After the presumed death of the youngest Kiryuin daughter, Soichiro, replenished by his terror, headed to the dumps in order to pay his respects.
Encased in darkness, his sight diverges from reality, lost within the rage directed to his wife. Yet, that emotion is soon overshadowed by regret. His hopes of ensuring a healthy life for his daughters also came with consequences… Which he was never able to measure until now. He bares the same amount of responsibility than Ragyo, and for that, he would never be able to face himself.
Overridden, his senses indicate many things, sometimes he would feel the unnerving presence of a corpse, it's decomposed shape, it's putrid stench, it's withering texture. His progression is slow, fearing his next step will lead to his descent within his own flesh and blood. Accompanied, is his torment, by the swaying cries of a living corpse which only reflected to imagination.
Meanwhile, Ragyo Kiryuin had returned to the visible section of the manor, locked away in her office. She would fall before day if she didn't force herself into meaningless paperwork which she soon dropped too. She was lividly staring at a sky which will remain untainted if her experiments keep failing. It was the first time any tears had emerged from her alienated body as she hadn't felt the need to express emotions until this point. Her tears, obviously, were not directed towards her human daughter, or if it were, it would be by her anger for being born in a "weak" body.
What seemed like an eternity for Soichiro had passed in search of his daughter. Unconvinced of finding her but unable to return to the surface, he airs as a mere entity, displaying his silent wish of joining her. The growing cries turn him back to a reality, the one of desperation. Following the mirroring sound, he reaches to the side of a mound and finds the body. It was devoid of any warmth, staring blankly at it's killer. Screaming incomprehensibly at him, taunting him for his sin. Soichiro now believed to have given into insanity, even so, he could not leave her behind once again. Diverging from Orpheus' desire to gaze upon revival, he wrapped his spasming daughter in his lab coat, followed by her screams, a horror only existing in his imagination.
Now unaffected by her cries, Soichiro or what is left of him mentally reemerges to the surface. He is surprised to see that many of the staff had been alerted of his presence.
"How could they know where I was ? Where they waiting for me? Is this the end ?"
Afraid of facing repercussions for his rescue, he runs mercilessly, in the many corridors of a manor he once knew. Running from an enemy he could not even bare to look. A flashing multitude of colours blind his course, he treads over, protecting the child over his body.
"You'll never take her from me again !" cried Soichiro.
"Take what dear? a worthless corps-"Ragyo stopped as she heard another cry from the inside of her husband's coat.
Ragyo seizes the covered child in a careful, protective position, pushing the protesting father aside. She removes the coat, revealing her daughter, crying in the agonizing pain caused by the overtaking life fibers. She expresses a faint but significant smile, a smile of pride.
"Magnificent" she whispered as she took the child away.
