Blaze, a fast-flying talent of Pixie Hollow, was sweating worse than the water fairies did on a hot day.

Just do it, he told himself fiercely. The Blue Moon Ball's coming up in a few days!

He fluttered down behind a toadstool and watched Vidia, the fastest of his talent, flew closer, on her way to the tearoom.

"Uhm- Vidia?"

She stopped in mid-flight, looking down her nose at him. "Yes, Blaze darling? If you could make this quick, I'm rather in a hurry."

"IwantyoutogototheBlueMoonBallwithme," Blaze blurted. Vidia raised an eyebrow at him.

"And what makes you think I want to go to the ball with you, dearest?"

Blaze, his glow bright red, looked down. He felt a touch at his chin, and Vidia lifted his head up slightly to meet her gaze.

"Normally, I don't like parties," the dark-haired fairy mused. "I'm surprised you even suggested it."

Blaze, his chin still held captive in Vidia's surprisingly strong grip, gulped.

"But," Vidia said lazily, drawing out the word. "There's a first time for everything."

Blaze couldn't hep a grin spreading across his face. "So that's a yes?"

"Blaze, dear, are you really as stupid as you look? Yes, that's a yes. Pick me up from the sour-plum tree a few minutes early, all right?"

Blaze nodded and grinned as Vidia released his chin and flew off. The moment she was out of earshot, he raised his fist and leapt into the air.

"Yes!"
