AN: This originally started life as a Kagami/Adrien fic and somehow morphed into this...don't ask.

Gabrielle Agreste looked at the design in front of him and resisted the urge to frown.

It wasn't a bad design by any stretch of the imagination and certainly not a bad design for a ten year old girl. Or a bad drawing for that matter.

It was just...when he hoped that at least one of his grandchildren would be a designer, he never envisioned this.

"What do you think Grandfather?" Emily asked with a smile.

Gabrielle idly wondered what had possessed Emily to design such a thing. Weren't little girls supposed to be sugar and spice and all things nice? She didn't look like the type to design this way, with her long black hair and green eyes.

"It's very...functional," he said after what felt like an eternity and Emily smiled. "I'm not really the best person to ask. What do your parents think?"

Was it bad that he hoped they didn't approve?

"They think I have a talent," Emily said, her eyes twinkling happily and Gabrielle resisted the urge to sigh. Of course they did. They had happily supported and encouraged their other children and their interests. Why would Emily's choices be any different?

Gabrielle looked down at the design once more. It was hardly the elegant design he had hoped to see from his granddaughter when he paid for her first art class ("A gift," he had insisted. "A birthday present from Grandfather Agreste")

And he had been delighted that three of his four grandchildren (Barring Dorothy, or Dot as his son kept calling her. Apparently it was some kind of pun or something. He didn't get it.) enjoying drawing.

"I would have thought you would have been like your mother and designed clothing. Designs to fit the human form and it's wide variety of expressions," Gabrielle said and Emma snorted with amusement.

"Clothes are boring!" Emma complained. "You put them on and take them off. Tanks on the other hand are sexy death machines. Sexy, mobile death machines on tracks with armour and a big gun," she gestured to her design. "This one, for example has a one-twenty millimetre calibre gun and a twelve point seven co-axial machine gun on the turret," Emma explained. "A full NBC suite-"

Gabrielle had no idea what an NBC suite was, but it was probably a useful feature.

"-explosive reactive armour plating and an autoloader with a smart round selector, like those found on the latest Lerlec tank upgrades."

He supposed he should be happy. At least ONE of his grandchildren was a designer and those art and design classes were paying off. But...WHY did it HAVE to be designing tanks instead of clothes?

AN: Fun fact, I based this off of something I used to do for fun.
