I am so sorry this took forever. I have rewritten and rewritten this chapter over and over my brain was like putty. I had to take a break and come back to it, and then life happened. but anyways I hope you enjoy this chapter. Yes, I will continue to keep updating I'm just very slow and I tend to write a lot!

Enjoy :)

During the weeks that followed the dance, you had been busier than ever. With your free periods, you were making club adjustments. You were surprised to see that you had a full class on the very first day. But once some students learned they weren't going to be great dancers overnight some people quit. Which was fine even though you tried explaining to them that it took a long time to learn dances like that. Most of them were boys and you imagined they were only there to try and grope the girls while dancing.

Your lessons with Snape were going well, you had finally gotten the Sectumsempra spell down. He was now teaching you the counter spell just in case. Why he never taught this to the ministry of Magic was beyond you. But you didn't question nor really care. You did notice however that he seemed to be more distant than usual. You thought it might've been what happened at the dance. Dancing with you in such a sensual manner. But you shrugged it off.

Sitting on the couch in the Gryffindor common room you thought back to that night. How he danced with such grace and passion. The way his eyes pierced into your soul. Like they were longing. You didn't realize that you were slowly drifting off to sleep as you sat there.

You were dreaming about dancing with him again. Just the two of you, alone. He had on a black tux and you were wearing a beautiful white ball gown. You were glued together dancing in sync. His hands caressed the sides of your body. You rested your head against his chest, closing what little gap there was between the two of you. After a few moments you looked back up to Snape, his face was expressionless as he spun with you in circles. He spun you out then back in. Then did it once more but instead of bringing you back in, he let go and you continued to spin. But when you tried to stop you couldn't. You tripped over something and fell down. Down farther and farther like you had fallen through a rabbit hole. You landed on a hard wooden floor. The wooden floor of your bedroom at home. Getting up you brushed off your dress and walked to the door. When you opened it, it led you into the back yard where a group of people were standing, black cloaks and masks. Death Eaters... You slowly approached feeling around your sides for a wand, but there was nothing but fabric. The hooded figures turned in your direction and one by one started taking off their masks. There was your brother, his friends, then your parents, Bellatrix, Dolohov, Yaxley, and the Malfoy family. As you got closer they moved out of your way, and as the last one moved another tall figure stood there, it was the dark lord himself. He spoke to you but it was in Parseltongue. You were so confused and scared. This hissing becoming more and more deafening. You dropped to your knees before him, covering your ears. "Please please PLEASE STOP!" You screamed. And to your disbelief, the noise did stop. You opened your eyes and looked up. The Dark Lord was glaring at you.

"Ahhh yesss, the last of the (y/l/n) family. The only Gryffindor in a house full of Ssslytherins. An outcast hated by your own blood." He spoke slowly. "But join me child and you won't be alone. Join me and you'll have a family that sees beyond that. Your blood is pure and strong. Hold out your arm child." He hissed.

You didn't move. You stared at him in horror. Were you really about to be branded like a farm animal? You looked behind you and saw that there was no way to run. They had formed a circle around you.

"Go ahead, honey. It doesn't hurt. It's for the greater good." Your mothers' sweet voice rang through the air. You looked back to He who must not be named and shook your head.

"No... no! I, I can't. I won't!" You cried out as you stood back up shakily.

"(Y/n)," a man said as he stepped out from behind the dark lord. "It's ok. It's not as bad as it seems." He removed his mask. It was Severus. You looked at him in disbelief. He showed you his left forearm where he bore the dark mark.

"Professor Snape! I, no! I can't do this he's evil. People are dying because of him." He stepped back in disbelief.

"People are dying because they are weak!" He hissed back, slowly closing the gap between the two of you. "Are you weak as well?" Snape raised his eyebrow.

"ENOUGH!" Voldemort yelled. "Girl you will be marked tonight! Hold out your arm!" He pointed his wand at you. You didn't answer nor did you move. Next thing you knew you were writhing on the ground in pain you never knew was imaginable. Fire pierced your lungs as you screamed. You reached out to your father who did nothing but glare at you. Another wave of pain, feeling as if death were near.

Suddenly you woke up... you were disoriented and confused. There were people at your sides talking. Professor McGonagall had a firm grip on your shoulders gently shaking you awake. "My dear girl are you alright?!" There was worry in her tone. You saw Harry and a few others standing around the couch.

"I'm ok. I'm fine. Um, it was... it was just a bad dream. I'm ok." You reassured everyone as Professor McGonagall led you up to your dorm. You noticed your left forearm was itchy. When you looked at it you saw that there was a giant light pink spot there. Once McGonagall left you looked at your arm over and over. Scared by your dream. It was as if your dream was real... everything felt so real.

A week went by and your dream still lingered in the back of your mind. You had the same nightmare every night, and you were starting to become sleep deprived. You were scared to sleep, scared to shut your eyes, scared to rest. It was Friday morning when you received a letter from your parents stating that they were pulling you away for the weekend. Reading it over three more times you got up and walked over to Jackson. You asked him to take over the class on Saturday telling him you were going home for the weekend. He agreed.

Lunch came and went and around two in the afternoon you walked down to Professor Snape's classroom. The door was closed but you know he had a class so you unwillingly knocked on the door. A few seconds later it swung open and a very upset Professor stood there staring at you. "I'm sorry to disrupt you, sir. But I came to inform you that I will not be here for lessons tonight or tomorrow night." You said as you pulled out the letter.

"And why would that be?" He snatched the letter from your hands and read it. "Very well give them my regards then." Was all he said as he slammed the door in your face. You rolled your eyes at his attitude.

When five came around you waited at the front gates with Professor McGonagall until your mother showed. Which was only a couple minutes later. The two adults spoke for a few minutes before you left with your mother down the path. Once across the bridge line she grabbed onto your arm and disapparated.

Once home she let you go up to your room and spend the rest of the day to yourself. She mentioned that she would discuss why you were home tomorrow.

That night your dream was even worse the all the other nights combined, your arm was now on fire, your body ached, and you were covered in sweat. It was around five in the morning when you woke up screaming and thrashing. You didn't go back to sleep, so instead, you got dressed and went down to the kitchen for some water, then at the table where your mother was reading the daily prophet.

"Oh good, you're already awake. I have some things I'd like to discuss with you." She said as she placed the paper to the side. "As you know, our loyalties lie with the Dark Lord." Your throat dropped into your stomach. "He has given us a task, which is to convince you to join him." She watched your face carefully. You were shifting uncomfortably in your seat. This was your nightmare coming to life right before your very eyes. "You have no choice. Well, you do, but either it's become a follower or death." Her face softened. "I don't necessarily want you to do this but there is no other choice my darling." She grabbed your hand on the table which had been shaking. Tears fell from your (e/c) eyes.

"This is really happening isn't it?" You chocked on a sob. "Momma I don't know if I can go through with it." You closed your eyes.

"You have to or the dark lord will kill you. He made us pull you out of school because he is coming here later today." She whispered as she gripped harder on your hands.

"Mom for the last few weeks I've been having the same nightmare over and over. About this!" You broke down and cried, your mother stood up and came around the table to hold you.

"Oh honey, I know... I know. It sounds to me like you have some seer tendencies. Your great Aunt was a seer." She remarked in a hushed tone while smoothing your hair out, and rocking you back and forth.

There was a knock on the door. Your heart fell past your knees. Your mother left you to answer the knocking. Next thing you know a fat pudgy guy came into view in the living room. "Good morning Madame the dark lord will be here shortly. Is the girl here?" He looked around then spotted you. A sickening grin broke out across his face. "Good, good."

"You told me he was coming later in the evening Wormtail!" Your mother practically spat and hissed.

"Change of plans Madame, he is tired of waiting." The small man pushed passed her into the living room where he stood eyeballing you in the kitchen.

"This is absurd! I just told her!" She looked to you in panic.

"Do you question the dark lord's choices Madame!?" The pudgy little man smirked.

"No I don..." but before your mother could finish her sentence there was a loud crack from outside the door. Your father and brother followed by some of his friends had entered. They were followed by a tall hooded figure which came to the middle of the living room. Once the door had closed the tall man took off his hood. It was the dark lord. Voldemort. You were shaking as you've never shaken before. You didn't want to become a death eater you didn't want to fight for him. To hurt your friends, to kill. Your father had led the Dark Lord into his study along with everyone but you.

They were in there for about two hours. During that time though, curiosity had been killing you. You used to listen in on your fathers meeting through a secret vent that was in a storage closet right next to the study. So as carefully and quietly as you could you opened the door to the closet. It was an old cleaning supply closet that the house-elves used. There were so many mops, brooms, and buckets. Afraid to make any noise you cast a silencing charm, and quickly moved everything out from under the vent that was overhead. You tested the shelves you once used to stand on when you were like six but they seemed too weak to hold you. So you grabbed a bucket, flipped it over, then stood on it. You were able to barely peek into the grate and see inside the room. Lord Voldemort had his back to you which was a good thing in case he spotted you. Everyone else was either sitting or standing near the large oak desk. You could make out certain words. They were talking about you and Harry.
"Does anyone know if young (y/f/n) is friends with Harry Potter?"

"I'm not to sure my lord, but she is in the same house with him." your father replied.

"I see then I shall ask her myself. Boy, bring your sister in."

"Yes my lord." You saw your brother start towards the door. Your eyes widened in fear as you jumped down and ran from the supply closet. The doors were at least 5 feet apart and you booked it passed the study, around the corner to the living room. You threw yourself onto the closest chair and began nonchalantly playing with a curl of hair. Your brother had come around the corner and grabbed you by your arm. "Let's go, the dark lord requests your presence. Do NOT embarrass this family already more than you do." He hissed in your ear as he pulled you towards the study.

"There she isss." Voldemort looked up at you. "Come girl." He beckoned you forward. When you didn't move he grew impatient and used his wand to whip you forward. You were on the other side of the desk from him. The sight of him unnerved you to your core. "Do you know why I am here child?" You nodded slowly. "Good, but first I have a question for you. Are you close to the Potter boy?"

"I uh... not close but were acquaintances." you fidgeted with your hands.

"I need you to get close to him. That is what I want from you. Tell me everything important that he talks about. Plans of any kind." He was staring you down as if he was about to consume your soul.

"Yes my lord." You trembled looking down and away from his piercing gaze.

"Now I imagine you know what comes next." He spoke slowly and carefully. "Are you prepared to follow me, just like your entire family?" He asked as you looked from your parents to your brother who was glaring at you. You didn't speak or say anything, because you were frozen with fear. "Answer me, girl!" The dark lord stood up slowly as he snapped. You looked back at him and backed up. You couldn't... you wouldn't. You had to get out. As fast as you could, you ran towards the door and threw it open. Running up the stairs you heard yelling behind you while running to your room. Once in there, you grabbed the small bag you packed, then disapparated.

At first, you didn't recognize where you were, your head was spinning. But you were now on the outskirts of Hogsmeade. Quickly you ran towards the town as you heard another loud crack behind you. Your brother and his butt buddies had followed you.

"You think you can run from the Dark Lord! You coward!" You heard them running after you. They weren't far behind, they were much taller and faster. "CRUCIO!" You fell to the ground. This pain was real. Not the pain from your dream. This time it was real. It was as if you had landed on millions of tiny needles. Constantly piercing your skin. Then came the fire. Maga filled your veins as you writhed all over the ground. Hundreds of sludge hammers one after another attacking your skull and limbs. Your screams filled the air and sky as all three men used the curse against you. You wished for death. You wished for peace. But mostly you wished for Severus.

"HEY! GET OUT OF HERE!" the curses had stopped, someone was yelling from a doorway. You heard your brother say something to the others before they apparated away. Your body was still in immense pain. Aftershock after aftershock hit you like raging tidal waves. Suddenly you were being lifted and carried into the nearby building. "Clear the bar! I need to put her down!" The man yelled at others in the room. You looked up at the man only moving your eyes. He was older and had long grey hair to match his grey beard. You saw him pull out his wand and conjure a Goat Patronus. He spoke to it and it galloped away. Minutes later in the distance more cracks were heard. More people had entered the bar. "Albus they attacked her... in BROAD daylight!"

Professor McGonagall ran up to you. "This young lady was pulled from Hogwarts yesterday evening by her mother. (Y/n) if you can hear me squeeze my hand." She placed her hand within yours and you, as best as you could, squeezed.

"You said in broad daylight, Aberforth? What did they look like?" Dumbledore asked in a calm voice.

"Albus, Minerva, three of them, at the same time attacked her with the Cruciatus curse." He grunted in disbelief. "One had black slicked hair, tall and lanky. The second the one in the middle was also tall medium build and either dark brown hair or black hair. And the third had blonde hair and was a bit shorter than the other two. Looked like a rabbit with his bucked teeth." You listened to Aberforth as you lie there on the bar, still shaking from the aftershocks.

"That sounds a lot like her older brother Brackius and his snakey little friends. Always causing trouble here at Hogwarts. I never did like them." Professor McGonagall said.

"She's lucky to be alive. We need to get her to Madam Pomfrey." Albus Dumbledore remarked.

"Albus you can't move her! She needs to go to St. Mungos shes in a terrible state!" Minerva cried out. "I'll fetch for Snape and Poppy. Maybe he will have something, and Poppy can only do so much."

"Minerva please keep calm. They are the best and will do whatever they can." Albus said in a calm tone. He sent a Patronus to fetch the two Professors, and within minutes they both showed up. Poppy rushed to your side and checked you over.

"Can we move her somewhere more private Aberforth?" Poppy asked as Snape came to stand at your side.

"Aye, we can move her into my room in the back, have a bed in there." Aberforth nodded. You were carefully levitated into the back room where you were gently placed onto the queen-sized bed. Poppy and Minerva on both sides of you.

"Minerva we are going to need to strip her of her clothing. We need to rub the salve all over her body to stop the pain and tremors." Poppy took out a large jar and sat it onto a nightstand next to the bed.

"Ok, gentlemen, I need to ask you all to leave the room. She needs her privacy." You heard Professor McGonagall politely tell them. The men all nodded and shut the door behind them as they exited the room. The two older women began to strip your body as carefully as they could but the slightest movement made your skin burn and sting. This caused you to cry and scream out several times.

On the other side of the door, the bar had been closed down and emptied. The three men could hear the screams coming from the back room where you resided. Albus had to cast a silencing charm over the building as to not arouse anyone's suspicion in the village. He could see Severus tense up every time you screamed. The men were conversing about what steps should happen next.

After what seemed like hours, and going in and out of consciousness, the slave they rubbed all over your body had kicked in and the pain had drastically subsided. Breathing normally now you reached to grab Professor Mcgonagalls arm. She looked down at you and nodded. She picked up a small cup and helped you drink. This was the second time you were in a situation like this and it had only been a few months into the school year. No matter what good grades you had, you felt like a weak witch who couldn't even defend yourself against her own brother.

The two ladies had left the room after making sure you were covered by blankets, allowing the headmaster and Severus to come in. Severus sat by your side, like he once had in the infirmary, the headmaster standing behind him. "(Y/f/n) do you remember anything that happened?" Professor Dumbledore asked in a lighthearted manner. You nodded.

"Yes but not everything. Things happened so fast." You said as best you could. "I'm sor..."

"Don't you dare apologize you, daft girl!" This time it was Severus who spoke, as he squeezed your hand lightly.

"We need to know what happened, which means Professor Snape may have to use Legilimency. Are you ok with that?" The headmaster looked down at Severus who hadn't taken his eyes off you.

"Will it hur.." you tensed up beginning to panic and whimper.

"No, I'll make it painless. Promise." Snape reassured you by another gentle squeeze.

"Promise?" You were scared of more pain.

"Have I ever broken my promises?" His tone was soft.

"No." You smiled slightly. "What exactly do I do?" You looked over Snape's shoulder to the headmaster.

"Severus is going to dive into your recent memories and watch what unfolds. But you must relax and fight the urge to push him out. It's going to feel foreign and your subconscious is not going to like it." Dumbledore explained.

"Which is why I will be talking to you, almost telepathically. It hurts yes but only if the host is resisting. This is important. Do you trust me?"

"So you're... you're going to watch my memories? Um. O.. ok." You were freaking out because your dream had just come back to you. Dancing with Severus passionately. It made your cheeks turn red. If he tried to go back that far you were gonna somehow push him out. You didn't want him to know you had these strange feelings for him.

"I'm going to go speak with Poppy and Minerva, Severus I'll be right back." Albus turned to leave. Then it was just you two. Alone. Again. Your insides flared up causing you to become nauseous.

"Are you ready?" Severus asked as he tucked a curl of hair behind your ear. Taking a deep breath to steady yourself you looked up at him.

"Yes. No!... wait.. I, I, yes.." you said breathing faster panicking slightly.

"Relax. It's ok. I will try not to watch anything personal but remember, do not fight, relax, and remain calm." His eyes fixed onto yours as you heard the words softly roll from his lips. "Legilimens."

The next thing that happened was you were in your bed sleeping at home. You could see yourself tossing and turning. You could see Snape standing at the foot of your bed. He was watching past you. "What were you dreaming about?" His voice now in your ear as if he was right behind you. But when you looked at him he was still 5 feet away. You felt a panic grow in your chest. The room around you was becoming hazy. "(Y/f/n) relax. Calm down you're going to break the connection." His words were in the back of your mind soothing your anxiety.

"It was a nightmare. I've been having the same nightmare for weeks now. That's why I was late and looked terrible coming into your class." You paused before saying reluctantly, "I'm scared to sleep." You looked at him. He nodded as he walked closer to past you in the bed. He then placed his hand onto past yous forehead. Like a magnet, you were pulled into the nightmare along with him. There you stood in horror as you watched your nightmare unfold. Dancing with dream Severus. The way you both flowed around the room bodies pressed closely together. The way you both looked at each other. Dream Severus then spun you in then out and then back out again letting dream you fall down the rabbit hole. The meeting, the torture, your resistance. "Please." You grabbed onto his arm. He looked down at you with pain-filled eyes. Severus then hugged you tightly and took you out of the dream.

"Why didn't you take any sleeping draughts?" Snape had released you and softly grabbed your chin.

"I did and they didn't work. I thought they were defective so I made new ones but those didn't work either." You looked back to past you getting up out of bed. Realizing your past self was about to change, you grabbed Snape's arm and turned him away.

"What on earth are you..." snape grunted.

"I'm changing!" You made sure he wasn't looking. After a few minutes, you peered past his shoulder to see if you were presentable. You were so you let him turn back around.

followed your past self down the hallway to where you had your conversation with your mother.

The rest of it you stayed silent as Snape watched everything unfold. Once done he pulled out from your mind and you were both back in the room in Hogsmeade.

"What you did was stupid." Snape grabbed onto your hand and held it with both of his. "Very brave but stupid. He will hunt you down until you join." He brushed the back of your hand with his thumbs. "That or kill you for resisting." Snape then brought your hand to his face where he held it against his lips. You could feel the hot breath from his large nose. His affection towards you was not the reason you began to cry. You were crying because you were terrified. "Oh, you brave stupid girl." He kissed the back of your hand, as he reached out with another to cup your cheek. You rolled onto your side closer to him and cried into his chest. His arms were comforting. Severus never left your side that night as you slept.

He knew the worst was yet to come.
