Oliver's POV
He fidgeted under the dark gaze unsure how to answer. It seemed even Al Sayf knew that Al Owal was looking to court him. Was he really that oblivious?
Both alphas were a good deal older than him. Ra's more so than Al Owal. Age didnt really bother him though. They both had a calming aura that put Delta back down where he was supposed to be. If it came down to it both men could beat him in a fight. So he wasnt too worried about killing them when he had a nightmare. Thanks to Hudu the nightmares were slowly becoming less frequent.
Still, it surprised him that one person much less two were interested in courting him. He didnt really think he was worth their time.
A sharp strike to the back of his head made the young omega wince. When had Al Sayf moved? No matter that. Why did he hit him?
Ap Sayf pointed his finger to Oliver's face, "Don't think like that," he made to say something but didnt get the chance, "Your thoughts are written all over your face. It wouldn't be noticeable to most but I can have centuries on you."
Oliver took a deep breath to calm himself before he said, "Our liege was the one who asked to court me."
Al Sayf froze halfway back to his chair. It was obvious he had not been expecting that as an answer. What else could Oliver had said? It was true. Ra's wanted to court him but Oliver was unsure of himself.
Al Sayf slowly lowered himself into his chair as he questioned, "Are you certain? Did he actually ask you if he would court you? Initiates have been known to pull cruel pranks on each other like this."
Oliver sighed, "He asked me after I got my arm tended to. I was even given permission to call him by Ra's instead of my liege. Only later did I find out that Al Owal wanted to court me as well. That he was waiting until I was made a full member because of League Law."
Al Sayf sighed, "Of course he did. That man has absolutely no patience in these things. You should be honored however Al Sahim. He has never wanted to court or bond with someone before. Even with Warithe's mother. It's surprising he would take you in now. With your mind as it is there is the chance that later you will want to leave. As long as you hold to our ways he may just give you leniency to leave."
Oliver shook as head as he said, "I do want to find out more about why I was in the water. But I could never stay away from the League for long. Nanda Parbat has become home."
Al Sayf shook his head almost fondly as he said, "Our liege has chosen well in you. Think about what you want and if Ra's is the one you want. Or if you'd rather wait for Al Owal and try to in courting him. Now out with you. I need to go through my katas and you need to think about my words."
Oliver stood and almost made it to the door when he stopped. Taking a deep breath he said over his shoulder, "Thank you Al Sayf."
Oliver spent the next several hours pondering the alpha's words. Did he really want Ra's to be his alpha? What did he want from the alpha?
After nightfall, he was laying out in the field of just beyond the protective walls. There was a handful of trees and flowers that he liked to lay under. The flowers masked one's scent making it the perfect place to hide if you didnt want to be found.
Again the thoughts of what he wanted from Ra's circled in his mind. There were many things he wanted in life currently. Most of them revolved around his past and meeting his family. That was something he wanted but not in his current state.
In his current state with very little of his memories, he would only hurt them. His best bet would be to see how much of his memories returned with time before trying to meet with them.
What did he want from the alpha besides the chance to meet his family? Love? Kindness? That was a given.
Staring up at the sky he just didnt know. All he wanted was love and acceptance. That would be a given in any relationship. Then again there were the sickos who thought omegas were beneath alpha. That they should be nothing more than bed warmers. Ra's had proved himself not to be that kind of person.
Footsteps drew his attention away from his thoughts. Carefully he sat up just enough to see who was coming. To his surprise, it was Ra's coming out of the enclave. Oliver froze hoping that he wouldn't catch the movement. Grey eyes however immediately fell upon his hiding spot.
Ra's questioned with a growl, "Who's there?"
Oliver sighed knowing he couldn't hide if the man already knew he was here. He called out, "It's just me, Ra's."
The tension left Ra's shoulders as he recognized the voice. He asked carefully, "Do you want me to leave?"
Oliver pushed himself so that he was sitting. Ra's could just barely see him over the flowers and grass. For a moment they just stared at each other blue-grey clashing against grey.
Then Oliver stood as he said, "You can join me if you like."
Surprise and the smallest spark of hope flared in the dark eyes. Then Ra's to his surprise did just that joined him in the grass. It was surprising he didnt think someone in the alpha's position would do such a thing.
Ra's asked not looking at him but at the night sky, "Who told you? I know one of the older alphas must have mentioned it. The reason why I have not approached you since I asked to court you."
Oliver gave a small chuckle relaxing ever so slightly as he said, "Both Al Owal and Al Sayf may have mentioned it. The weight of what you were asking didnt hit me until later."
Next to him, the alpha stiffened. Carefully hidden but still, there was fear in his entire posture. Did he think Oliver was going to take back his permission now? If he did that would hurt Ra's more than if Oliver had straight up said no in the beginning.
Even with so little memories, he knew that wouldn't be right. He agreed to the courting so at the very least he should give it a chance. If it worked out he found a bondmate. If it didnt then it didnt. At least though he would give it a chance. Maybe find out why he found this man so relaxing to be around.
Oliver continued, "I have completely decided to let you court me. I know full well what this means. Though I still want to find out the truth of how I ended up in the water. There is still so much of my past that is a blank. I want answers. But I also want to see this courting through."
A warm smile crossed the elder man's face. Oliver realized how much younger he looked when he smiled. It was a smile that few within the League had ever seen. He felt lucky to be one of the few to see it.
