Thanks to all my loyal readers who are still willing to read this even after all the time that has passed since I have posted anything. I know that it has been awhile - I had a lot going on in my personal life that had to come first before my fanfiction writing. I plan to complete the story "Revived" soon. I wanted to start with a little short story first though. This is based upon "The Newlywed Game". Enjoy! Please read, share, and comment. My question for this story would be, what do you want to see over the summer for stories? Please share your opinions! I love reading your comments.
"Hi, honey. How was work today?"
Demetrius smiled. The sound his wife's beautiful voice never ceased to make him happy. He walked into the kitchen and wrapped his arms around his wife, kissing her cheek before responding.
"It went great. Jack and Sue finally got married and we helped them move into the new house they purchased."
"WHAT?! I didn't know they were dating! Why wasn't I invited? I didn't expect this ... how long ... this had better not be a joke, Mr. Demetrius Gans! Where is the house? Does Sue need help cleaning it?"
Donna's expression was a comical mixture of excited curiosity and suspicion.
"Is supper ready?" D chuckled. "I'm starved after unloading that moving van."
"So they did move?"
"Temporarily."
Donna set supper on the table. "The kids ate and went to soccer with the Dixons next door already, so we'll have no interruptions. Now, tell me what's going on with Jack and Sue."
D blessed the food, then proceeded to tell Donna the story. By the time for dessert, both of the Ganses were shaking with laughter.
"So you left them there - alone?" Donna asked between tears of laughter.
"I told them to have fun," D replied, shaking his head at the "Hudson" couple's faces when left behind at the new house. "Besides, no one else could stay. Newlyweds are exactly known for their love of company."
"That's right. But are you sure that this wasn't your idea instead of Sue's?" queried Donna, mirroring her eyes at her husband. "You've been saying for months now that you'd like to see Jack and Sue together if possible."
"No, it wasn't my idea. Wish I had thought of it though!"
"I wonder what the two 'love birds' are doing right now. I would guess that it would be pretty awkward at their place right now."
D smiled, catching Donna's hand as she started to clear the dished. She paused and smiled down at him. Deep, deep love shone from both pairs of eyes.
"I'm just awfully glad to come back to my nest each day to find my beautiful love bird," he whispered. Donna's eyes started to sparkle in the special way that she had. She leaned forward.
"I love you too."
And then the new pair of love birds was forgotten as the older pair kissed.
