A/N: Short lil thing for a pairing which quickly grew on me. :'D

Human

V knew what it was like to be discarded. To feel unwanted. Yet he couldn't imagine the pain Sagi was going through, the thought his mate didn't want him and deemed useless. He wanted to erase the tears sticking to his eyelashes. And, if it was even possible, he hated Urizen even more for making this precious boy cry.

He knows he's incomplete with the demon half of his soul. He also knows that half despises Sagi, wants him dead, so he would never be blinded by the illusion of "love". His human half, though? V wants nothing more than to wrap Sagi in his arms, tell him it's okay, it was only the demon side of Vergil who told him those things.

But he's not sure how well the latter will take the whole thing. He doesn't know Vergil was split in two; he just thought he discarded his human side and became a full blooded demon. However, he's willing to try.

V walks towards Sagi, who doesn't even acknowledge his presense. When V rests his hand on his shoulder, that's when he flicks turquoise eyes up to gaze upon him. His eyes were always one of the many things I love about him… V's internal voice says, full of affection and adoration for the one before him.

"Hi, V," Sagi whispers, voice loaded with pain and agony. The tears he tried so desperately to hold back trickle down his cheeks, and V can't help himself; he reaches forward and catches stray ones with his thumb. Sagi tips his head, curiosity glimmering in his eyes.

"You thought Vergil discarded his human side?" V cuts to the chase. Sagi's eyes widen for a minute before they close. "He didn't. I'm right here."

The boy's eyes snapped open and he looks at the other with a faint speck of hope. "...You..?" is all he manages to utter. V nods and engulfs Sagi within his arms, holding the smaller one close. Sagi grips on his vest and buries his face within V's chest, shoulders shaking. "So… So Vergil can…?"

"He can," V murmurs, running his fingers through Sagi's turquoise tresses. They're so soft. "But until it happens, I promise to be here."

Sagi looks up at the dark haired man, giving him a tiny smile. He really should smile more, V says to himself as his free hand cups his mate's cheek. He presses his lips against the boy's forehead in a brief show of affection, and Sagi blushes, worrying his lip between his teeth.

Urizen may have filled his head with lies. However, V hopes his presense will assure Sagi Vergil always loved and cared for him.

As he nuzzles his cheek against his chest, V guesses they're on the right road.
