Chapter 1:

Adrien was walking through a forest. The sound of silence penetrated through the air.

He swallowed heavily, his hands surprisingly still while his arms felt like electricity was running through them.

For each step he took he somehow knew that this was where he would meet his end, he was going to die.

But still he kept walking, not by his own accord, of course, but step by step, as if something or rather someone else was in control. And off in the distance, beyond the trees and in front of him, he heard a hoarse voice.

"No sign of him… My lord." The air became brittle and tension cut through the forest like a knife, the whole forest waited in anticipation, they waited for their Lord's anger and then in turn punishment.

Adrien felt a breeze pass over him, it ruffled his hair and kissed his cheek. He took a deep breath in and tried to crush the tightness in his chest. Another voice, who was high and raspy began to speak.

"I thought he would come..."

Adrien continued to walk, and with each step he took, the sound echoed across the forest, slowly but steadily it grew louder, and finally reached the group's ears.

Now, Adrien could see the man to which the servants followed, if that was to say he was a man at all. Adrien could not see his face but from behind the man's skin was pale as snow, and greyish blue veins decorated his body.

As Adrien continued to walk, the man turned around, he had heard Adrien's crackling footsteps. What greeted Adrien was a snake-like creature, the creature's nose was hardly a nose at all, flatten with two slits and his eyes were scarlet red. An ugly sight indeed, but he knew that this man had something about him that was different, he knew he did. His legs stopped moving, he glanced down at them and they were dressed in this strange fabric and he began to notice the rest of his attire was unlike anything he had seen before.

Interesting.

"Harry, no! What are you doing here?!" Adrien glanced over to the place the voice came from. A large bearded man was tied against a tree like a dog, he was unnaturally large and his voice was in anguish. He felt a rush of warmth as well as his chest tightening. One of the snake man's servants shouted and that immediately silenced him.

The creature observed him coldly.

"Harry Potter." The voice was filled with hatred and sadistic glee made his eyes glow.

Adrien stood in front of them all, absolutely still but eyes staring back into creatures resilient.

"The Boy Who Lived. Come to die." The man's eyes were empty but there was a flicker of amusement or satisfaction that made them less cold, less monster-like and perhaps more human if not the circumstances. However, Adrien had seen his fair share of terrifying men but this man was by far the least human.

Adrien felt something weird, an odd sort of feeling, what was this feeling? As he looked upon the creature, whose torn, black robes rippled and whose body which could be compared to that of a carcass, he realized what the emotion was. Pity.

Pity for the man that had gone so far to ensure his immortality, not knowing what the true costs were and blind to them even now. Pity for the boy who was just like himself but completely different. Pity for the man who was afraid of death.

Adrien felt the tension rise for every second until his eyes fluttered shut, he felt cold but steady. He heard a yell and then a green light blinded him.

"Young Master, it's time to wake up." the soft-spoken words caused his eyes to flutter open

Then he hissed and slapped his scar, it was burning as if a hot iron had just scalded his forehead. Immediately, Tanaka came over with a wet handkerchief in hand. Adrien took it from him and pressed it to his scar.

"Another headache? My lord." Adrien positioned himself in order to face his butler Tanaka better. The older man's face crinkled with concern but Arien paid no mind to it. His scar being irritated as of late has been a common occurrence. These dreams though have been new.

What could these dreams possibly mean? A boy or rather Adrien in that forest and faced that creature.

Adrien could see the man as if he was right in front of him. He removed the washcloth and shook his head.

They are merely dreams, just dreams…

"My lord, are you feeling well enough today?" Tanaka held his clothes of the day before him.

"Yes, I'm fine." Adrien sits up and grabbed them from his butler's hands.

"Thank you, Tanaka. I shall be downstairs in a few minutes, please allow me to get dressed."

"Of course, my lord." Tanaka smiled and bowed his head before he deflated back into his normal form. After the door shut, Adrien fell backward onto his soft bedding. He held the handkerchief against his scar and began to breathe.

Today wasn't going to be a good day, was it?
