ღ A Lie That Is Truth ღ

The memory of his dark, piercing eyes was the last thing she saw before awoke.
She felt her face was pearled with sweat. Her breathing did not regularize even if she tried it.
Those eyes...
Even though they were kind most of the times, she had feared them. In her dream they were inquisitors and deeper than normal.
In a breath she said his name.
(...)
The water that fell from the shower slid down her slender, snowy body. She was still thinking about that strange dream. And even though she wanted to find an explanation for it, she couldn't.
She left the bathroom and proceeded to dry herself and then get dressed for the occasion. Today she had to see him.
Because of the dream she was nervous and she hoped that the feeling would vanish when she saw him.
(...)
She arrived on time at the time of the meeting, but he was already sitting at one of the tables. He held up his hand for her to notice him, though she had done it already.
She proceeded to sit in front of him and let out a great sigh of exhaustion when doing it.
The brun haired boy looked at her curiously. He asked if something was happening to her. She felt confidence in his words, she prepared herself to tell him, but the waitress interrupted her to ask for her order.
Bra did not say a single word later.
The boy told her about a funny event that had happened with his niece and his brother. Bra pretended to listened to him, but actually she did not do it.
Goten noticed it.
"Orange clothes again?," he said. And Bra, for a moment, noticed that Goten's look had changed.
"It's my favorite color," she said. And she felt nervous to say it. Why?
Goten showed her a smile typical of him and gave his ice cream a try.
"You know? my father did something quite funny yesterday," he began to say as if he was really interested in Bra knowing it.
In the middle of the story, she could not longer stand it. Was this a way to torture her?
She interrupted him abruptly.
"Ok, just say it," she suddenly said.
Goten raised a eyebrow, bewildered for her reaction.
Bra felt so helpless, and the desire to cry confirmed it. She could not stand it.
Goten raised the corners of his mouth.
"A lie will always be a lie, even if you convince yourself otherwise," he said.
She shuddered.
"Since when have you known it?" She babbled.
"I've always known it."
And it was a great truth. Bra could not believe a lie that she had proposed to believe.
Even if she loved Goten, she would never loved him the same way as his father.
Tears killed themselves in her face.
"I am sorry. But... can you...?"
Goten returned to one of his typical postures, as if they were talking about something fun, even if it was fake.
"A lie becomes true if we both propose to believe it, okay?"
Bra nodded and smiled, imitating his mien, as if nothing had happened.
After all, what was true in reality?
