A/N: I started writing this fic ages ago after watching the 1998 version of The Parent Trap for the millionth time. This fic begins in September 1991 and then skips ahead to June 2003. Enjoy!

September 1991

She can't stop looking over at him, smiling, filled with joy. Her husband-she can't believe it. He hasn't stopped touching her since they said their "I do's"-right now she's nestled under his arm, her hand clasping his, listening to him talk to her cousins.

It was a very small ceremony-just them, and Teddy and Chrissy as witnesses-and a surprise, too, because she hadn't even told her parents about Mike, they weren't even engaged… but they woke up this morning and he said, 'I can't imagine the rest of my life without you. Let's get married today,' and here they are, five months after getting together, married. She's-thrilled, and what a weak word for the joy she feels, the happiness suffusing every inch of her being.

She's never done anything so reckless in all her life.

They aren't wearing proper wedding attire-he's in a suit, yes, and she's in a white dress-but it's a short white silk dress, and they got married at City Hall, and now they're having their unconventional reception at Lutèce with her cousins.

Mike shifts, releasing her from his embrace so that he can pick up his champagne flute. She turns to him, and he's smiling at her, and she hears a click as someone takes a picture.

'That's a good one!' Chrissy says, and she beams.

'Here's to you,' Teddy tells them, lifting his glass of champagne. 'We wish you every happiness.'

She touches her glass to Mike's, and then he kisses her, and she smiles against his lips.
