Chapter 24: Carnival Chaos

Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. Sorry about the wait. I had some trouble figuring out all the details but I think you'll like what I have planned. With this I can now do Camp Everfree next chapter. Please Review and Enjoy.

It was late at night at Sunset's place as she was in her pajamas watching TV on her couch with Torch lying next to her.

"I hope our game does well tomorrow. I really want us to go to Camp Everfree." Sunset said as Torch chirps asking if that was the only reason. "Well…maybe one other reason." Sunset blushes.

Suddenly Sunset heard a pounding at her front door startling them.

"Who can be up this late?" Sunset asks waking to the door and opens it to reveal Princess Twilight in front of her. "Twilight?!"

"Hey Sunset, long time no see." Twilight smiles.

"Oh my goodness, what are you doing here?" Sunset asks giving her a hug.

"I came to surprise you guys. When you wrote to me about the school carnival and Sonata being able to get her powers back, I got curious and wanted to stop by." Twilight admits. "But when I walked out of the portal, I ran into something unexpected."

"Unexpected? What?" Sunset asks when Twilight opens her hands to reveal Burpy causing her to gasp. "Burpy? Why isn't Luke with you?"

"I don't know, when I showed up Burpy was flying through the air and was acting crazy. What if something happened to him?" Twilight asks.

"Oh no, this isn't good uh I better call the others." Sunset said running to get her phone.

The next morning, Sunset and Twilight ran to CHS where Sonata, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy, Sci Twilight and Rarity were waiting for them.

"Twilight!" The other girls smile.

"Other me." Sci Twi said.

"Hey guys, long time no see." Twilight said when she noticed Sonata.

"Uh hey Twilight." Sonata said nervously.

"Hey Sonata." Twilight said equally nervous.

"Don't worry, she'll get used to you sooner or later." Sunset said.

"Anyway Sunset we got your call last night about Luke's disappearance but we couldn't find anything." Applejack said.

"He didn't even come home last night." Sonata said.

"We checked everywhere. The movies, his house, the library." Sci Twi listed.

"Even Sugar Cube Corner." Pinkie said eating a cookie.

"I hope he's alright." Rarity said concerned.

Deep within Luke's mind, Luke groaned as he started to wake up.

Looking around he saw the area around him resembled Canterlot High.

"Ugh what happened? Where am I?" Luke asks.

"Here, is where we begin to have a little fun." Luke turns to see the Goon Doc across from him. "You see, we're in your mind."

"My mind?" Luke said shocked.

"Yes and very soon it and you will belong to me, but first you're going to help me get that amazing power from those girls you protect." The Goon said.

"Don't you lay a finger on them!" Luke said.

"Me? Oh I won't do anything of the sort…but you will." The Goon grins as a screen appears in front of them.

Looking into it he saw the Rainbooms making their way to the carnival they didn't notice the Goon Slinger hiding on the roof, watching them.

"Before I enact my revenge on your family, I will use your body to absorb every drop of power I can from those girls and turn it into my own." Goon said.

"Leave them alone! They have nothing to do with this!" Luke said.

"Those girls have a strong power within them. I believe they call it the Elements of Harmony?" The Goon asks surprising him.

"How did you know?" Luke asks as the Goon looks into his mind.

"I see, these girls have powers from a third world, Equestria. Perhaps after I use it to conquer Slugterra I'll go to that world next." The Goon said.

"Get out of my head!" Luke snaps swinging his foot to kick the Goon away but it just grins taking the attack.

"Bad move." Goon grins as he grew exponentially in size until he was even bigger than Luke.

"You may be big, but you're gonna fall just like every other enemy I've faced." Luke said activating his wrist blasters.

At the carnival, Twilight was looking around for any sign of Luke with Burpy on her shoulder.

"See anything?" Twilight asks as Burpy chirps saying no. As Twilight looked in the opposite direction, she ended up bumping into Flash.

"Twilight?" Flash gasps.

"Uh bumped into again." Twilight blushed.

"It is you." Flash smiles helping her up. "What are you doing here?"

"I uh am here for the carnival." Twilight said.

"Oh man this is awesome. Well I'm almost done setting up the booth. You have to come back." Flash said.

"I-I'd love to." Twilight said before Burpy nudged her. "Oh uh have you seen Luke? We can't find him anywhere?"

"Sorry, but no." Flash shook his head.

"Well I'll be back soon Flash." Twilight said walking away.

"See ya Twilight." Flash said as she walked away.

In another part of the carnival, Applejack and Pinkie Pie were looking around for any sign of Luke.

"He's not by the front." Applejack said as Pinkie walked over with a stick of cotton candy.

"Or by the cotton candy." Pinkie said as she and Bubbles took a big bite out of it.

"Come on Pinkie Pie, we need to be looking for Luke." Applejack said when Knuckles chirped pointing down ahead where they saw the back of Luke walking away. "There he is."

Tossing the cotton candy away the two of them ran after him, but when they turned the corner he had disappeared.

"What the? I thought I saw him?" Applejack said.

"Let's see if he went to the booth." Pinkie Pie said as they walked away unaware the Goon Slinger emerging from the shadows.

"That's right. Lead me to the magic." Goon Slinger said.

As Sonata, Sci Twilight and Sunset were setting up the booth when Rainbow, Fluttershy and Rarity walked over with bags of candy for the game.

"Phew, you think this enough?" Rarity asks.

"I hope so, but what do we do with the candy that's left over?" Fluttershy asks.

"I'm sure Pinkie Pie will find a use for it." Rainbow smirks as they walk over.

"Speaking of." Sonata points.

"Hey guys any luck?" Sunset asks.

"We thought we saw him but we lost him." Applejack said.

"Uh girls." Fluttershy said softly noticing something.

"This doesn't add up. Where could Luke have gone?" Sci Twilight asks.

"Uh girls." Fluttershy said a little louder.

"I just wish we knew what happened." Rarity said.

"Girls!" Fluttershy said getting their attention.

"What's wrong?" Rainbow asks as Fluttershy points to see Goon Slinger standing across from them. "L-Luke?"

"Hello ladies." Goon Slinger said as the slugs whimpered at the sight of him.

Inside Luke's mind, Luke loaded Frost into his blasters and fired as he transformed Frost blew ice around the Goon's feet trapping it in place.

"Take this body stealer!" Luke loads a Rammstone and fires, but as it was about to deliver a punch the Goon broke out of the ice and knocks it away.

"You think you can defeat me?" Goon asks before charging forward and ramming into Luke knocking him to the ground.

As Luke picks himself up he saw the Goon open his mouth about to bite down on him when at the last second Luke rolled out of the way.

Loading a Grenuke slug he fired it but just at it transformed the Goon ate it.

"No!" Luke gasps causing the Goon to laugh.

"Foolish boy I grow stronger as I begin to take over your mind." The Goon grins when suddenly they heard the noise of a fuse.

Looking down the Grenuke exploded from inside the Goon making him spit the slug out.

"Guess you should start watching what you eat." Luke smirks.

"You Shanes are all such pests." The Goon growls.

As Twilight and Burpy turned a corner they saw the Goon Slinger across from the Rainbooms.

"What is that?" Twilight gasps while Burpy growls in anger.

"Luke what happened to you?" Sunset asks.

"Sorry but Luke is not with us at the moment." Goon Slinger said.

"Not with us, but you're right there." Sonata said when Sci Twilight notices the Goon Doc on his shoulder.

"Wait are we taking…to the slug on your shoulder?" Sci Twilight asks shocking them.

"Very perceptive. Yes, I needed a body and what better way to conquer Slugterra than with son of its very protector." Goon Slinger laughs manically.

"You monster!" Rarity said.

"Give Luke back his body!" Sunset said as all of them took out their blasters.

"Cute but that won't work against me!" Goon Slinger declared as his eyes glowed red and green energy emitted from his hands.

"Look out!" Sonata said as she tackled Sci Twilight down as the green blast wraps around the girls and started draining them of their magic.

"With your powers, I will destroy anything that stands in my way!" Goon Slinger declares.

As Sci Twilight and Sonata looked over they saw Twilight.

"Twilight catch!" Sonata said throwing a blaster to her.

"What do I do with this?" Twilight asks when Burpy leaps into it and gestures for her to fire. "Uh okay."

Twilight holds it up and fires. Flying forward Burpy transforms and rams into Goon Slinger stopping the process and sending some of the magic back into the girls.

"You!" Goon Slinger growls turning to Burpy. "I should have squashed you when I had the chance."

Suddenly he heard multiple blasts being fired. Looking over Crystal, Bubbles, Knuckles, Shield, Torch and Racer had transformed and smashed into the Slinger sending him smashing into the wall.

Groaning Goon Slinger looks up to see the Rainbooms loading their blasters.

"You're going down body stealer!" Rainbow said.

"Don't beat him too badly. It's still Luke's body." Rarity said.

"Even so we gotta get that slug off his shoulder." Sunset said.

"Foolish humans I already have more than enough of your powers." Goon Slinger grins as his body started to transform causing all of them to look in horror as Goon Slinger's hands turned to claws, his fangs grew, a black horn appeared out of his head and pale green flames erupted around him turning him into Nightmare Slinger.

"Twilights, I don't suppose either of you have an idea?" Fluttershy asks.

"Follow my lead." Twilight said.

A few seconds later, all of them were running for their lives with Nightmare Slinger right behind them.

"This is your idea?!" Rainbow asks.

"We gotta get it away from everyone!" Twilight said.

"Get to the soccer field!" Sci Twilight said as they ran as fast their legs could carry them.

In Luke's mind, Luke was being knocked to the ground by the Goon.

"I applaud your efforts, but it was all for nothing. My Goon Slinger has done his job." The Goon declared as the area around them glowed.

"What's happening?" Luke said when suddenly Sunset, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Rarity appeared next to him as magic spirits. Sunset was red, Applejack was orange, Fluttershy was yellow, Rainbow Dash was blue, Pinkie Pie was pink and Rarity was purple. "Girls?"

"Luke you're okay." Pinkie said.

"Yeah but what happened to you guys?" Luke asks shocked.

"That weird slug took some our magic." Sunset said.

"And once I finish all of you that magic will make the most powerful being in all of Slugterra." The Goon said getting their attention.

"Wow that is one big Slug." Fluttershy said.

"He's trying to take over my mind." Luke said.

"Well now you have us to help you darling." Rarity said.

"You humans are a plague, a plague that I will rid the world of." Goon declares as black and green energy grew around him and fired blasts of energy at them.

"Look out!" Rainbow said as they ran dodging the attacks.

"I don't suppose you have any ideas?" Fluttershy asks running next Luke.

"I've been trying to fight him off but nothing seems to work." Luke said.

"Luke, this your mind. He's just in it." Rainbow said.

"You can beat him. You're in control of what happens here." Applejack said.

"But he still has your magic." Luke said.

"We can't get rid of the magic from him, but we can give to something else." Sunset said as the girls look to Luke.

"Me?" Luke said shocked.

"Darling this is the only way to stop it." Rarity said.

Luke looks to the Goon and a determined look appeared on his face.

"I'll buy you some time but hurry." Luke said.

"Let's light it up Ladies!" Pinkie said as the 6 of them stood behind Luke as he charged towards the Goon.

At the soccer field, explosions went off as Nightmare Slinger was firing blasts of flames everywhere.

As Twilight and Sci Twilight hid behind the bleachers both of them looked over.

"I thought Slugs were sweet little creatures." Sci Twilight said.

"Apparently not all." Twilight said as an explosion went off. "I got an idea, do you have an extra pair of glasses?"

Sci Twilight opens her bag and took out a pair and almost immediately Twilight popped the lens out.

"What are you doing?" Sci Twilight asks as Twilight put on the glasses and tied her up to match hers.

"Follow my lead." Twilight said.

Nightmare Slinger was looking around for any sign of them when suddenly a Jellyish slug shot out hitting him in the face.

"Gotcha!" Rainbow laughs.

Looking up Nightmare Slinger growls as he creates a fireball and threw it at her.

"Can't you take a joke?" Rainbow asks ducking down.

Suddenly a rock hit the Nightmare Slinger in the back of the head.

"Hey over here!" Sci Twilight said waving her hands. "Come and get me!"

"Twilight what are you doing?!" Sunset gasps.

Creating lighting bolts Nightmare Slinger fires them at Sci Twilight who ducks out of the way when a second Sci Twilight ran out behind.

"Missed me!" She calls out.

"What?" Nightmare Slinger said looking over and firing a fireball at her forcing her to jump out of the way.

"Better luck next time!" Sci Twilight said running back out behind causing Nightmare Slinger to growl in anger.

Looking out the Rainbooms saw two Sci Twilights running in and out confusing Nightmare Slinger.

"Two of our Twilights?" Fluttershy asks.

"No Equestria Twilight and our Twilight are tricking him." Rarity said amazed.

"This is our chance." Applejack said loading a Hop Rock and firing it hitting Nightmare Slinger making him scream in pain.

"Alright girls, blast and move! Blast and move!" Sonata said.

While the two Twilights kept the Nightmare Slinger occupied the girls fired Slugs hitting the Nightmare Slinger every chance they got.

"ENOUGH!" Nightmare Slinger roars firing powerful gusts of wind knocking all the girls to the ground. "Nowhere to run now."

Nightmare Slinger was about to strike them all down when suddenly something stopped it.

Letting out groans of pain Nightmare Slinger was holding his body in pain.

"It stopped." Applejack said.

"Luke." Sunset said hopefully.

In Luke's mind, he loaded Joltz and an Arachnet slug into the dual blaster and fired causing both Slugs to spin creating electrowebs that wrapped around the Goon causing him to scream in pain.

"Girls how much longer?!" Luke asks.

"Just give us one more minute." Sunset said as the 6 of them started to glow.

"Too bad you won't last a minute." Goon said ripping out of the webs and rammed into Luke.

He was about to attack when Luke used his Slug Fu to stop the Goon inches from him.

"It can't be…Slug Fu?!" The Goon gasps.

"Oh yeah!" Luke yells pushing back knocking the Goon away. "Why don't I give you a better demonstration?" Loading Needle into his blaster Luke fires the Dirt Urchin at him.

The Goon was about to attack when Luke moved Needle out of the way allowing Needle to pelt the Goon with needles making him scream in pain.

Moving in Luke leaped on the Goon's head and punched it right in it's giant one eye making it fall to the ground.

"You are never getting my body!" Luke declares when from his eye the Goon blasts Luke off him knocking him to the ground in pain.

"Give up Shane, with this power nothing will stop me." The Goon said standing up.

"Luke now!" Sunset said.

"Sorry Goon, but you seem to be forgetting something. This is MY MIND and I'm still in control!" Luke declares as the spirits of Sunset, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Applejack held out their hands and pulled the magic out of the Goon.

"NO! This power is supposed to be mine!" The Goon yells struggling to keep it in.

"You could never hope to hold this power because it revolves around something you could never understand! The Magic of Friendship!" Luke yells as the girls focused the magic around Luke and a bright light engulfs him causing the Goon to scream.

In the real world everyone was watching Nightmare Slinger was screaming in pain as his body started to glow.

"What's happening?" Sci Twilight asks.

"So much magic!" Twilight gasps as the Goon was blasted off his body and Luke rose into the sky and the Goon was blasted off.

As the light dies down Luke's hair grew in length to resemble a mane, his skin turned to normal, a giant Shane logo appeared on his side like a cutie mark and a pair of pony ears grew out of his head.

"No way." Sonata smiles.

"I don't believe it." Applejack smiles.

"Luke Ponyed up." Fluttershy smiles.

"Awesome!" Rainbow said.

Sunset looked at the new Ponyed up Luke and boy did she like what she was seeing.

Luke turns towards the Goon who was struggling to get up.

"For too long you have innocent people and slugs suffer for your own desires. That ends now!" Luke said.

"You will never destroy me!" The goon roars.

"Destroy? No. I have something else in mind for you Goon." Luke said as a ball of light formed in his hands before he combined them and fired a beam at the Goon causing it to scream in pain as the darkness inside of it was obliterated.

When the light died down everyone looked to see the Goon had turned into a regular Boon Doc.

Chirping the Boon Doc looks around wondering what was going on.

Bending down Luke picks it up. "Don't worry little guy, it was all just a bad dream. You're among friends."

"Luke what are you doing?" Twilight asks.

"I'm reaching out to it, just like you and Sunset." Luke smiles.

All of them smile as Burpy hops onto Luke's shoulder and nuzzles him. "Good to see you too buddy. Say hello to our new friend, Shaman."

Burpy looks to Shaman who flinches a little afraid until Burpy hopped over to him and patted him on the back causing all the fear to go away.

Luke smiles at this when Rainbooms walked up to us.

"So…I guess this means I really am part of the Rainbooms now." Luke said gesturing to his pony ears and mane.

"Oh darling Equestrian magic is a good look for you." Rarity said.

"It is, but first things first. I believe this was yours." Luke held out his hands and most of the magic he stole from the Goon entered the girls giving them back their magic causing all but Sci Twi to pony up.

"Wow." Sci Twilight said amazed.

"Attention everyone, it is now time to begin the Canterlot High Carnival!" Celestia said over the speakers.

"We shouldn't keep everyone waiting." Sunset said.

"Race you to our booth!" Rainbow said as everyone but Luke and Sunset ran off.

"Thanks for everything." Luke said.

"Like I'd ever let anything happen to my favorite Slinger." Sunset said playfully nudging him.

"You're the best." Luke said kissing her on the cheek before running after the others.

Sunset smiles at this as a blush appears on her face before she runs after them.

The entire carnival went off and was a total hit. Everyone loved the Candy Lottery Toss and the fact that everyone loved the Pony Up looks was a huge help.

When Luke explained everything to Will needless to say he was blown away.

"So let me see if I have this right, you stole the Equestrian Magic that the Goon Doc stole from your friends and used the magic to cure it, but some of the Equestrian Magic is still in you?" Will said looking at Shaman.

"Do you not see the pony ears?" Luke asks pointing to his head.

"Wait until Eli hears about this." Will smirks.

At Flash's Dunk Tank booth, Snips and Snails were inside.

"Step right and see you can dunk Snips and Snails!" Flash calls out when Twilight walks over.

"Can I have a try?" Twilight asks.

Seeing her a smile formed on Flash's face as he hands her a ball.

Throwing the ball, it hit the target dunking them in the water.

"I did it!" Twilight cheers.

"Way to go Twilight." Flash smiles.

As the day came to an end Luke and the Rainbooms ponyed down as Twilight headed back to the portal.

"Do you really have to go so soon?" Sunset asks.

"Sorry Equestria needs me." Twilight said.

"Thanks for everything." Luke said.

"Be sure to use that magic responsibly." Twilight smiles before turning to her other self. "And Twilight, don't worry things will work out."

"How can you be so sure?" Sci Twilight asks.

"Because you have all of them to help you out." Twilight said gesturing to the Rainbooms.

All of them wave goodbye as Twilight walks through the portal.

"Well guys, we did it. We're going to Camp Everfree." Applejack said.

"I'm so excited. I can't wait to go." Fluttershy said.

"I think we've all earned this after today." Sonata said.

"What do you say we go celebrate? Desserts on me!" Luke said causing them to cheer.

As they walked away Luke stopped as he looked at each of the girls. All of them tried so hard to save him.

'Ever Shane discovers their soulmate at Camp Everfree.' Will's words rang in his mind.

"I wonder." Luke said as he followed them.
