?" Graham replied nervously "Essentially yes."

Dr. Serizawa looked at Ruby with her wolf ears and asked "Excuse me, but are you related to Summer Rose?" Everyone looked at Ruby as she answered shyly with her ears twitch "Y-yes? How do you know her?" Dr. Graham and Serizawa looked at each other and he responded "Our condolences. Your mother was one of our best and brightest scientists." Ruby was then confused "Scientist? My mom was a Huntress." Serizawa walked closer to her and answered "She was a Huntress but she was also a scientist." Before more could be said, Weiss asked "You said you could answer our question?" Dr. Serizawa nodded then spoke "Do you mind if we use one of your classrooms?"

Cinder watched the destruction and gritted her teeth "This puts a large obstacle in our plan." Mercury watched it "Giant fucking worm slithering throughout Vale? Kinda will inhibit any person's plan." Emerald punched his shoulder "Shut up, Mercury! You're not helping." Cinder's scroll rang and she answered "Yes?" "Cinder." The voice... It was Salem's voice "Yes Mistress?" "Report back to the castle. Abort the mission." Cinder was a little confused but responded "Yes Mistress." Emerald asked "What do we do?" Cinder looked back and grabbed Emerald's hand "We're heading back to the castle." Whatever it is that has Salem wanting to retreat back, it must be a large threat.
