CHAPTER 6: "Clothes Maketh Man"
The guys said goodbye to the girls before getting into Howard's car to go to Caltech.
-Skipped to where they are at Cal-Tech-
California Institute of Technology
As Howard parked his car into the parking lot, Sheldon couldn't help but reflect as to what was truly going on. First-he cracked time travel, which wasn't too hard really as he mastered it at a young age but perfected it in just mere hours but he will never reveal as it would cause major problems, second-he was married to the love of his life and he can truly give her the life that she deserved to have, and finally-he hasn't told his Memaw he was married.
"I have to fix that right away," he couldn't help but mutter out loud.
Howard turned to face him, as Sheldon was sitting in the passenger seat, "fix what dude, what could you possible have left to fix? You cracked you-know-what, gave us a second chance in life. What more could there be?"
Howard really at this moment couldn't figure out what was going through Sheldon's head. Raj took this moment to speak up from the backseat.
"Yeah dude, what more is there, from the obvious of the plans we already made?"
"The issue that needs to be fixed, my situation, is that I'm a married man and neither my Memaw, mother, or siblings know about that fact." He said and slight worry could be heard from his voice.
Raj and Howard gave each other a look as this situation they couldn't help with as much as they'd like too but the did tell Sheldon that they were behind him no matter what he chose to do. After the weird but heart-warming pep talk from the guys, Sheldon finally calmed down a good amount. He took a deep breath before asking if they were ready to head in, he received positive answers.
As they were walking into the building, Sheldon couldn't help but realize what just wearing "professional clothing in a work environment" could do to a persona social status. People and colleagues are making way for them as they walk, before they would have to yell, "Excuse me" to try to make way into their offices but now before they have to say anything others just makes way for them to pass, as though they were mere pawns before the kings.
"Hmmm."
Form the corner of his eyes he saw Howard and Raj had a look of puzzlement; he shook his head as to say he would tell them the reason afterward. Building the time device and making plans really brought their friendship up a few levels because he could tell just from the little shook of the head, they understood immediately what he meant.
In a corridor, he saw that this was the time to head right to his office as Howard and Raj will go left for theirs.
"I will see you both at lunch, yes. Make sure to come by my office before so we could surprise, he-who-must-not-be-named together."
Sheldon couldn't help but be a little bossy, but the guys wasn't fazed by this as they were used to him being bossy. Like they said, 'If Sheldon isn't bossy then you already know he was replaced by a POD person'. They both gave nodded before leaving for their offices.
He finally made it into his office, he couldn't help to pause after he closed the door. He took it all in,
"It's been a while," he reminisced, "look at these theories."
He put his bag on the couch before rolling up the sleeves of his cardigan and button up shirt (look up 'The Cardigan Roll' to have a picture of what it looks like), he then spent the next hour to correct his past theories to perfect then send to educational journals and writing down parts of his Nobel Prize Winning theory 'discovery of the theoretical underpinnings of super-asymmetry'. He writes random parts together, so it doesn't make sense to others if his work is seen while still having the main components in his head, which is the safest place they could be.
He finally took a break and looked out his window, debating if he should call his family now to tell them about the big news of his marital status, when he heard his office door bang open and Leslie Winkler barged in as if she owned the place.
He couldn't help but roll his eyes at that.
"Paging Dr. Dumbass don't think you could steal my time again to do whatever dumb experiment you have in mind…" she paused, "Excuse me sir, it seems I have the wrong room. I was looking for Dr. Dumb…I mean Dr. Cooper."
Leslie Winkler left abruptly before coming back just as quick once she read the name by the door.
"No, wait a minute, I have the right room, who might you be sir? And do you know where Dr. Cooper might be?" Leslie asked politely.
At this he turned around, face as impassive as it might get.
"Hello Winkler, what could you possibly need from me." He answered nonchalantly.
You could possibly see the shock on her face all the way from Germany. Her face had many changes before finally stopping at shock with a little hint of lust hidden behind her eyes. Sheldon didn't recognize the sight of the hidden lust but even if he did he wouldn't care as to even think about it as he had his wife Penny and that's all he cared about; unlike others, we will not name names *cough*Leonard*cough*, with his cheating trifling ass.
"Hello Dr. Dumbass," Leslie said with a hint of lust on her voice before coughing and continuing with her normal voice, "…ahem, what's up with the makeover? Before you looked like a man-child but now you actually look like a man. A normal man who knows how to dress nice. Huh."
He didn't bother replying her, just merely rolled his eyes but that was answer enough for Leslie as she knew she got somewhere under his skin. She gave him a grin before turning around and leaving as abruptly as she came in.
After the interruption he worked more on his theories before he heard a knock on his office door, Howard and Raj came in after he said foe them to enter. He looked at his clock and saw that it was nearly time for lunch.
Howard began talking, "So how are we going to do this? Do we find a different table to sit on or do we go to are usual table before Leonard gets a chance to sit there? Or instead of eating at the lunchroom, we go to a restaurant by the building and invite Bernadette and Penny to eat with us if they are not busy? Cause I'm cool with either option."
"While it would be fun to go about as we would usually do with the situation of where we eat; the only difference would be the chance of shoving it in Leonard's face about our updated attire, I would rather go to a restaurant with Penny and Bernadette. Especially since I have something important to talk about with Penny that, for some reason, slipped my mind till now."
Howard agreed and said he would call the girls to see what their opinion was to eating lunch with them. As Howard was calling, he started to pack his things and tidy up his desk. He finished as Howard got off the phone.
"We're in luck, the girls were together as I was calling Bernadette, so I didn't have to make two different phone calls and they both agreed to meet us up for lunch. We just have to send them the address and they would meet us there." Howard filled them in.
"Then, since we're not eating here, lets find a good restaurant to go to." said Raj.
It took them a while, but Raj found one that was only a few miles from CalTech, and it highly recommended by some of the colleagues and to top it all off it passes Sheldon's list of clean places to eat. They texted the girls the location before heading out to Howard's car and left.
