Prologue

Mere hours have passed after the sun began to rise over the conclusion of a colossal brawl to the death. San Fransokyo was left an barren wreckage of dust and metal, where so many people lost homes and even friends and families. However, the results could've worsen had it not been for the united efforts of the Big Hero 6 and the mysterious king of monsters, Godzilla.

Somewhere, a slow figure, concealed in a light brown hooded coat, took steps and scanned about the wasteland, not afraid to intrude in otherwise forbidden areas. The wind was strong enough to blow at the figure's grey trenched cloak. The person halted and turnt their head up as they took a long and firm stare at what they were looking for: a large chunk of stone-grey reptilian flesh stained with a blackened red, hanging upon a sharp, bent and rusted rail.

The figure lifted their arms, reached up and high with pure white gloves, and finally took hold of the chunk, slowly and with care. With a firm grip, the sample was slowly peeled off and its greasy texture stuck to the hand like weak glue.

"The smallest of things can make the greatest of differences," the figure's voice was revealed, a grim yet feminine sound.

The figure then reached into within her dirty jacket, and produced a small jar. Swiftly, she popped it open before carefully placing the sample into the content and snapping it shut. She then pulled out a touchscreen phone, switched it on, and dialled down a concealed number.

"Hello?" she asked.

"Have you found anything at the site?" a calm, sinister and elderly voice spoke on the other line.

"Yes, Jonah," the woman answered. "I've found a piece."

"Good," the man complimented. "I'll send a helicopter to pick you up without anyone noticing or suspecting."

"Thank you sir," she nodded before ending the call and looking back at her little trinket.

"Let the games begin..." the woman smirked.

Good Evening, This is United World News at Seven o'clock with Martin Stevens. A mere six months after the shocking monster battle between the ancient creatures dubbed 'Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organisms' in Honolulu, Hawaii and San Fransokyo, California has left mankind in awe and shock. However, new information on the event was discovered at the scene with corpses of the deceased monsters present as well as what's claimed to be the remains of a scorched nest of unknown origins which may be linked to the aforementioned kaiju. Also at the scene was current head of the Monarch organisation, Dr. Ichiro Serizawa, whom the UWN network attempted to interview to obtain knowledge regarding the dead 'MUTO's as well as the surviving monster, recently referred to as 'Godzilla' and its current whereabouts. However, he inclined to answer any questions on the matter for now. In other news, NASA have detected a strange anomaly that has just appeared within the outer reaches of space. Scientists are still trying to figure out the situation as the anomaly seems to be growing every day and slowly entering our solar system. But could it be a link to alien life, or something greater? Only time will tell...
