Chapter 1: It Begins

Hey everyone I'm back with a new story for you all. This one came at the suggestion of my buddy in ideas kival737101. Once I figured out the details it just clicked. The very first ever My Little Pony and Trollhunters crossover! I hope you like it. Please Review and Enjoy.

It was early in the morning in the city of Canterlot as the sun was just beginning to rise. Everything seemed peaceful until there was noise at the canal under the bridge where two large creatures were clashing.

One had dark skin and armor while the other had two horns and silver armor. These were Bular and Kanjigar.

"Yield Kanjigar." Bular ordered.

"A Trollhunter never yields. I'd rather die." Kanjigar said.

"Terms accepted." Bular grins as he rushed towards Kanjigar and delivered a series of punches and kicks but Kanjigar evades them all and delivers a powerful punch to the face knocking Bular down the canal.

As Bular picks himself up Kanjigar pointed his sword at his face. "You're turn Bular, yield." He threatens when the sun rose over the bridge hurting Kanjigar.

Using this opening Bular delivers two kicks to Kanjigar's face knocking his sword into the light.

Reaching for it, the light stung Kanjigar as he defended himself.

"Nowhere to run Trollhunter, give me the amulet." Bular said as Kanjigar raced up the hill and jumped under the bridge with Bular right behind him. Kanjigar tired to fight him off but Bular eventually pinned him down with the sunlight starting to turn his face to stone causing him to scream in pain.

Bular laughs as he raised his claw attempting to strike him down but Kanjigar grabs his arm and holds it out towards the light making Bular scream in pain as he lets go and steps back to see Kanjigar standing.

"It's me or the sun, either way you're doomed." Bular said drawing his two swords.

"No. The amulet will find a champion. We will stop you and your master. I may end, but the fight will not." Kanjigar said as he crossed his arms together and stepped towards the edge of the bridge causing Bular to gasp as he falls over the edge turning completely to stone. All of him, except a small silver and blue amulet.

Bular tried to go out and grab it but the sun was high in the air forcing him to roar in anger before retreating.

In another part of Canterlot, in a residential neighborhood, an alarm clock went off causing a figure to wake up and groan. Appearing out of bed was a teenage boy with medium length dark blue hair, grey skin and blue eyes. This was Dusk Shadow.

Getting out of bed he heads puts on a white t-shirt, a blue jacket with a cutie mark of a black sword and navy green pants before walking past a door that said. "Late Night at the office. Sleeping in."

Sighing Dusk Shadow made his way down to the kitchen and started cooking. Looking at his laptop he looked up a recipe and made three lunches before making some French toast.

Opening the door, he saw a woman with orange hair and grey skin sleeping, this was his mother, Amber Midnight.

"Get some rest mom." Dusk said softly before putting his breakfast down and making his way to the garage where his bike was leaning against the wall.

Opening the garage, Dusk was greeted by another teen. He had short red hair, tan skin and green eyes on his shirt was a cutie mark of a red hurricane. This was Nova Tempest, his best friend.

"We're late for school Dusk." Nova said putting on his helmet.

"Sorry Nova, busy with the lunches. One for me, one for mom and one for you." Dusk said taking out a lunch bag.

"Ooh Meatloaf." Nova smiles. "Way to go chef Dusk."

"What can I say cooking is my thing." Dusk said before looking at his watch. "Oh no it's 8:00 am!"

"We're gonna be late!" Nova said as they hopped on their bikes and pedaled.

"Take the canal it'll save us 5 minutes!" Dusk said.

"The canal?" Nova said surprised.

"Come on Nova, don't you ever want a little excitement?" Dusk as he jumps down into the canal. "Come on Nova!"

"Dusk…Shadow." A voice said from a pile of rubble.

"Huh?" Dusk said looking towards it as Nova rides in. "Hey Nova, did you hear that voice?"

"What voice?" Nova asks.

"Dusk Shadow." The voice said again, this time louder.

"That! That pile of rocks knows my name." Dusk said startled.

"It's a pile of K-spar and minerals don't talk. There's gotta be a walkie-talkie in here somewhere." Nova said when Dusk notices a blue light from under the rocks.

Reaching under he finds a silver and blue amulet. "Huh? Looks like an amulet. Hello? I'm listening." Dusk said holding it up to his ear when suddenly he heard the school bell ring in the distance.

"School!" Dusk and Nova panicked.

"Come on! If we don't hurry Vice Principal Luna is gonna let us have it!" Dusk panics.

"Aw Luna. I don't know who's hotter you or Celestia." Nova sighs.

"Nova!" Dusk yelled snapping him out of it.

"Sorry!" Nova said as they hopped on their bikes and pedaled away. Little did they know a creature with 6 eyes was watching them from a manhole.

"It chose a human?" It said in shock.

At Canterlot High School, Dusk and Nova were in history class with their teacher Mr. Walter Strickler. As he was discussing the Archimedean War, but Dusk's mind was on something else, a girl with long purple hair and white skin, this was Rarity.

"Dusk?" Strickler said getting his attention.

"Sir?" Dusk asks turning to see he was right next to him.

"Do you agree with the war tactics as I've described?" He asks.

"Uh yes." Dusk said.

"Excellent, which ones?" Strickler asks.

"The ones that won." Dusk said causing the entire class to laugh as the bell rang.

"Alright class chapters 4 and 5. Dusk, may I have a word?" Strickler asks as the class left. "Dusk, you're distracted. You fell asleep in the first half of class and then your attention seemed to wander for the rest of it."

"Sorry I didn't get a lot of sleep last night." Dusk sighs.

"I know it's just you and your mother and you want to help her." He said.

"She's just tired Mr. Strickler, she's been working double shifts at the law firm." Dusk said.

"I believe I'm overdue for a conversation with her. Have her call me." Strickler said writing his number on a sticky note. "And if you need any help please stop by my office."

"Alright." Dusk sighs.

"And Dusk if you fancy Miss Rarity, I submit that talking to would be much more effective than staring at." Stricker smirks as Dusk walks out of the room.

Reaching into his pocket he looks at the amulet. "Come on say something." Dusk said shaking it when suddenly a hand smashes in front of the lockers startling him. "Whoa!"

Looking over he saw a girl with light blue skin and rainbow-colored hair laughing, this was Rainbow Dash.

"Not funny Rainbow Dash." Dusk sighs.

"You should have seen your face." Rainbow laughs as Dusk pockets the amulet. "So Dusk you coming to the Soccer Game next week?"

"Wouldn't miss it." Dusk said as they high fived.

In the cafeteria, Dusk and Nova were sitting together as Dusk gazed at Rarity from across the lunchroom.

"Dude this is just sad. Go up and talk to her." Nova said.

"What would I even say?" Dusk asks.

"Well she likes fashion maybe you can start with that." Nova suggests.

"I don't know anything about fashion." Dusk said but before Nova could say something the atmosphere in the room went cold.

Everyone turned to see a girl with red and yellow hair walk in with an evil smirk on her face, this was Sunset Shimmer.

"Watch out Dusk, dragon lady heading in our direction." Nova whispers as Sunset walked up to their table.

"Hey boys, what's to eat?" Sunset asks leaning in.

"Uh Meatloaf." Dusk said nervously.

"Hmm smells pretty good." Sunset said.

"Thanks, uh I made it this morning—" Before Dusk could finish Sunset takes a bite out of it.

"Hmm not bad. Thanks for the food." Sunset said before taking the rest of his lunch away.

Fist tightening Dusk lifted his head up causing Nova's eyes to widen. "Oh no, Dusk don't do it, it's not worth it."

"You shouldn't treat us like this." Dusk said aloud causing everyone in the cafeteria to gasp as Sunset turns towards him with a glare.

"Excuse me?" Sunset said as her minions Snips and Snails grabbed Dusk and pushed him towards her. "Do you know who you're talking to?"

"Y-Yeah I'm talking to you. Go ahead do whatever." Dusk challenges.

"You're asking for a beating?" Sunset asks.

"You may have this whole school wrapped around your fingers but sooner or later you'll graduate and then you'll realize you have nothing. Once high school ends so does your evil reign in 20 years you'll be working at a fast food restaurant while the rest of us are off living our lives." Dusk said as Sunset narrows her eyes.

A few seconds later Dusk was thrown to the ground and Sunset smashed his lunch all over his face.

"Let me tell you something hero, nobody cares about heroes anymore. So, fall in line or get lost." Sunset said before walking away.

As Sunset walked out everyone went back to eating their lunch while Dusk just sniffles trying to hold back the tears when suddenly a hand offered him a handkerchief. Looking up he saw Rarity holding it out for him.

"Here."

"Uh thanks." Dusk said taking it.

"Are you alright? She didn't hurt you, did she?" Rarity asks

"I'm fine really." Dusk said wiping his face when Nova runs over.

"Dusk what were you thinking? Talking back to Sunset Shimmer, that was insane." Nova said.

"She's been pushing us around like we're her slaves someone had to say something." Dusk said.

"I thought that was really brave." Rarity smiles.

"R-Really?" Dusk asks blushing.

"Very much so, you're one of the few people I've ever seen to stand up to her. That took a lot of courage." Rarity said.

"Thanks, so uh—" Before Dusk could finish Rarity grabbed a flyer and handed it to him.

"Do you like Shakespeare?" Rarity asks.

"Uh yeah why?" Dusk asks taking the form.

"We're looking for more boys to try out for the school play Romeo and Juliet you should stop by." Rarity said before standing up and walking out.

As Dusk walked to the bathroom to wash away the food someone popped up behind him and covered his eyes.

"Guess who?" A female voice said startling Dusk at first, but he calms down.

"Let's see is that my friend Pinkie Pie?" Dusk asks as the hands move to reveal a girl with puffy pink hair. "Hey Pinkie what's up?"

"I just wanted to give you a little snack. Figured since Sunset Shimmer ruined your lunch you might want to eat something." Pinkie said holding out a cupcake.

Smiling Dusk takes it and eats it. "Thanks Pinkie, you always know how to put a smile on my face."

"I could say the same to you. Just try not to lose your lunch too often. You mom would kill me if she found I out I gave you nothing but sweets." Pinkie said causing Dusk to chuckle.

"Deal." Dusk said as Pinkie skips away happily. Dusk was about to leave when he heard movement in the bathroom. Walking inside he saw all the gym showers were on he was about to check into that when he heard the school bell ring.

Turning around to leave he didn't notice a shadowy figure was hidden in the steam.

After school, Dusk and Nova were pedaling home. "Oh man dude you actually got her to talk to you!" Nova smiles. "I mean Sunset nearly wiped the floor with you, but it wasn't so bad. At least your mom is a lawyer."

A car pulls out of the driveway to reveal Amber Midnight. "Hey boys."

"Hey mom. You gonna be out all night?" Dusk asks.

"Sadly yes, lots of cases to work on." Amber said.

"Okay well don't forget your dinner." Dusk said as Amber held out the bag.

"Thank you." Amber smiles.

"And try to use the oven." Dusk reminds her.

"Dusk, I'm so lucky to have a son like you, but there must be things you'd rather do than look after me." Amber said.

"Nope." Dusk said looking at the note Strickler gave him before hiding it.

"Bye boys." Amber said before driving off.

Heading back to his house Dusk throws his backpack on the coach and looks at the amulet when suddenly it started to glow.

"Uh hey I'm Dusk, but I guess you kinda knew that. Come on say something." Dusk said when suddenly he heard movement from the basement. Heading towards the staircase he heard chattering down below. "Racoons." Dusk growls as he grabs the broom.

Walking downstairs he looked for any sign of the vermin when from out of the shadows a 6-eyed stone monster with four arms appeared. "Master Dusk!" He smiles scaring the living daylights out of him. "We have found you! My name is Blinky."

Dusk pulls back to swing the broom but ended up hitting something else. Turning around he saw an eve larger stone creature behind him. "Hi." It said causing Dusk to scream. "It's Aaarrrgghh. Three Rs."

"Who are you?!" Dusk asks backing up in fear and ends up touching the hot furnace.

"Master Dusk, you have been chosen. The Amulet of Daylight challenges you to ascend to the most sacred of offices." Blinky said.

"Orifices? What's that?" Aaarrrgghh asks.

"Offices, it means responsibility. Unknown to your kind there is a secret world, a vast civilization of trolls lurking beneath your feet. Hidden from view." Blinky explains.

"Tr-Trolls?" Dusk asks.

"Yes, Trolls. And Master Dusk it is now your charge to protect them. For you, Master Dusk Shadow are the Trollhunter." Blinky said.

Immediately all this information became too much for Dusk and he faints in front of them.

"Is that a yes?" Aaarrrgghh asks.

The next morning, Dusk wakes up startled. Reaching for his pocket he trials dialing Nova but there was no answer. "I need to talk to someone about this." Dusk pauses to think who he could possibly trust and then it came to him.

At Canterlot High, Mr. Strickler was in his office when Dusk knocks on the door. "Mr. Strickler, can I talk to you?"

"You alright Dusk? You don't look so well." He asks. "Have a seat."

"You would not believe what happened to me, but I'm telling you it's the truth so please believe me." Dusk said nervously.

"Calm down Dusk. I believe you, now what's wrong?" Strickler asks.

"Well uh you see these two things came by my house last night and they said they were tr-trainers." Dusk said.

"And that has you so concerned?" Strickler asks.

"Well they were really weird." Dusk walks to the window to see a flyer for the Romeo and Juliet play. "They're acting trainers." Looking out the window he saw Sunset Shimmer sitting outside and glaring at him causing him to cringe.

When Mr. Strickler looks out the window, he immediately thinks he has an idea.

"Dusk I think I know what your problem is. It's like I told you yesterday, you have a lot on your shoulders. Too much in my opinion for someone your age and I think this opportunity is causing you anxiety. I know you want to be there for your mother, but it's like a great poet once wrote. Do good for you or you're no good for anyone." Mr. Strickler said as the bell rang.

"Thanks for the advice. I like talking to you." Dusk said leaving the room, but when he did Strickler noticed the amulet peeking out of his backpack causing his eyes to widen.

That night, Dusk was sitting on the porch looking at the amulet.

"Something about is odd, why don't you stop stalling and show me what it is." Dusk said.

Suddenly the amulet started to glow and words appeared around it. "What the? For the glory of Merlin, daylight is mine to command." Dusk read aloud.

Suddenly a bright blue light engulfed him as a silver armor, the same one that Kanjigar wore fitted him and the sword appeared in his hand. "Whoa."

Meanwhile, at the canal, a car pulled up and Strickler walked down towards the pile of rubble where Dusk found the amulet.

"It's been taken. You failed. You let it go. Your father will be displeased." Strickler said as Bular walked up behind him.

"Whoever holds the Amulet of Merlin, I shall destroy him, just as I have done with every single one of them." Bular said.

"Worry not, you brute. I know where to find it. I believe the amulet has found its champion." Strickler said with glowing yellow eyes.
