Epilogue

Ashley sat at the dressing table in her new room and looked out the window overlooking the city. In the distance she could see her former house and just beyond that she saw the tall mountain like office buildings complete with the sparkling windows. Her step mother would be starting work shortly overseen by her Soft hearted step Sister Maya.

Trini had told her just a little bit before that the King Zordon would be returning from his trip. Wanting to dearly impress her grandfather she selected one of the loveliest dresses she had ever touched and had Trini help her into it. Trini had told her that this had been one of her mother's favorites and that she had debated long and hard about taking it with her when she had moved away from KO-35 in order to allow her daughter some sense of normalcy.

"I am glad my mother and I have similar tastes in clothing, but I do hope that the King will find favor in me as he did in his own daughter." Ashley nodded as Trini pulled her hair back.

"To not find favor in you would be a blind man's folly." Trini laughed, "You shine beauty from your inside out."

Ashley turned to look at her mother's closest friend, "Trini were you always this kind to my mother? Even when you found out that what you had thought was true was actually a lie?"

"I was a little mad at your mother when I found out that she was the princess but I had always had my suspicion because she came and went and never appeared if there was a royal around." Trini sighed as she finished by securing the necklace.

"Trini, you have helped me find my happiness but what about you? Do you have anyone who ever took your heart?" Ashley asked as she thought of Andros and the relationship that was sure to blossom between them.

"There was one young man, the tinker's son, his name was Billy. I guess now he is a full tinker but I have not seen him since he went to Aquitar many years ago." Trini sighed dreamily, "Maybe once you are settled I will go and see what has happened to him. I have a question do you know of anyone who makes my Niece happy?"

Ashley shook her head, "She never caught the fancy of anyone our age. If she wasn't with me then she was either working or helping her father."

Trini laughed, "Well she shall not be helping her father any longer. Once I finish advising you I will go to work with my brother in his shop and Cassie will come here as she is what I was to your mother."

Trumpets sounded and a short squat man came running through the door, "AiYiYi Trini the King is looking for you everywhere, he is eager for a report of how his kingdom has fared in his absence."

Ashley stood and followed Trini closely still unsure about meeting her Grandfather.

Trini curtseyed as she entered the great hall, "King Zordon, your absence has been greatly noted."

Zordon nodded as Trini entered the hall but seemed to look past Trini when he noticed the young woman following closely behind. Ashley stopped short feeling like the planets wise and great leader was looking into her very soul.

Trini nodded, "My King, may I present to you your Granddaughter…"

Zordon rose from his seat and reached out his hand, "My granddaughter is home at last. Welcome home Ashley."

Ashley took a deep breath, "You know who I am?"

Zordon laughed, "Of course Ashley, I watched you grow up inside the shadow of the palace. I wanted to reach for you every time I heard your laugh but I knew your mother's wish and I did not want to cause you the heart ache. I knew your trials and tribulations of course but I knew you were always protected.

A voice called out from the doorway, "Trini is that really you?"

Trini spun from her attention of the reunion of king and princess to be faced by a very familiar face.

Zordon laughed, "I found him on my travels and felt you had been alone long enough Trini."

Trini ran to the man who had once held her heart and gave him a long hug but stopped when she saw the young man by his side.

Billy smiled, "May I present to you my son Justin, he is learning my trade and before long will be quite the tinker."

Trini stepped back and nodded to the young man feeling slightly hurt, "I am glad you found happiness Billy."

Billy laughed, "I am a widower and I have been so for quite some time. Justin was only a very small boy when his mother was in a terrible accident with a merchant. Neither of them survived but I have brought up my son well and strong, only the thought of you kept me going because truly I never loved Rita.

Zordon stood up, "I have someone else I would like to introduce to however he appears to have gone missing."

Just then there was a giggle that Ashley knew was Cassie's. Cassie came walking in holding the hand of a strapping young man of about her own age.

Zordon couldn't help but laugh as well, "I knew you would find favor here TJ."

"You failed to tell me that there would be a pretty girl waiting for me right outside your palace gates." The young man laughed as he swung Cassie's arm back and forth.

"I have brought TJ here as well as a few others from Earth in order to increase our relationship with our Earth brothers and sisters." Zordon announced to which Trini nodded happy that her niece was no longer alone.

Cassie giggled, "Oh Aunt Trini you should know that father has found favor in someone as well, her name is Tanya and she just opened a new music shop right next to our cleaning business."

Ashley looked at TJ curiously before stepping out, "TJ do I know you?"

TJ looked up at the princess, "You are the Merchant's daughter Ashley aren't you?"

Ashley nodded, "Then you are indeed TJ the son of Zach and Aisha."

"We went to preschool together." TJ nodded with a laugh, "What a fancy to meet you here Princess."

Two people came shoving their way into the hall even though the doorway was plenty big enough for the two of them.

"The King has just gotten back I am sure he wants to be amused!" The older argued

"No the King will want me to organize a sporting event!" The younger Hispanic one argued back with a strong accent.

Ashley looked at the two odd people who were arguing it out in front of her grandfather.

Zordon laughed, "Rocky, Carlos, there is plenty of time for jokes and for sporting events we will be having a grand celebration because everything is finally right with my kingdom!"
