Songs: "High Hopes" by Panic At The Disco
Drawing the slumbering brunette close to him, Loki took in her flushed cheeks and let out a worry filled sigh. When he had returned from a brief visit to Asgard, the sound of Jane coughing her lungs out had frightened him to the point of causing him to stare in horror. In his vast lifetime, he had never once witnessed an individual succumb to this affliction so the sight of someone he loved dearly suffering from it made Loki feel helpless. How would he be able to live with himself if Jane died?
"You're staring."
His eyelids widened in sheer surprise as he took in the drowsy woman in his arms. She was awake! "Am I?" Relief flooded his senses as the thought of Jane surviving presented itself in his mind.
"Yeah.."
"I was just so worried about you, Jane. I wish you would let me take me to Asgard and let the healers tackle this menace."
Her lips quirked in amusement as the sight of Loki, the God of Mischief, worried over someone who had a common cold was adorable. "Loki, shh. Like I said earlier, it's just a cold. I promise I will be ok. So, please, try to calm down."
"But..-" The remainder of his protest was put on hold as the soothing warmth of Jane's palm worked its own special kind of magic; the touch causing his worry to dissipate momentarily.
"Never thought I'd see you worry this much over a cold," Jane murmured as she continued to slowly caress his face.
"Well, on Asgard, we do not have the illnesses that the people of Earth suffer from. So, when I came back and saw you bent over while making the most frightening sounds I've ever heard, I thought you were going to perish."
"Oh, Loki.. what am I going to do with you?"
"Be patient with me while I try hard not to panic whenever you have a 'cold'?"
"Mm, promise. Hey..," she paused as she drew her hand away to rub at the beginnings of a sore throat before continuing to talk. "would you mind going into the kitchen to make me some tea?"
The worry from earlier returned within seconds as he watched Jane rub at her throat. "Is something wrong?"
"I just need tea for my throat. That's all," she uttered with a faint groan as their brief conversation had done little to ease her throat.
"Oh. Hold on, then." Drawing his attention from Jane, Loki focused on the coffee table in front of the small couch the two of them were sitting on while summoning his magic. While he would usually make his way to the equally small kitchen to make tea, the thought of moving away from Jane in her current state was one that he immediately turned down. His little scientist meant the world to him and he wanted to make sure she was able to rest. Within minutes, a still steaming cup of tea appeared on the wooden table and was immediately scooped up by Loki. "There."
Watching with subdued awe as the cup of tea appeared out of thin air, Jane made a mental note to herself to properly show her appreciation as well as admiration for his skill. Wrapping a hand around the cup, Jane could not help smiling softly as the sight of Loki draw the cup up to his lips and blow on it softly in an attempt to cool the hot liquid down slightly. Thinking he was going to hand over the cup, Jane was proven wrong as she felt the rim of the green cup touch her lips.
"Drink it slowly," Loki said softly as he held onto the cup securely.
Sipping slowly as was directed, Jane's throat felt instantly better as the warm tea eased the painful sting. Watching as Loki placed the cup back onto the table before leaning back onto the couch, a sense of gratitude filled her as she proceeded to raise herself up and brush her lips along his cheek. The sight of his surprised smile greeted her as she leaned back against him.
"What was that for?"
"For taking care of me."
