(A/N) As if Lloyd hasn't suffered enough, I gotta go write some angst.

Lloyd was too close to the edge. But still, he leaned further, to the chasm between buildings. The wind ruffled Lloyd's hair, as he sat down on the edge with a sigh.
"So, this is where you come to hide?"
"And yet, you still found me."
"Eh. More like followed." Kai shrugged, keeping his distance , but looking like he would like nothing more than to yank Lloyd away from the edge.
"Thanks for the vote of confidence."
"Lloyd." Kai sighed. "We're worried, me and the other ninja, you've become distant, you smile less."
"Well maybe I've finally realised the world isn't all sunshine and rainbows. I mean, I've got the body, might as well act the age to go with it."
"Lloyd you're still a chi-"
"Am I? I stopped being a child the day I became the green ninja." Lloyd laughed bitterly. "Did you even like me before then?"
"Lloyd-"
"No, seriously. I was just some snot-faced brat, and... and you guys hated me." Lloyd's voice cracked. "Then I get a shiny new destiny and suddenly, I'm important."
"Lloyd, we never liked you because you could save us. We loved you because you were a snot-nosed brat. We loved you, for you." Kai said pleadingly, moving slowly forward as Lloyd had unconsciously leaned further to the edge.
"Then why couldn't you let me be me?" Lloyd stood in aggravation, fists clenched, shocking Kai to a standstill. "You pushed me into the role of the green ninja." Lloyd had started to cry by now. "Because you needed someone to save you." Kai winced, realising his mistake. "Even after I defeated the overlord, I was pushed into this role of a hero that was imagined for me. Well, I don't want to be told who to be anymore, or what to do, THIS TIME I'M GOING TO DO WHAT I WANT!" Lloyd's mouth was stretched into a smile, his eyes alight in madness as he turned around to walk the last inch over the edge.
"LLOYD!"
