It was one of those slow days at the guild. Absolutely nothing was happening. The request board was nearly bare and those present were just lazing around. Gray hated these days. He was bored out of his mind and so sleepy he could barely even keep his eyes open, not to mention properly fend off Juvia, who's been stuck to him like glued on for hours now.

He couldn't think of anything interesting to do, couldn't even pick a fight with Natsu because the pink-head was fast asleep. Normally Gray wouldn't consider this a hinderance and amuse himself by either doodling on the dragon slayer's face, but this time he couldn't even do that. Lucy was leaned against Natsu and asleep as well. And Gray wasn't so brave as if to wake Lucy with his antics.

Natsu wouldn't think twice about it, he would happily draw whatever on Lucy's face, but Natsu never really got to feel the full extent of Lucy's wrath. No matter what the idiot pulled, she's never as violent with him as with Gray. Gray had seriously lost count of how many times Lucy had sent him flying just because he'd come near her without his clothes on. All Natsu got for being all over her without her clothes on was a slap across the face.

It wasn't exactly fair, but it was expected. Lucy was in love with the fire-breathing moron, after all. What she saw in him, Gray would never understand.

Natsu was mostly oblivious to it all and even though Gray knew that Natsu's feelings for the blonde run just as deep as hers for him, he still felt bad for Lucy.

Gray had at one point had feelings for Lucy, too. Okay that wasn't entirely honest. He'd had it pretty bad for her for a pretty long while. He just never could find the courage to do something about it. Lucy had this unapproachable air around her when it came to romantic matters. Every time he came even close to having a moment with her, she found a way to back off. It was almost embarrassing how long it took him to realize why she did that. But when he'd finally figured out that Natsu was the reason, Gray had backed off.

Now he saw Lucy as his little sister, his interest having shifted almost entirely to the water mage, currently plastered against his left side. Oh, he still found Lucy attractive, probably more than was healthy, but that was it. He'd been on a team with her and Natsu long enough to know that nothing could come between those two. If only they would realize it, too.

Or maybe they did.

Gray watched almost fascinated as Natsu slowly woke up, his face scrunching up, a yawn escaping from his mouth as he opened his eyes. He was about to stretch, but froze when he realized that Lucy was asleep against him. A small, wonderous smile lit up his face, his eyes softened as he took in her sleeping features. A big calloused hand gently settled on her head and tangled in her golden locks. Lucy murmured something in her sleep and shifted closer to his chest.

Really, even Gray had to admit that they were adorable. Well, Lucy was adorable and Natsu wasn't as bad as he usually was when he was near her.

One day they'd get it, Gray was certain of it. That wasn't really a good thing, he realized abruptly. When they finally manage it to get together, he and the entire guild would probably have to watch them suck faces all the time. And really, that would be the pinnacle of disgusting.
