"Chandler?" The voice rang into my head, making me turn around to face who owns the voice. "Can I ask you a question?" It was Joey speaking. He just turned into my roommate yesterday and he already made an awkward situation between him and my—our neighbor. The story sure was hilarious but weird to think about.

I gave him a confused look. "Okay, shoot." I muttered.

"Why is Monica off-limits?"

Shit. A wave of nervousness hits me hard. The longer it takes for me to process such question, the more I question myself. "Wh-hat do you mean, Joe?" I found myself requesting an explanation despite knowing what is the meaning of the question he gave. I just need time to gather lies and let him be tricked into it, not knowing the truth. He sighed, "Yesterday, before the day ends, you told me Monica—our hot, gorgeous neighbor—is literally off-limits. Is there, something I should know why she is?" I gulped.

At some point, sure I like her. We're friends. We confide to each other with how we truly feel deep down. We're just neighbors, friends, that all. I am sure that we will never cross that line. We may have never had a decent first impression, but I am glad that atleast she's still in my life. "Uh.." was all I could get out under my breath as I turn my gaze to the ground. My senses say that he is giving me a questioning look. "It's because.."

Quick, quick, quick, Bing. Think of a fast reason. To get yourself out of this.

"..You're not allowed to date anyone in the group." Great job, you outsmarted yourself, Bing. Although, it's quite true inside the group and it was a real rule, I think he doesn't buy it. Dear God, I hope this man does buy it. Soon, sweat starts to run over me.

As we stood in silence, I just reminisced a few memories of me together with her. Some of them were funny ones, some were depressing. Yet, whatever the problem was, it'll never change my perspective of her. Monica's sweet and kind, talented at cooking. She's pretty, beautiful, gorgeous. With her sapphire blue eyes and killer smile, it sometimes make my knees go weak, reminding me of how I got such great, beautiful friend. Understanding, great listener and advice giver.

I then looked at my friend, who seems to understand. "Oh, I never knew about that part." Thank God, he bought it. Of course, that wasn't the real reason, though, it was a quartet of it.

What was the real reason again?
